Sorry so late to join...but just brewed a pot of Oolong and wanted to stop by and say hi!

Will try to catch up on the massive amount of posts I have missed over the next couple of weeks.

I may have kinda of a strange question in the next couple of days....something I have been thinking about and wanted to ask some opinions on....

I'll have to see if I can find an old photo and scan it in. I think my mom has it somewhere. I was sooooo cool. I was one the most popular girls in school that year. Everyone wanted a piece of him that year and I was the one who actually touched him, he even kissed my cheek. I don't think I washed it for days. My mom finally made me wash it. I had saved the pen he used to sign the autograph, if I find that, it might still have some DNA left on it. Can you imagine that with all the technology they have on DNA today. Maybe we can extract some of it and clone us our own John Travolta. Cool Huh!!!!!

Best thing is I bet my wife is one of the worst!!! I think she spends more times on these boards at work then actually working at work!

Okay....I have caught up to page 30 and I hope this question isn't a bummer to some people.

Even though I am only 44....the genetic code of my family says I won't live to much over 65...strange but I want to plan my own memorial.

I plan on being cremated and having the cremains of my previous cats mixed with mine.

I would like to have money put aside to have a memorial with a high tea served to family and friends....I won't be able to have it at GF like I would like but the Ritz here in Atlanta serves high tea.

Is that just too weird of an idea? So many have gone before me with so little plans that I want everyone to just be able to come..enjoy tea...candles...flowers....and memories...

Sleep calls....will check in tomorrow afternoon...have to work 5pm-3am tomorrow! Yuck!

Not at all!

My mother just passed away at the end of Jan.((while I was vacationing at Disney no less)) While she didn't "plan" the memorial so to speak, she always told us what she wanted. When wanted us to play Turn, turn, turn at the start...so we did. She wanted us to remind everyone not to be sad, she was at rest and with loved ones now.
And lastly she always wanted us to treat it more like a party, and we did our best to do just that. After the memorial we invited anyone who wanted to come back to my gandparents(her parents) for a memorance party with food, and a cd of her favorite music playing all the while talking about the great things my mother did, and the fun times we all had with her.

It really made it much easier tehn not knowing what she would have liked us to do.
