Hi stepping in for just a minute between cooking. I am cooking a ham and mac & cheese. My parents are coming over today. We have had some issues in getting along since July and we are finally going to talk about them today, and of course DH was called into work for an emergency. So, I'm on my own.

Well, to make a long story short, my brother helps my parents out financially from time to time. So, he feels as though he gets to oversee everything they do. Over the summer, Emily was supposed to visit them for a week, while Taylor was at summer camp. Alot of places wouldn't take Emily because of her epilipesy. Anyway, my brother, his wife, their daughter and her boyfriend came to visit the same week. A little history here is necessary: my niece just finished medical school (paid for in cash by brother - he has $$$$$$$$$$$$); she has been dating this fellow for 2 years and my brother doesn't like him too much (no guy would ever be good enough, but his is almost an obsession about it). She got accepted at a hospital in PA for clinical rotations and my brother thought this would be a way to get rid of said boyfriend. Well this guy quit his job and moved with her. My brother moved all of them to PA (all the while he is getting madder and madder at the whole situation). Then they decide to show up at my mom & dad's house (which is in his name, like I said he helps them). He didn't want Emily there, so he called and left me a message on my voice mail to come and get my *&^@ing kid, my wife and daughter are not your *&^@ing babysitter for your brat. So, I drive to my parents house and he tells me to take my brat and to get out of his house and to never come back. He physically threw me out the door and down the stairs. All the while Emily saw all of this. She is scared to death of him now. Anyway my parents did nothing about this, and then even called to say that Emily wasn't being her sweet little self, almost justifying the way he treated her. WTH!!!! So, we have avoided them since them. Today is the first time I have seen them and I have to face this head on. I'm very scared, they are afterall my parents and I was adopted as a baby, I'm afraid they will tell me that they don't want me in the family anymore. Sorry that this got so long, and thanks if you read this far.

Thanks Bonnie. I was getting a little down about how lonely my one tag was. I knew I shouldn't complain, at least I had one. But I got it around my 800th post. I'm almost at 4000 and it was a long time ago. It was also that horrid orange --- yuck!!!! So I feel better now.

Yikes, Mary!! Sounds like a really tough situation. Let us know how the meeting with your parents goes. I highly doubt they will tell you they don't want you in the family. It does not matter if you were adopted, you've been part of the family all your life. Good luck with everything today. And stay far away from your brother!
