Hi girls!

How are you today?
We're hoping to get a call from the school DH interviewed at either today or tomorrow. The suspense is killing me!

Oh, I hope he gets it. I dropped the dog off for his tooth extractions.........will pick him up later this afternoon. I have staff retreat tonight and I have to make a fruit salad, so will need to go pick up stuff for it later. I saw a recipe on the what's for dinner thread, and then my mom gave me a different one.............not sure which I'll use.

Good news! My principal said if I want to skip the convocation the morning of the 8th (the day after my surgery), then that's fine.............just come to the 1:00 staff meeting. She said she'd much rather I come to that than the other, and doesn't want me to overdo it. I'm so happy as that convocation is in a gymatorium on bench seating and soooo slow and boring.........it's just recognizing all those with 10 years of service, then 15 and so on until the oldest, the Superintendent speaks, there's a choir that sings, there are prayers and a motivational speaker that is rarely motivational...........it's sort of like a 3 1/2 hour church service!

Yay! That is good news. I know all about sitting through boring "training" and such!

I have a feeling Dh will get this position since it's only .5 time. With our luck lately, he'll get it and then a full time will be offered to him somewhere else.

Actually with our luck lately, he won't get anything!

Good morning Mad Chatters! Man was it a horrible night. We got a really major storm last night which knocked our power out all night! It went out at 10:45 pm and didn't come back up until 7am this morning. I think it was struck by lightning. This was a much better deal than the one we had last year, which took them 3.5 days to get the power in our apartment working again. Needless to say everything in the frisge was ruined. But I don't think it will be so bad this time. It was only 8 hours and we didn't open the fridge. Trees were sliced in half with huge branches lying in the street this morning. It was insane!
So how was your evening?

Yeah, I have a tumor. I told them to yank that sucker out and throw it in the garbage! Gross, but that IS what I said!

I THINK it could be pressing on my stomach and that is why I always feel sick after I eat. It feels quite large under there.

The specialist said it may be a hernia, though, and he won't know for sure until he gets in there.........but he thinks it's the tumor, and the other doc says he's sure it's not a hernia..............don't you love it when they can't agree? Makes you feel so confident..............

I like how you ended your post (So how was your evening?) My evening was ok, didn't get home from choir practice until 9:30 pm. The had a late nite visit to see how DH's grandmother was doing, bless her heart Glad the storms weren't over here, she is absolutely terrified of them (so is her little dog)!

Those storms are starting to hit here right now. I don't think they will be as bad as yours were, but my county is already a national disaster area due to flooding. We don't need anymore rain!

I know whatcha mean about the disagreeing. I was coming to after having surgery awhile back and I started hurting badly. Since I couldn't speak, I had to make a loud, painful sound hoping they would realize I was hurting.

My doc told the anesthesiologist that he thought I might need some pain medication and the anest. said "Oh no, I don't think anything is wrong with her". It's a good thing I could slap him then... The dr. debated with him and finally said "Just please get her something"! Thank you sir!!!! I went right back to sleep feeling better soon after that!

I love choir! My choir starts back in late september. Do you sing with your church or other? What part do you sing? I am a soprano.

And pixie dust for you too paige! I hope everything runs smoothly on your surgery. Those are no fun at all. I hope they "yank the sucker" (I love this way of putting it!) and have done so you never have to worry about it again

Looks like we're going to miss the bulk of the heavy rain here. Yay! No more basement flooding...of course there's a bunch more rain coming still, but it looks better than it did an hour ago.

No, not that much Mindy...........but if the fans blow it, I am hoping we'd just get the "mist" off the storms. Should give us a good inch or so.
