Mar, we can't do ANY thing..........I got in trouble my first year of teaching because my team leader said we did Fall Festival........not even "you can" but "we all do"...............there's still a note in my personnel file over it.

Ahhh Paige: my best and closest girl friend is the Principal at our Town's Elementary School. She was chosen 3 years ago (this is her 3rd year) She is my age 52yo. She has been at this school since she started teaching. She taught physical ed and computers to Grades K-3. She has a MASTERS in ED and she is an ATTORNEY!

Everyone LOVED her so much.

When she received notice from the Principal Search Committee she was thrilled.

First October she totally STOPS Halloween and all the parties. WOW..the town RIPPED into her because the Middle School Principal still allows it. Parents complained that while their 4-6 grader goes to school and wears their costume and has classroom parties...the K-3rd graders could not.

IT WAS BAD....But My GF stuck to her guns and said IF you want to dress up it has to be a HERO or a PRESIDENT or an AUTHOR...nothing else. AND it is called a FALL PARTY.

Everyone has moved on from this but still the stories in the paper and the dealings with the parents...ahhh...

BTW: I am still for PARTIES 24/7!!!

Speaking of postcards....

Drew and I have been at the post office so much over the last few months. I have been selling stuff on Ebay to make all of our spending money for our trip. Anyway, Drew has gotten to know the lady who works there so well that she sent him a Halloween card that had a dollar in it. How sweet is that? He was SO excited. Sooo, we went to the PO after I picked him up from school so he could say thanks!

Aww, that is too sweet! All we get from our postlady is nasty little notes about the lawn service parking in her way...

In OUR town...if there is ANYTHING at all in the way of your mailbox...they drive RIGHT PAST...no getting out of the truck and coming to your door or anything...mind you it rarely happens BUT our lawn people as well have all this equipment and they take up the whole front of the driveway blocking the mail box....GONE THE PO TRUCK GOES...and then after 4pm you can get it downtown at the PO.
