The MAGIC is Back!!! - 6th Sept 2014 WBTA - Come & join the fun! - PART 2

One thing to add, please have the address of your hotel ready for the taxi driver. Seems simple but we got in the taxi and gave him the hotel name at which point he asked the address.
In addition to the hotel's address and phone number, I bring a Google Map printout showing the hotel's location.

Our daughter is 4 but we would enjoy to attend your son's B-day party. Thanks and let us know

I will let you know when we get it all set up. We should be making invitations to take on the ship but we are not sure when they can set us up with a room or a set date yet. Our concierge team told us that often it will be within a few weeks of the cruise when they get everything worked out. We are aiming for a sea day and trying to work around major activities. Did you message me on Facebook as well?

I am definitely bringing tablets then (and agree with the fear over liquid pods bursting on the way). I may check I haven't got any small packets of powder from previous apartment stays actually as that might be even safer!

I'm after some advice from all you seasoned cruisers :)

Any idea how much local currency to exchange for port excursion days?

I've decided I'm going for 100 Euros for each of the European ports then $100 for each of the caribbean ports. I figure that this way I'll have enough for souvenirs and something to eat or drink in all ports. I don't think I'll end up spending it all but I worked out as I'm overnighting in Barcelona and only counting that as 100 Euros I probably will be close.

Hey Pat - thank you for asking that - i messed up - it should say 5 are participating for WAMUMOF4 in the candy swap !
I fixed it on the first page. Hope everyone sees the correction. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the update

Welcome!

For those worried about spillage from the pods, I suggest not only bagging them, but putting them into a disposable "tupperware" type container. It gives you a lot of peace of mind, doesn't take up much room, and I was able to use the container to take home small trinkets easily in it.

For those booked at the Praktik with Sue, has anyone gotten reservation numbers? I emailed her last week and haven't heard back. My sister is arriving on Weds afternoon, and we get there Thursday afternoon. I would really love to have confirmation of the rooms!

Jenn, I don't think she's distributed confirmation numbers as I haven't received one.

I alerted Susan that you've sent her a message. She's already replied back to me. She said she replied to you, so she'll reach out again!

Ohhh you just reminder me I haven't pack any tupperware and usually I do if only to carry around nibbles! I will add it to me list

Heard from Sue, thanks for giving her the heads up. My sister is at a different hotel the first night, so I really wanted to make sure she was taken care of

Good idea. Thanks

i put the "pods" in ziplock bags so if they rupture it wont go all over and yet it is flexible for my luggage..
;):thumbsup2
Welcome to all new folks!

Welcome aboard!

Before my normal liquid detergent was available in pods, I would place a washcloth in a ziploc bag and pour in the correct amt of liquid for a load....

Well aren't you brilliant! Why did I never think of solving that problem this way???!

I don't think that list has been posted yet - waiting for it also. I do know it takes some time to organize, and she is totally organized!! :thumbsup2

I have posted the initial draft of the Navigator on the two Facebook sites. I'm trying link it here, also, but in the meantime if you're not on FB and would like to see the Navigator, PM me.

Our son is turning two on the cruise and we were thinking about having a small party on board during one of the earlier sea days. Probably in one the reception rooms with a cake and maybe a special guest. We were just wondering if any families with toddlers would be interested in coming. We kind of thought that maybe this would be a good way to meet some families with small kids too. Our son will probably be spending some time in the nursery and we would love it if he maybe had some familiarity with other toddlers.

Hi Lauren
My DD is 4 turning 5 2 days before the cruise starts. She is not a toddler. if you think she can fit in your party, let me know. If you already have a bunch of toddlers that fit more into Jameson's age don't worry. Feel fee to let me know!
Thank you
Alex

I've got two boys, a 4 year old and another one turning 1 on August 26th. If you need more party guests count them in ;)

I am sorry to be high maintenance but we don't have Facebook and I can PM because I have less than ten post. Thanks
