Okay, new topic: What do you love to make in the fall? I know someone shared their stroganoff recipe (sorry don't remember who) and I bought the stuff for that today.

I love to make treats: popcorn balls and caramel apples.............mmmm

I also love tomato soup and grilled cheese when it's cold outside.........w/LOTS of cheese........and hot chocolate............WITH mallows.
Stroganoff was mine.

I fed the kids and dh, but didn't eat then as I had a little stomach upset, and then forgot about it later..............so can you tell I didn't have dinner? I just ate a bowl of kettle corn, but I'm starving! :rotfl:

By the time you chew popcorn up, you aren't eating much. We had chicken alfredo. One of those bags of frozen food that you just heat up in the skillet. Lazy woman's dinner here. :teeth:

I am seriously addicted to apple cider. I will drink it even in the summer but it is so much better at Christmas.Christmas isn't Christmas until you watch how the grinch stole christmas and drink apple cider. Those are our traditions:)

Did you post it on this thread? I will have to look it up. I am embarassed to say the only stroganoff that I have made lately was the Hamburger Helper variety.

Hey Kim: My sis brought a can of Williams Sonoma/Peppermit Hot Chocolate mix to my house last Christmas(Dec 2005)....I just pulled it out and says EXPIRATION JULY 2006....so out this will be going but we only used 1/2 the can....

So maybe that will help you decide on your Hot Chocolate mix.

I like the kind you stick in the crock pot, then all I do is turn it on and walk off and do what I want. Usually I go to work.

Oh sure, when we moved we found a ton of boxes left over.........I guess it would get buried in the small pantry we had then and we'd buy more.......we are still drinking it (moved a year ago)!

Cinnamon bears are just biscuits dusted with cinnamon sugar, with raisin facial features. You just cut a ready-to-make canned biscuit in half, arrange those two halfs as ears on the top of another biscuit and press together, let the kids put the raisins (I did this for years with my Pre-K classes......they don't let us cook in 2nd :guilty: ), and then dust the biscuit with cinnamon sugar. Cook as usual, and they are GOOOOD. ESPECIALLY if you do the higher fat version and coat them in butter before adding the raisins and cinnamon sugar! But you have to watch closer then so they don't burn.

Oh Yummy, I'm going to print this out for one of my friends who is a Kindergarden teacher. She loves to cook with her kids. She will love this.

That sounds delish! Ok, I will have to try that this weekend.

Mary, I get the crockpot version ones too. My kids like the chicken and vegetable one.

Thanks for the recipe Mary.

Steph.........my son's absolute FAVORITE meal is Hamburger Helper Cheddar Cheese Melt.........I'd be so embarassed when that appeared every year at the beginning of school in his "get to know you" papers!

Kim, I also LOVE apple cider.

Does it jump in the cup and heat itself up too? That is the only way I *might* pay that much for a can of hot chocolate. :teeth:

Williams Sonoma...the store is so expensive. Sis thought this would be so awesome to have for Xmas...which it was...but not being able to finish the can that expires so quickly is CRAZYYYYY

I HATE apple cider cold. I usually dont drink the cider fast enough and it gets cold. I'll unknowly take a sip and shiver from the taste. :crazy2: Thanks for the info on the hot chocolate. I'll just make some and try it. If I dont like it, I'll toss it. It was special kind to, the ones that come in individual packaes and are colored. Hazelnut, mocha, mint, these are the cool ones :teeth:

Kar, I don't see why that still wouldn't be good..........either they think you won't buy more unless you have it when it's REALLY fresh, or they just want you to buy new each season!

:lmao:

That reminds me of my DD. When she was in 2nd grade or so, she had to write what her favorite thing that I cooked was. She wrote lasagna. Now at that age, we lived close to my mom, and I never cooked, we just went over there and ate every night. I told my daughter that I never made lasagna, that I didn't cook, and she said, "You did once!" :rotfl:

Check and see, Kim, if there is a exp date on them. I hate the thought of throwing this can away but I never thought to check expiration on it soooo at least I could keep the TIN, that looks to be worth something... :lmao:

I have been to that store ONCE...way tooo pricey for meeee
