Sarah, I think being a librarian would be fun. Do you have to have a specialized degree to get a job at the library?

Here's some info for anyone who's interested. Bonnie I'll PM you more!

I have my Master's degree in Library & Information Science, which is what you need to be a "librarian." Many libraries hire "paraprofessionals" to work in the reference and children's sections. They are what people normally call librarians, the master's is a technicality. You almost always have to have a Bachelor's (in anything) to work at the children's or reference desk. You can also be a page (GREAT job for high school students) or with a HS diploma, you can work in circulation checking materials out.

I am in charge of the children's section of my library. I order all of the materials and plan all of the programs. I have two "children's assistants" that I delegate work and storytimes to.

It's truely the career I was meant for and I really really love it.

We do get crazy people threatening us with guns and such; and "controlling" teenagers is almost always an issue, but I wouldn't do anything else!

From what I remember his ortho saying, braces stay on for an average of 18 - 24 mos. DS will have had his on for 18 mos. in November. He is doing a great job of following his ortho's instructions, I'm so proud

They allowed a payment plan for us, it was $175.00 a month and we paid close to $2,000 as a down payment. Luckily his down payment was due in April, we had just gotten our tax return

Whoa! We have been instructed that we should get started with that...........I don't think we can until next year when we aren't paying for child care anymore (public school Kindergarten=more money for us!).

Yes and no I would have missed the cruise if I were pregnant! But, I had my two kids at a young age! I have that urge to hold a newborn

I wasn't either. I was yes and no too, but about our Japan trip rather than a cruise. I want one, though, but gee whiz, I don't know how you pay for braces and a newborn at the same time!

It'll be even worse when DS 2 is old enough for braces..........then we'll have one in college and one in braces...........yikes!

So, see? It's just like I was really here all day..........kind of, isn't it? Okay, I guess not, I am just trying not to feel so left out..........

My wonderful neighbor said yes to keeping the boys, so I got to go to the science conference. It was okay, but she started with K modules, then 1st, and we didn't get to 2nd until half an hour before leaving. But still okay because I actually liked the K module activities better for our 2nd graders than the 1st and 2nd ones...........it had more about actual properties of matter. 1st was all about mass, which is fine, but I have some good lessons on that already. 2nd was just about measurement...............I didn't need it, as we do that in both math and science so they get it pretty solid.

Then when I picked up the boys, my wonderful neighbor said they were fabulous.

On top of that, dh is doing dinner tonight.........enchiladas. He finished his painting, I'll upload it later.

Oh, and I'm helping with new student registration tomorrow. That gets me my comp time for January so I get an extra day off after Christmas.

Fine thanks. I don't know if this tumor is getting bigger or what, but it is becoming more and more uncomfortable. I can't sleep on my stomach comfortably. I never knew I slept on my stomach that much until I can't now.

The specialist said it might even be a hernia and we wouldn't know until he "gets in there" to see.

I can just feel it now even while just sitting around. Bugging me.

Hi girls! I just went to a place called Chesterbrook Academy to give them my resume. I told them I had experience teaching Kindergarten and the lady was like, "I WISH you had showed up 2 days ago! We just canceled private Kindergarten for this year because we didn't have a teacher!" She wants to know if I would do Pre-k, the 4-year-olds. That wouldn't be that bad, cause most of my Kindergarten stuff I would be able to use. The pay isn't as much as Kinder, but it is a lot more than pre-K teachers make in Vegas! Plus it is really close to my house. So it's a possiblity for me. Plus she said that if they do private K for next year, they would let me do it.

I have to find out more about the hours and stuff first though. Ains will be in Kindergarten (half day) and I need to figure how everything would work out.

I filled out an application and they have to do a background check on me and then set up an interview. The principal is very nice though.


Paige, that sucks you can't sleep on your stomach! I hope they get that thing taken care of soon!
