The Maelstromers... a FASTPASS!

I just got off the phone with my dad. Seems the hospital thinks my uncle lost blood flow to his brain for a split second, and that caused him to pass out. When he was driving grandma home he started to have trouble breathing, and pulled over to the side of the road. He then passed out. My 84 yr old grandma then tried to get someone to stop and help her, and no one would stop! Luckily someone who lived nearby saw her and could tell she needed help. They checked on her and called the ambulance. The doctors are releasing him tonight so my parents are driving back to where the car was left and driving it to my uncles house. This is all about 2 hours away from here. So now at least I know everything is ok and I can try to catch some zzzs before going to work for 6am.

Thank you all for your prayers! I am so glad my uncle made it to the side of the road before anything worse happened. God is truly watching over us!

Glad to hear everything seems to be okay. Your poor grandma! Just imagining how she must have felt to have her son passed out while trying to get someone to help her...poor thing.

Just glad it all turned out okay. Sounds like a little Easter miracle doesn't it?

Hey Lala, how on earth did I miss you posted a new your new installment until just today?? Oh, that's right - I spent Friday in a state of semi-shock after receiving the $4200 estimate to repair my DD's car.

Hey Lala, how on earth did I miss you posted a new your new installment until just today?? Oh, that's right - I spent Friday in a state of semi-shock after receiving the $4200 estimate to repair my DD's car.

OK, my excitement is that our very own superfantabulous javamom helped me fix my new avatar! I sent her the Paint image and voila! Her pixie dust has The Fixer right under my name. I am so happy.

maxiesmom, I am so glad your uncle appears to be OK. Sometimes when I'm driving I think OK, what if I had a heart attack right now or what if someone in the car in front of me did ...things like that. I do know I would stop to help and can't imagine someone wouldn't, but that's just me. Actually, I might not be much true help but I could care!

Our family's Easter was a beautiful reminder of the Resurrection. I hope you all had a meaningful day as we did here. Mark I thought of you and it made me wonder (you may have said) where/what denomination your church is. I used to live in Atlanta.

DS12 has achievement tests this week so I'll be up making a real breakfast.. Honestly, you'd think our kids never ate breakfast with all the teacher reminders !

We thought we got lucky - we almost made it to the one year mark with her. The ins co. did not total though. I'm not sure if I'm happy about that or not. I'll let you know in July when her premium comes due.

Mark I thought of you and it made me wonder (you may have said) where/what denomination your church is. I used to live in Atlanta.

Hey Jamal - we are United Methodist and our church is in Macon. We had a great day - 300 something in worship this morning. It really as a great day.

I'm glad things worked out with the uncle! Been reading and catching up on posts. We'll keep praying though. Rhonda and Wesley have gone to bed, and once again, I am up and wide awake. Gotta love it, huh?

You wanna hear something really pathetic? When I read that figure, I immediately thought "That's a trip to the Poly! Concierge maybe, even."

Course I wouldn't know because I've never had the pleasure of staying there, unlike some people around here.

Yeah, Drunk Chick....I don't know. I think she was lettin' her booze do the thinking for her at that point. We were shocked. But the funny thing is that you know, we talk about Disney and how clean it is there and how they really go out of their way to keep a certain image and all....they were not playing around with that woman. When I say Mack Daddy Mike was on the scene, the woman had just tucked her shirt under and let out the rebel yell when all of a sudden securty was on the scene. They came from out of nowhere. Two big guys. They were very polite and cordial, but they got their message across very effectively to her. They were not going to allow a picture like that to go out of that restaurant if they could help it.

I'm trying to work on a lil' sump'm sump'm different for the last installment, well, you know, besides the mandatory epilogue thing. Might be really cool if I can figure it out.

Yeah, salt in the wound. In Texas you must have insurance if you have a DL even with no car. So his insurance rate went up, even though he has no car and lives on Campus at his University in another state. They still "assume" he will be driving my car sometimes. Um, no, not really.

We switched to Progressive from Geico and saved a few $100.

Oh and another fun thing was he had an outstanding ticket, so he had to go pay a for a ticket after the car was gone.

That's awesome. I'm sure it was a very moving service. The older youth at our church do the Via Delarosa every year and today at Kids' Church, they had the cross that they run with in there. It's on wheels and it's ginormous. They let each one of the older kids (when I say older, I mean older than about 4 or 5) try to pick it up and DS was amazed at how much it weighed. Really got him to thinking and it brought on some great conversations today. Was it you that mentioned you carry the crosses out in your service or someone else?
