The Maelstromers... a FASTPASS! Part 2

Afternoon folks! Long day for me - District Committee on Ordained Ministry this morning where we interview candidates for ordination, then a lunch meeting with our new youth minister, then the doctor with Wesley Boy who told us that his throat was NOT sore cause he didn't want to go to the doctor. Lots of fun stuff.

Happy Birthday Amy!

Happy Anniversary Poopy people. (hee hee - my little 8th grade tickle box just got kicked over)

Rhonda and I have 8 years coming up on the 30th. Yaaaay us! Have we ever told that story? hmmm. Maybe that's a story that will be allowed over here!

Anyway, hope everyone has a great day!

Blessings!

In other news, and along the Mother's Day thoughts, my daughter made a card for me in school that was a "mad libs" of sorts. They were supposed to fill in the sentences.

I am 36 years old and I weigh 73 pounds. I'll take that - I'm sure some kids erred on the other side of that. What I don't understand is why that question needed to be asked.

My mom is very smart. One thing she does very well is cook. She cooks the best food. Again, I'll take this. Not completely true, but I'll take it. But I turn the page and they were supposed to write one of those paragraphs that describes how something is done. My daughter described my cooking of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. "First, she takes the macaroni and pours it in a pan..." My culinary skills are to be admired. I'm sure her teacher was very impressed.

Okay, DD's preschool did the exact same thing. They made a cookbook in which the moms submitted a real recipe and underneath that, they asked the kids to describe how their mom cooks their favorite meal. There were so many descriptions of what was clearly Kraft Easy Mac. I just knew that's what DD would say. But it wasn't. Guess what she offered up for our little cookbook? Brocoli. Did I spell that right? Anyway, yes, apparently my child's favorite dish consists of me taking out a pan, putting in some brocoli that I got from Wal Mart, cooking it with water and then putting cheese on top. Wa La. Who'd a thunk it. Brocoli. You should've read some of the other ones. Geez. Who would've thought you could put sugar and hot sauce on pork chops and cook them on top of the stove for four hours and have it turn out to be your kid's favorite meal? :rotfl2:

PASLEAPOOH, you are a MINX. Yeah, I said minx, not mink. HOOP, take that woman someplace GOOD. She deserves it. Wait, who am I tellin? BTW, is your last name Hallmark? Hoop Hallmark. That has a nice ring, right?

Who is this Austin I'm hearing about? Cute, you say? Hmmm....

Eh? WHO'S IGNORING YOU? Let me at 'em, let me at 'em! Enjoy your pedicure. I will be getting one of those before my first beach trip in 2 weeks. Along with a fake tan, so my wobbly fat doesn't look so unattractive.

I'm sure your fat is wildly exxagerated, Gacat. Shaved my legs to keep my lovely vietnamese girl from fainting. donned my short shorts and hopping into my red mustang (Oh, wait, wrong, make that white a Honda Civic :( )
Anyway, millionaire red, here I come!

:rotfl2: nicolemarie, never fear! My ds brought home a cookbook for a Mothers Day gift. (last year). His teacher had interviewed each child and typed up the child's description of the best recipe mom makes. EVERY one of them was the quick kid food -- Kraft mac & cheese, hot dogs, etc. No shame, this is what kids like. My son? Tyson Fully Cooked Chicken Nuggets. Frozen. Yes, all the moms in his class who received this cookbook think I feed my kid FROZEN nuggets.

It was the cutest thing, though. She also included pictures the kids drew of the food. What a great teacher. I hoooope my dd gets her next year.

Let's see if I can get this to work right.

For LaLa, here he is, our very own closet maelstromer:

Has anyone heard from Grammy? Was everything okay with her DD and the trip to the Emergency room? I'm beginning to worry about her.

MarkyMark....We are sooooo gonna need to hear that story about you and the Hot Pink Thong Girl!! :teeth:

Thanks for posting GA!

Funny, the second thing I thought of when Austin said Maelstrom was the story how Marky/Mark also put it in his Sermon!

Maelstrom is...........a fastpass?

:sad1:

I'm out for the day. It's not been a good one. I hate BellSouth, the City of Southaven, DeSoto County and their STUPID 911 system.

Hope everyone has a great night CHATTING!

Nice. Very nice. Much better image than Thong Tha Tha Thong Thong Girl.

Okay, I know this is gonna make me look stupid, but he was obviously on Survivor? Sorry, watched the show here and there this season. Gimme the low down GeorgiaA. What, he threw the word Maelstrom into the season finale or what? And now we think he's lurking and digging us? On the cusp of posting and we're trying to draw him out? What? Am I gettin' warm?

Very cute though. Come out come out wherever you are.....

She is at the estate with her spices and meatloaf and blue pills and dh, and clearly did not get the blackberry as promised.....

Hi pooh, you and hoopy made me swoon today, along with Zzub. Thanks for your PDA. It is heartwarming...

Zzub. Did you know I can only think Zoob, in the pronunciation. I try to pronounce it the phonetic opposite of well, you know, but I cannot. So youare Zoob, like well, like tube.... Sounds like you handled it beautifully and with great thought. I am so glad you picked the honest version. It is such an important lesson for children.....

Grammy and Mel! HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are missing youUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

Too far behind to attempt to respond to everyone. But I read it all. Sweet poem from Hoop to Pooh. Mr Silly is not romantic. At all. But he sets up my laptop with whatever I ask for and he cooks and does laundry. But not even a tiny bit romantic. Poor me. Have fun where ever you go!

Zzub Thanks for the update on your Mother's day issues. Sounds like it worked out well. I love the things kids say about their parents. I also love the way you have with words. Your adoration of your wife and daughter is so sweet.

When Sophia was four they did the fill in the blank interview thing for a Mother's day gift. It seems I am 19 (well that was 4 years ago) and in reply to "My Mother is funniest when..." she said "My Mother is not funny" I plastered my laundry room with this kind of stuff. I look at it often and it always makes me smile.

Tink I will :furious: those dang people for you, sure, um, who was it again I needed to face kick? We miss you.

I thought we had reached a new low with the clown posts. Turns out I was wrong. Could you people please stop quoteing that horror of a photo. I think seeing it 10 times is tramatic enough.

Horseygirliegirl and Sheridac- You guys need to form a support group. Wait, I already did. You can not walk the steps alone, you need to show up at the meetings.

Today I made templates (sp?) for my touring plans. I also made an outline. And a dining plan tracking form. And a quick ADR confirmation # list. Very productive day. Except I think we are all out of clean spoons. Even my dog feels neglected.

Where oh where did our sweet Grammy go? I am worried about this, she has been missing for awhile now.

And Mel, get your canuck butt back over here girl. We need stories. We know you have them.

If I missed you it is not because I don't love you. I just need to see why the kids are not makeing any noise. Some things should never be ignored.

Aaaaaahhhhhh. I see. So how did he work MAELSTROM into the season finale? I gotta know now.

Does everyone else have problems with the DIS being slow? We have DSL, so I know it's not a dialup issue. Sometimes it takes FOREVER to go from page to page. Is it just us?

Blessings!
