The MAGIC is Back!!! - 6th Sept 2014 WBTA - Come & join the fun! - PART 2

You sound like us using VistPrint to make fun Disney cruising tshirts :thumbsup2 And yep, we still wear our's regularly :) I was just planning on using the image as well. We did have someone upload on our 2011 and 2013 DCL transatlantic crossings so others could order - then anyone could order/pay/etc. I just don't think anyone has volunteered to do something like that yet. That will be great if you can share what you end up doing with Zazzle! I've never tried that website.

I love that we're chatting about port plans now. :) I'm not really decided on anything in any of our ports.

Amen, me too!

We arrive BCN on Sept 4 following our 9-nt cruise out of Copenhagen and the previous week in Scotland (one day in London). It's our daughters 8th birthday when we arrive at BCN so I want something for her as in a traditional family birthday at a restaurant and surprise her. She is in a dual language program at school so this is important to me to do. We also plan to visit the hospital in Barcelona where the mural is hanging that we painted a piece of during EBTA 2013 with the Voluntears. We will use metro to the Columbus monument and then blue cruise bus. Did it with luggage twice last summer and the five of us had no issues.

Malaga - wanting cultural experience and I know it is a holiday there

Tenerife - like Danae, think it will be our only visit here

St Martin - having both DH and I worked in the aviation industry, we love Maho Beach and the planes at SXM. That may be it for there this time.

Antigua - I saw something that involved snorkeling and other things - we like to be on the water although I did consider touring Sandals as part of my TA training

St Kitts is most likely a catamaran sail to Nevis as our friends lived in Nevis and spoke so highly about it (he was food/bev director at the Four Seasons there).we toured St Kitts last time we were there so feel like we saw it.

San Juan is a flight home after lunch. We may be headed there for a short trip this summer anyway.

We are planning to use the blue cruise buses in Barcelona too, pleased to hear a seasoned traveller recommends them, thank you:thumbsup2

Still planning our ports too, hoping to do some snorkelling, but not decided where yet, Maho beach also looks fun.

We are arriving at Barcelona day before and hope to see a lot of you at Hard Rock Cafe. Nothing else planned there. We are also going with the Blue Cruise Bus. We did it before and it worked well.

Nothing yet planned.

Malaga I think we'll see what happend in town.

Tenerife I don't know. I know we had on Madeira a group that did a tour on the island. Not with DCL, but someone organized it. I think we had several busses and it was a great time. Perhaps something like that is possible on Tenerife. I don't know.

I want to Maho Beach this time to see the planes. My DS was mountain biking last time there and want to do that again he said. So I wait for DCL excursions.

St Kitts I saw the railroad train+ sail and I think DCL will have that one.

Antigua I have no idea.

And we leave the same night at we arrive in San Juan. So I hope to see the old town. It is near cruise terminals. I only have my luggage to manage then.

It's now a bag, color coded to match CC level with a dry erase board and pen. Upper levels have a game also.

I'm a newbie, can someone please explain? We don't want to miss out on any of the fun. We are on Deck 8. THANKS :-)

Welcome to the Disboards! :welcome:
They were referring to Castaway Club gifts which are given as welcome presents to repeat DCL cruisers, so if this is your first Disney cruise, unfortunately you will not get any this time. But that is only true this once - as soon as you have finished your first cruise, you will be a Silver Castaway Club member and find a gift waiting for you in your cabin on your second cruise.

We would split at the top of the stairs if no elevator to have one adult stay with the kiddos and the other transport luggage down, and third adult stay down with the luggage. The kiddos and DMIL weren't as good as carrying luggage up/down stairs as DH and I, and we didn't want anyone hurt trying to carry too much, so that's how we managed any metro stops without an elevator. Throw an umbrella stroller into the mix, too ;) But it was a lot cheaper than the cab we took the previous time in Barcelona, and for us, every dollar counts. :thumbsup2 (Plus, look at it as working off any cruise calories :rotfl2: )

Hi everyone!

Just checking in after a long while away from the boards. DH Paul and I are so looking forward to meeting you all onboard. We'll be flying in from Chicago to Barcelona and will be arriving on Friday morning. We'll be staying at the Doubletree Barcelona and hopefully meeting up at the Hard Rock with many of you.
As far as t-shirts go, this WBTA doesn't seem to have anyone with the printing connections as the previous two we've been on ('07 and '10) but that's okay. If no one objects, I think that I may just grab the graphic from Page 1 and make my own shirts using a website like Zazzle.com. I'll try and do it soon so I can post pics on the thread for all to see the results. We still wear our past shirts and continually get positive comments on them with people even stopping up in the MK and asking us where they could buy them! :lmao:

Lisa Marie

We always make family vacation shirts. On the last cruise, I printed and brought about 70+ shirts from Canada to Barcelona (med cruise) for the group. No printing connections? Have a direct-to-garment printer, 63" solvent printer, 54" laminator, 64" vinyl cutter, amongst other things. I have a fun job :) lol

Okay folks, I've finished updating the FE sign-ups from here and the FB page, and passed the list on to Sarah, aka CDNDisneyMom, who will be taking over the FE organization. Her husband, Andrew, aka Puredata, will be taking over the Mojito tasting, as soon as I finish updating that list.

Sad to say, we've had to cancel this cruise. We've rebooked on the 2015 EBTA as the timing on that cruise works better for us on a number of levels. We'll miss cruising with all of you, but perhaps we'll meet up on another cruise.

Have a great time!!

Palo Group Brunch:

Please email me at wbta2014 at yahoo dot com to confirm you are still in your spot for Palo Brunch. This is the listing we started in February 2013 from Thread #1 and kept updated there before transferring over to this current thread. (Man, I've been keeping up with additions/deletions/changes a long time now!)

What I need from you in your email:

- Your DIS name and Group Number listed below (so I can match you up to list below)
- Your first and last name as it is on your DCL cruise reservation
- Your reservation number with DCL for WBTA 2014 (should be a series of eight numbers, and must match your first and last name on the booking)
*** Please list each person if you are confirming for your group of 2 or whatever number it is ***

This is what I must submit to DCL in the request. I will reply to your email has been received. Any changes will be denoted on page one of this thread as always since we have a current waitlist for spots. It is possible not everyone notified me when canceling this cruise so I want to open up any extra spots if available. I need to know this information by April 30 or I will begin making deletions to those who do not confirm via the email above. There will be no refunds after making this booking per DCL, and is charged to your onboard account. The main name on each reservation will be the first one listed in each group.

As has been stated since day one, when normal bookings open for spa/excursions/Palo, please go ahead and secure your own Palo Brunch timeslot for when you choose. When I submit the group request for the private room, if confirmed for your group, DCL will cancel your original request to book this group request. Once onboard, you can make additional brunch reservations as they save x number of spots each day for onboard bookings.

Thank you so much! :goodvibes

We won't have to use the Metro on cruise morning as staying near where the blue buses pick you up. We've done the suitcase relay in London a couple of time though:goodvibes I'm worried about snorkelling in Antigua, as we're not in port long and if using non DL tour I'd like to have plenty of time to get back to ship. I'm used to WDW planning but cruise planning is new to us, thank goodness for all the friendly people and help on the DIS:thumbsup2

CHAMPAGNE GIRLS UPDATE

I will also post, over the next few weeks 2 group lists and will try to make sure there is an even mix, in each group, of previous WBTA, previous EBTA, existing friends and newbies.

Thanks for the update. It is my first Champagne Girls as I was such a newbie to the group in WBTA 2011 I was too shy to join in but after cruising with you all and getting to know you more here and on Facebook we are joining practically everything!!!

party:

I'm waiting for DCL to release their port excursions but typically I do adventure type trips such as scuba diving, hiking, biking, canoeing, etc.

We too are waiting for the excursions to be released and Richard is waiting with baited breath and hoping for lots of diving packages on all the caribbean islands.

:fish:

Glad to read we have another diver on board. I too and hoping for lots of scuba diving packages because that is my first preferred activity.

Can you add us to the roll call, myself and my DH on our first ever cruise!!!

Getting very excited and overwhelmed at the amount of activities you guys have been planning!!

Today is May 6 which means we are exactly 5 months from sailing on the Magic.
