AshClan -- Wow! Very very close by. Ever been to the Grog in Newburyport? Not sure if it's even there anymore. Loved it! How about the Portsmouth Gaslight Company? Used to work there, in another life.

MelonPolyMomofMNM -- I'm thinkin' maybe the busses are bad at Poly because the monorail is really the big draw? I'm thinkin' the busses at POR are good because that's all they've got. Not counting the boat to DTD. But that's not a real park. Give it a try ... if you don't like you could always move over to the Poly. Save your big savings for the tea. And other fun stuff.

I don't know if I'm really a Maelstromer, or more of the Maelstromer auxiliary. Maybe I should hold a bake sale. Hm. As far as I can tell, this is a pretty welcoming bunch. Though I've posted a coupla times and gotten nooo response, so I've concluded that either 1. the banter was so fast 'n' furious that my post got missed, or 2. It's not you, it's me. I'm hoping it's 1., and I'm trying again in the AM when things are a little slower.

Sooo cool to see Delswife here! The legendary TR has sent its ripple effect out it to the world in SUCH a way. We used LY/MI as a way to ease the potential fireworks that coulda happened when we took ALL the inlaws to WDW with us in January. AND all stayed together under one roof. Bought the pins, gave them to everyone, and gave them whole talkin' to about keeping it magical, darnit! And it worked. Even my 2 year old gets it, and tosses off the sweetest little "Wuv ya! Meeeen it!" when somebody's getting out of hand.

So Delswife. Thanks. You're awesome.

we spent 160 extra last trip!!!! that is it!!!! over the balance of 4000 that is!! for 4 days and five nights...geesh....


I am nervous about the busses I think more than anything but if LALA and ZZUB can do it, I think I can too....

Okay Melons, this may sound harsh, but just know I only say this with love....

Suck it up.

Are you crazy? Is staying at the Poly worth close to $1200.00 more? I mean, I know it's beautiful and it has the monorail. And the next time I decide to sell a kidney, I'll stay there too and fall in love with it I'm sure just like you. But everything that you mentioned....no hoppers, no GF Tea, no extras....just to be able to stay there....I think that would do it for me. Because really, how much time do you actually spend in the room anyway? I know for us, we sleep there and get ready there. And that's pretty much it.

Lemme tell you a little story and maybe it'll make you feel better.

I ran into a friend of mine the other day. She and her family are like us. And you. They go to Disney every year. Yall are kindred spirits because they ALWAYS stay at the Poly. Every year. Yep, she's a resort snob too.

For some reason, they couldn't swing the Poly this year and her DH booked All Star Sports. She said she pouted the entire trip down because she was so disappointed they were going from the Poly to a value, no less. What she found out when she got there was that she LOVED it. Seriously. She fell in love with it. She said she couldn't tell any difference in the room size between the two resorts. She liked the food court there, it was just a better fit for her family. Really. She loved it and never thought she would have before. And that was a value. So just think how much you're gonna love POR.

You can take the boat to DTD. Just keep your rain gear handy. You can take the girls and DH on a horse drawn carriage ride. The food court is really good. The grounds are beautiful. I really do think you'll like it. I know we did.

Plus you'll have extra money to do some other fun things too, like the tea or carriage rides or whatever your heart desires.

Anyway, that's my two cents. Take it for what it's worth.

Ok today went a little better.

I started out the day suggesting that I make copies of the invoices to use as a reference. But that didn't work out like I had hoped. Then she finally set me in the seat and let me try working them myself. That is where I hit the wall. So, before I left I told her that I had hoped that the invoice thing would work, but she just flys through them so fast, I would either have to stop her every 5 seconds or just do thenm myself really slowly.

Her response was that that was Ok, and that they knew that going into this so don't expect myself to know everything so quickly. We will definately let me do the work next week when I return for Wednesday.

She also said that the function that I am taking over is one of the most difficult in the department because it does require you to absorb so much information in order to do it. Again she thinks that I am trying to take in too much at once, and she is right.. that's just soooo me. I am not used to being the one that doesn't have a clue what she is doing. Iam usually the one that people come to with questions about how to do something.

But, I think it's really going to be great once I have my bearings. Anyhow, I am still certain that this was a good move.

As a side note, I found out that one of the girls in my department is a member of my church that I already know, and that one of the greeters on the showroom floor is a member of my former church and we sang in the choir together. She told me that I needed to come back to her church, but I explained that I am still involved in various volunteer positions at the church even if I am not working there any longer... and that she isn't the first person to suggest that to me... lol Gee do ya think they miss me over there, it's been 4 years?
