LOOOONG drive though..............I've been looking at driving through Kentucky to Virginia and up to DC.............LONG. That's just from my house. Harlingen in HOURS from me.................I want to say 10 or so..............we flew when we went.

Yikes ...welll Paige, I do not drive well at alllll.....I am a horrible driver so we would have to fly and then of course I do not fly wellll.....

I need some help...I have issues....

My car is a 2003 and I have 30,000 miles on it because I always have to go with my DH or my DS'.....

Well, I'd meet you at the airport if you wanted to layover, but they don't let us in unless we're ticketed anymore...........and it's a little ways to anywhere else.............30 min to a HUGE mall..............we could go shopping!

Hillbilly's....my DS and his DGF are going as "bride and groom hillbilly's" tomorrow night at a huge Halloween party in Newport (RI) and can I tell you they spent like $65.00 on the costumes!!

Okay, 14 years old. Hmmm.............

The year of Mrs. Laws. Mrs. Laws was a teacher in my high school/jr. high combo..........small town you know.

Mrs. Laws taught Spanish and English.

I was good at English. Very good. So, we were doing grammar, as we had done since 2nd grade. Same stuff, diagramming sentences, parts of speech, which form is correct, blah, blah, blah.

Mrs. Laws, however, pulled me aside one day and said, "You know this stuff backwards and forwards don't you?" I nodded yes (I was EXTREMELY shy). She then took me to the library, showed me the reference books and asked me to choose something to write a report on. I chose dormice.

The next day, she told me I was a gifted writer. She pulled me from grammar completely. She would give me new assignments each week and I would work in the library. I did comparative analyses of stories, research papers, characterizations, new endings...........anything you can think of.

She told my father I would BE somebody...........

She made me want to be a teacher, and she's the one I credit with giving me the ability to read what EACH child in my class needs and build their program for them.

That's my 1983 story..............
