Greetings from South Cackilacky! That's South Carolina for ya'll who don't know.

And before you ask, I don't know why we call it that...we just always have. And no disrespect is intended towards the fine State of South Carolina.

Anyways, I'm here returning Erica to her parental units and the lay-abeds are snoozin', so I thought I'd check in to see what's going on here and post a new blog entry over on the TR board.

It's not technically a trip report, but it is Disney related, so I hope the mods (LYMI) let it stay. I promise the next one will be a true Disney TR.

But you guys are havin' more fun than humans should be allowed!

Jennifer...I'd like to see your wedding site. I've kinda always wanted to own a bridal shop and be a wedding planner. I'd call it Wedding Belles.

PongoperdigirlJennifer: Wow. That is awful. Stressfully awful. But, it's true that no one's wedding goes smoothly. When Mellyman and I got married... his own Mother almost didn't show up. Let's just say she doesn't have a lot of love for ME. It's because she is insane and mean. And everyone else puts up with her damage... but me. Anyway... Mel (along with others) finally convinced her to show. But she didn't say a WORD to either of us all throughout the wedding. And she didn't stand up when the Bride came down the aisle, either. There was more too. But... it was a long time ago. Didn't affect us. In the long run. And the wedding was FUNFUNFUN, anyhow. So... keep your chin up. Life works out. The way it should. Please post that link. I'd love to check it out. Give us updates. I LOVE wedding stuff. Love it.

Personally, I love the location of the WL, but a friend just came back and spent a few days at both and she said hands down the AKL was better. It was cleaner, the people were nicer...just in general the resort was better. So that's my pick!

I've never stayed at the WL but I also like the location. We did stay at AKL and absolutely LOVED it. It was beautiful and the lobby smelled so good. We paid for a standard room and were given a free upgrade to a savannah view. We loved the room and view but there are alot of places to view the animals if you don't have a savannah view. Also, we really like Mara the CS place.

It's Calvin. Screaming like someone has set him on fire. Eardrums shatter. Mellyman swerves. Nearly into the lane of oncoming traffic. Adrenaline rushes. Someone soils themself. The screaming just continues. DH bellows for Calvin to stop. And I realize what the matter is. Why I HATE taking this road. I turn to Mellyman, " It's the wavy guy." He looks at me, " Oh. I forgot."

The WAVY GUY is this thing outside a car dealership. It is very tall and made of something like parachute material. It's a guy with arms and a face but no legs... just like a body tube. It's red. And there's a machine that blows air up it. So it moves, waves, and "dances". So to speak. That's the wavy guy. And the subject of many, many, many of Calvin's nightmares. Since he was three years old and first saw the wavy guy. He often wakes me crying. Saying that the wavy guy is outside the window of his bedroom. And is going to eat him. Yep.

Not spanking. Instead... DH and I start KISSING !!!!! That's right!!!! We kiss and kiss. Lips to lips. They are HORRIFIED. And sickened. They beg us to stop and promise to be good. If we NEVER, EVER do it again. Heh, heh. From then on... perfect behaviour. Perfect. It's the way to control your kids. I swear. Results everytime. And...

we have wavy guys around here....they are freaky!! and Abi had the same reaction for quite awhile that Calvin does to Wavy Guy....they do eventually grow out of it mostly.

The kissing thing works in our house too!! I don't think it would have worked for a bunch of 11 year olds that aren't mine....they usually just giggle when they see such a sight!!

Hey Mel, we do that too. I don't remember how it started, but I know it works like a charm.


If the kids are fighting with each other, I threaten them with the "Happy, loving family" punishment. That is where I make them hug each other. Of course this works much better in public places. If they are really acting up we start off with a group hug.

And we have a neighbor that had one of those wavy things in the form of a Santa Claus. Creepee dee. Christmas on my street would put the Crank's street to shame. We actually do have one single guy on our street that was forced to decorate. Well a couple of guys shamed him into it anyway, by offering to do it for him.
