Thanks all for the good wishes and advice.

I called for my sister because she was losing her mind and cursing up a storm. Turns out that she did misplace her ressie numbers, she even called her husband on the ship (he is in the Navy) hoping that he had a copy from when he put in his request for time off. No such luck. She had made her ressies through the wdw dine phone number and had been calling the DVC number hotline to confirm. They told her that they couldn't find her ressies but suggested she call wdw dine.

Long story short, ok not too short, they had her name misspelled. As she says it, her name sounds like the back door swinging shut. It is one of those names that has about 15 letters and only 1 or 2 vowels. THey did finally find her name and ressies by looking up her phone number. So, all is right in the world once again, they will have a great trip including wonderful dining experiences.

ooooooo - one day last season this little girl came up to me and said "you are so pretty. You look just like my Barbie" That was the best thing anyone has said to me ever.

I refuse to purchase "huge tracts of land" like Barbie and just appreciate what God gave me.

I also would like to know what is this yearbook, where is it and what do you have to do to get in it? Is there bribery involved?

Bipolyjeniloowhoo- Get the darn complete numbers thing up here and bring it to the table so we can all chime in. This is serious business deciding what to do and if you want opinions, give us the total lowdown on how much dough you're talkin'. In the meantime, go to the budget board and find posts by DisneySteve and DVCGirl. They will shame you into not increasing your creditcard debt. Their advice is based on lots of reading of financail gurus and statistics of debt vs. savings, retirement, yada yada yada. Discuss with your sweet and gorgeous husband and do not make a decision without him, as it plain ain't fair. Then come back here, if you still are torn. I love the poly too, girl, and I sure know where you are coming from! So much so, that I convinced dh to take us to the home of the poly inspiration, hawaii!!!!!of course that was after coming home with 3600. My point is get buy in, know all your numbers, and do what in your heart is the right thing to do. How much is this extravaganza gonna cost? Can you guys afford it? Are you still paying for the last polymelon trip? That will tell us more than how much you're saving. I feel for you woman. I go after what I want to, always have, always will, and you know how my brain doesn't stop--so I'm sending you loves on this one. Man, poly, or POR, Poly or POR? Not a bad scenario, either way the way I see it!

(Hint, look in Loubon's siggie - and ignore the "Are you in there?" teaser - it's a tease and is NOT up to date. Or at least it wasn't yesterday. But who can keep up with anything around here?)

I tried to DVR the show last night and my DVR was acting crazy. I am supposed to be able to record TWO shows at once (which I love), but last night it was only letting me do one. I need to hit the trusty reset button, so I intend to catch it this weekend. Major bummed when I figured out I was going to have to wait that long! Bad DVR!

LaLa...we tried to surprise our kids (boys 7 & 4)and we had a little kink in the plan. We woke up on a Saturday morning and told them we were going to go on a trip to see an old friend of mine - Mick. We told them that he had a super cool house and that they would have a lot of fun. They were a tiny bit excited but not 'disney' excited. Neither of them remembered our last trip b/c they were 2 and 4 months. We stayed right outside of Orlando that night, got up the next morning and told them we had decided to go see Bob (SpongeBob)first before heading over to Mick's. We were going to take them to the Nick Hotel (surprise #1) and to Sea World (surprise #2) for the first day and night and we were going to give them thier Christmas gift (our Disney luggage tags all wrapped up as a pretend 'ticket' to Disney) the next morning before heading over to the Poly. As we were headed to the Nick hotel...we made a wrong turn and headed straight towards Disney. I was just sick...there was no where to turn around...Disney buses were everywhere and then of course, there is SpaceShip Earth...they were freaking out and I didn't have a camera ready and we had to say, yes, that is Disney....Merry Christmas...but let me kill all this excitement because we aren't going there until tomorrow. It burst my happy bubble b/c I had planned that moment for 9 months and it just didn't work out. They were so sad that we took them under the arches and then had to drive them right back out....of course Bob ended up making them happy until we could get back to Mick. It stressed me out and I was bummed because my plan didn't come together, so I don't think I will try the whole surprise thing again!!!!

I feel your pain. Trying to decide on a hotel is sooo hard, esp the Poly. Here's a good compromise - we stayed at Coronado last year and it was fantastic. It doesn't share its bus service with any other hotels so it's really good and prompt. It's way less than Poly, but really well done. It's a mod in delux clothing. It has a spa, hair salon and hot tube. Your kids will love the pool.

kpk89 - Yes, I'm on the North Shore. Very close to Seabrook, NH and Kittery/Ogunquit in ME. So, hi, neighbor back to ya!

Minnie - I love, love, love the Beach Club. We always stay at Epcot hotels, and I'm dying to try WL. But, our next trip is for the F&W festival, so I think we'll end up at the Beach Club or Boardwalk yet again. If you don't mind having to switch mid-week (I hate it), the BC/WL split would be great. Just plan your touring plans (by that I mean which parks on which days) based on where you're staying! Could really cut down on the bus time!!

Tivoing Princess Aurora is a great idea! I am going to do that tonight so I don't miss her weekend appearance!!

Oh, and Lou is great, Lou is great. Love that yearbook. Would love it even more if I was in there. (Just don't use any KKK pictures for the 2nd 1/2 of my name, please!!!)

I think Lou is great. He rocks the house. I am not going to say that he is a "hot hunk of a man" to quote an earlier post, cause that would be well, creepy dee. I just think he's a nice guy.

RiversideMelonMom has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? Save your money, it's a substantial amount... Think of it as another Disney trip in several more months.. Buy yourself something nice and small for making such a great sacrifice..Hey, I said something small..The Poly doesn't fit in a bag!

You'll be fine. Bring a poster of the Poly and hang it in your POR room..Leave the POR early in the a.m. and don't come back until you've dragged your whole family all over WDW and it's pitch black out, you'll never know you're not staying at the Poly b/c you won't be able to SEE!! Try checking in at the Poly and when they tell you they don't have a ressie for you ...cry alot and show them your Melons !! Plan a couples getaway for an anniversary or something and stay at the Poly without your kids ! (Don't tell them it was me that said that)

You'll be fine,, I would go to Disney if all I had was a cardboard box to sleep in !

Just to make your decision more difficult you should consider the FT. Wilderness Cabins:

We stayed there in 1990 (they were trailers then rather than cabins) and the kids loved it. Having a kitchen is really nice and a big advantage (at least I thought so) was not having to sleep in the same room with the kids.

Horsegirl--Have you seen Laura Coft the Cradle of Life? All I can say is wow, that man is hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't even know he was the phantom! And yeah, who would not want to stay down in the dungeon with him! I thought maybe I was just a little strange. So good to know I'm not alone!.

No I did not, thanks soooooooooooooooo much. I just went to netflix and ordered for the weekend. My dh has not figured out why I watch phantom so much, he thinks its the music Sorry weird major crush on eeerie dark movie guy. I am thinking the Lara Croft flick is gonna show some abs, and stuff? I know he works out, he has some new braveheart kinda thing coming out.

Ok, next guy I kinda like is -sorry true geek here- Ralph Fiennes (that is RAYF, guys, doens't that sound so much more appealing?) Somethng very cerebral about him, and sensitive. I like those types of guys too. I have to say Matt McC is not my type. How bout Mr. Big? Chris Noth. ANyone like him? I miss that series..........

Horseyponygirl, YES! I love Chris Noth as Mr. Big, but strangely, not in any of his other roles. Mr. Big is just the coolest. I miss the show, too. Still can watch it on Comcast on demand, though, so I get to see it often....just repeats.

Ralph Fiennes, don't think so. Sorry. How about Harrison Ford? Although he's getting old...but aren't we all!

polymelonmom How about splitting the time. Spending the first 1/2 of your time in a (gasp) moderate and then spending the last 1/2 at the poly?? Or like someone else suggested, perhaps the WL. We're staying mod for the first time this year and I keep hinting at switching, but I guess it's time to give it a try. My dh likes the idea that CSR's bar is open later. He sometimes get frustrated at the disney hours. We finally get the kids asleep and then there's no place to escape. Although, on our last visit to the fab poly, we found the beach to be great and private at midnight.

polymelonmom (did you EVER think anyone would call you that before you found Dis?), I know you may say when I say this and you read my sig, but I promise you will be happy at POR or wherever you stay!! DH and I agree we had a blast at ASMo and would happily stay there again! It's just a pixie dust Disworld and you are making memories with your wonderful family. You will sleep better at night without debt. We all know temptation is evil but oh-so-present and I sometimes want to just be the wild irresponsible spender but I usually reign myself in! I said usually...
I agree with the poster who suggested a treat for yourself for exercising self control. And do the teas, too. My DS6 just did the pirate cruise and I would happily trade my stay at the Poly for the pics from his pirate adventure!!

It will be fabulous!! After I read your story about the life you have had and what you have overcome, I know you will just want to be able to go back to Disney again after this trip, right?
