Group Palo Brunch (from post #8 of this thread, created February 2013 in thread part one)

I am still waiting to hear from:

(I searched DIS and saw postings on 8/2/14 Fantasy - maybe changed sailings??? Last posting there was 2/28/14 and also posted in the thread 6/29/15 Magic Norway. But nothing recently on WBTA. Has not replied to two PMs I have sent during April.)

(I searched DIS and saw Alaska in May posted 4/25/14 so I know has been online recently, but not responded to the two PMs I sent this month regarding WBTA brunch)

In about 24 hours I will be removing these two above from the brunch list if I don't receive confirmation numbers. I feel I did my fair share in reaching out to contact by sending PMs, posting in this thread repeatedly since early April, posting in both facebook groups repeatedly, and searching on DIS to see if there were any insights to recent postings if still on WBTA. The last thing I want is for someone to be deleted from a Palo group brunch and say they were wronged and that I did not do enough. Having only DIS name, I tried everything I knew. I apologize if communication never reached these two above. I at least tried the best I could.

Mandy, I'm not part of the Palo group brunches but just wanted to say what amazing work you are doing in putting those together, especially with all this necessary detective work!

I completely agree with Annichan. I would like to thank everyone organizing the groups for all our "grown-up" playtime. Maybe we should organize a petition protesting Disney's decision about having no character breakfast.

Thank you! I never anticipated 8 groups... EBTA 2013 we only had two groups and wbta 2011 wasn't 8 for sure... But it will all be worth it in the end

Ditto!!! Send some emails for sure. Or else there may be 50 women in pink boas and tiaras go swarm the CD to remind him these transatlantic shave certain traditions... Like character breakfasts

OK- here's the OFFICIAL word: (I am paraphrasing from my contact with DCL Travel this evening, where she read the prepared statement): "Due to customer feedback, all character breakfasts on the Mediterranean sailings, beginning with the East Bound Transatlantic on May 19, 2014, will be discontinued so that those aboard will be able to take advantage of the port-intensive cruise itineraries. The character breakfasts will resume after the Magic docks on September 20 in San Juan, PR, and will then be offered on the Carribbean Cruises."

will be able to add one to Yogi in group 6 per that request (so don't delete!! sent you a PM);
I will be able to put MedicGoofy/PhantomsGirl together in group 2

Again, it all works out pending the two above do not reply by April 30 and my jigsaw puzzle on paper with all the changes and additions is correct. .....

I contacted DCL this morning (of COURSE I did! LOL) to get an email address to which we can express our disappointment that the Character Breakfasts have been cancelled on both the East Bound TransAtlantic and the West Bound TransAtlantic this year. Email dcl.guest.communications@disneycruise.com
Please consider following this link to request that the character breakfasts be reinstated, for the sake of others if not just for you on those delightful mornings at sea-- we are not port-intensive at that point, like the Mediterranean sailings. I sent e-mail to the address provided and I also sent it via the "contact us" link on the DCL website. I urge everyone on the FB pages & this message board to let DCL know you object to them cancelling the Character Meals for our cruise. It just defies logic that with all the "at sea" days they can't figure out how to schedule this without conflicting with port excursions.

I am going to email and contact us tonight as well. It is absurd that they consider the 2 transatlantics as port intensive. They couldn't be further from that! And even the longer med cruises, while port intensive, have enough sea days to do it. We had 4 sea days on our med last year and loved having the character breakfast. I really hope DCL changes their mind on this one.

I can't remember if this is the company we used in Barcelona a few years ago, but we've had positive experiences with them in other European cities. geffric, we'd already booked this tour before you posted this, what are your concerns about the early leaving time? Do you think it'll be too early for some 'late risers' or is the time we're due to dock a concern. Newbie cruiser here so just trying to understand if I've made a mistake (we've booked the 9am one)

anticipated disappointment for your upcoming sailing.

Please know that we continually evaluate the onboard experiences offered
to our Guests have decided to suspend the Character Breakfast on our
2014 Transatlantic and Mediterranean sailings. Although more specific
entertainment offerings like a Villain's Ball have not yet been
announced, this change will allow us to provide our Guests with
additional interactions with our world famous Disney Characters
throughout these sailings.

Thank you again for writing. We appreciate the time you took to share
your thoughts with us and look forward to having you sail with us soon.

Hi, I got a very similar reply from Rebekah Young. I made specific comments about wanting the villians ball and fab 5 photo op, so I think that's why I got the different wording.

Maybe we will actually be better off with the other options they are planning.

I mentioned that we had 5 consecutive sea days and another 3 before that! I hope we can get enough people to send off letters so that DCL reconsiders dropping this event on our cruise.
