Hey, you're an attorney, right? Ask your secretary tomorrow. I'm sure she can show you how. :lmao:

Funny. My, ahem, legal assistant, would be most offended, if she were even there tomorrow. It's a Friday after all, and the weather is nice, so I fully expect she'll call in sick. :lmao: Hey, riddle me this, fellow BatMaelstromers: why do children get sick right before you're scheduled to go on vacation? Do they have some sort of internal sensor array the lets them know? My wife and I are due to fly out on Saturday morning to sunny Belize, and just now, my 6-year old daughter started coughing so much, I wondered if she was missing a lung. Great, one more thing to feel guilty about.

Well, sometimes it is better if they get sick before you leave so that you can rush to the doctor to get a diagnosis and medicine before you go....which could be better than you getting a phone call during your trip. Maybe that can be somewhat of a silver lining? Hope she feels better soon!

Sorry. Couldn't resist. I only say that because my boss doesn't even know his own email address. Seriously. He must rely on his legal assistants for that tedious task of remembering his email address. Can't complain though. At least he's willing to pay for us to spout out his email address to other attorney's legal assistants from time to time. :thumbsup2

It seems like that's always what happens when you're going on vacation. Vacations and Christmas. Never fails. The kids WILL get sick. It's a given. Hope all is well soon though. Belize, huh? That's awesome. Have a great time!!!

Chapter 11, you got the smilie thing!!! Yay! I fully expect to see you bustin' some freaky smilies in your posts from now on.

Think I'm gonna have to call it a night.

Night Maelstromers!

Night LaLa. I think I'm calling it a night as well. Productive tomorrow (I mean, later today)? I think not. Oh well.

This is posted on the Canadian board too, but I thought I'd mention it here since there seems to be so many of us Canucks around and I ACTUALLY got my DH to agree to go!!! (gasp!!!) So, we'll be meeting at Square One in Mississauga, in the food court at the table closest to the Disney store (lower level). Come on out if you're free! It's supposed to rain anyway!!

I've changed my mind. I had planned to post and respond to trip reports here and Maelstrom over there. I vented my spleen and felt better but it quickly became apparent that the grass was not greener. Like Lala, I find the coffee is just a little too hot for me. I reckon this opens me up to charges of being a prude or whathaveyou. So be it. I'm just more comfortable in a G-rated world. I do like Disney World after all. Plus, I don't want to be embarassed when my wife or daughter looks at my computer screen if you know what I mean. As much as I enjoy reading what's going on with the likes of many of my cyber friends, I feel more comfortable here. I hope in time some of them will come back home.

I agree. I'm no prude, but I feel more comfortable here.
:surfweb: <----- Me drinking my lukewarm coffee.

:rotfl:

Just when I thought I was caught up.... I got hooked on all this on the TR boards, followed you all over here so I could find out how crackhead made out....then everyone left to go to the coffee shop...come back on this am and I'm 6,7 pages behind again!!!Wheeeeew just lurking has been exhausting! Mel,Zzub (by the way I am so sorry for your loss Zzub ) I LOVED the trs! Can't wait to read the new one from the trip in May. You all are such talented writer's. As the mother of 5 kid's I could completely relate to the whole sock thing!!! My kids thought I was nuts the way I was laughing at the computer!
So, I am coming out of my ? lurkdom? and wish to join such a great group of people. I do have a confession to make though, I have never done maelstrom (gasp). Hope that isn't held against me. I promise to try it when we are there in May!
Well I have no life right now because dd12 has been home sick since last wed. (she was in the hostpital for 4 of the days :sad2: ) and we still don't know what is wrong with her so I will be checking in and trying to get caught up again! Have a nice day all!
Oh yeah, I know there is another momof so I'm Dawn! :goodvibes

Hey Momofmmsd5 (did I get that right?) I haven't ridden Maelstrom either. We went to Disney in December and on our first day, we rode Pirates of the Carribean...it scared my 4 yr old son so badly when it went down the hill in the dark that he freaked every time we got on a boat. We didn't do Maelstrom because I saw a swarm of Pop Warner cheerleaders running to get on it while screaming for joy...so I just assumed it had some type of 'thrill' to it?!?!

I asked DD to make up an excel speadsheet and list who's who and whatnot so I can keep up. She said no.

Welcome Dawn MOM of 5

MommyPoppins - DGD wants crocs. She saw yours, then saw them in the store, so...

If anyone has time to read a newspaper - Family Circus - in the comics today, they are talking about davenports. How wierd is that?

Hope everone is feeling better today. Have a good one. Gotta run

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!

Snap, you posted the 1,000th post Girl! Mel, tell her what she gets for her prize....

Okay, I really am on here looking for tips on OFF SITE hotels bc there ain't nuthin left on site for week after next :guilty:

Are we nuts for even still considering going if it's gonna be that busy? Who has experience with Easter Week? Or (gasp) off site hotels?

Yes, ZZUB, we may end up being non resort rabble. :sad2:

When we go for weekends we always stay off-site because it's hard to get a on-site room last minute, plus you can't get discounts. I always use priceline and go for a 3 star. We have always gotten the Sheraton Safari Hotel that way and it is a really nice place. Comfy beds, feather pillows, nice pool with a slide, plus it is RIGHT outside property and down the street from DTD. We got it for 55 a night when we went a few weeks ago. If you are a bigger spender go for a resort and sometimes I think you can get really lucky and get swan or dolphin. Staying off-site isn't that bad, it's better than not going at all. Also, I would spend the 20 bucks and join TGM now, even though there is no time, it's worth it just for him to tell you which park to go to which day/night and how to tour the park. Worked like a charm for us, even with high crowd levels we didn't wait in lines and had a blast. Have fun! I can't wait till May!! Yahoo!

if you would like to try a buffet with plenty of choices for vegetarians, diet concious, health food conscious.....go for the gusto people and regular people and kids foods too if they dont' want the regular buffet and also the best dessert bar around.......go to Hollywood and Vine and try that out..delicious...

I have a dalmatian named Megara Athena .......and our first dal was Jasmine Rajha.......they are high maintenance and hyper as all get up..

have a good day

LOL As I started reading this post, I was thinking,"Are you about to make a obscure reference to the DIS being like a buffet for all types and other places being different. I am losing it.

I've had too much strong coffee. I like mine a little weaker. :lmao:

oh for corn seed mommyp, you are jumping all over girl.

Grammy- thanks. I would so love a kitten, but my husband threatens to leave me everytime another creature enters our kingdom. I have never had a litter of anything in my life, as much as I love animals, as I get all my pets neutered. One day, I will do it, with a horse or maybe pups. But kittens are alot less work I suspect.

Lala, I like mommyp'r thought about offsite or nada. But your argument about crowds is true too. When we were there in feb, all the resorts were sold out but for our lil smokey room, on one night, but the parks weren't bad at all.

Snap, maelstrom...

welcome new mom- i am on this thread cuz i like these people and they are very funny. i will not give out if i have ridden or not as it will be part of a future tr if i ever write again.

you people are too entertaining.

must clean ...must push Jackson on swing... must go to play group ....must get ready for dinner party tonight....must leave this computer.........................

5 kids? Well, that's just unacceptable. Now I am no longer than youngest nor do I have the most kids.

Off to get pregnant now....

BTW, welcome! :sunny:

Hey I have been looking for you! How is the family? And How is the little crackhead doing?

Maelstrom! I am still after a paint brush!

Zzub, I too was thinking the same thing about the coffee shop. That and the fact that I'm usually on here at work and I don't think the company would take too kindly to some of the things over there and I would very much like to keep my job, ya' know? I can check it out at home after dd's in bed, but I'm usually falling asleep with her these days. Every night - "Mommy, will you lay down with me?" And every time, I conk out. Sometimes before she does! Some of the things though are just a bit beyond my comfort level (to use your words).

Grammy, It's been a long time since I've heard davenport! Gosh, I kept thinking "I know this one, I know this one" and then I remembered. That's what we used to call the couch! That word just looks so weird now...

We must've been there at the same time last year. We were there December 4-8. We didn't see too many cheerleader groups. Just every now and then.

I don't think I've ridden Maelstrom either. I know we didn't last December and before that it's been too long for me to even remember what I've ridden. We are planning a trip at the end of April/early May and if we go to Epcot, we will ride it. And get a picture of me wearing horns... :teeth:

I may try the Priceline thing for our trip that's coming up. It's only 4 nights and we would like to keep the costs to a minimum, yet stay close by (DTD area would be great). I've read that people do like the Safari place. Is there a certain way to bid that pretty much gets you that place? Does it have refridgerators in the rooms? That's always a nice perk. My other thought at the moment is the Buena Vista Suites. Mousesavers has some discounts listed that I was going to call to see if they were available for my dates.

Chapter 11, make sure you don't have the box checked that says "Disable smilies in text". That box is just below the reply box that you type in under Miscellaneous Options. I don't know if that would be the problem or not, but thought it's worth a try...

MAELSTROM!!!

MAELSTROM!!!
is a fastpass?!?

Morning everyone - it's been busy over here overnight - I feared for the safety of the group yesterday - no one was out to play. Glad to see everyone back-

Because, you know, I never have anything interesting to add, I just enjoy the banter!

LaLa - I'd still go if I could find a place (ANYPLACE) to stay. A busy day at Disney is better than . . .well, a slow day ALMOST anywhere else.
