howdy everyone! hope all had a good night.

Hello, Kay! I had an okay night. Getting up at 6:00 is not fun though! I have to take DH to the train station while the car is in the shop.

Hey gal! I think I'm gonna pop some sleeping pills if I don't start sleeping thru the night!

I had a "War of the Worlds" kinda nightmare, only because it was on HBO (or one of those channels) last night. It was terrible! Plus my lab kept barking all night long :guilty:

Sorry about the nightmare, Kelly. That must have been scary. I have never seen War of the Worlds. Was it a good movie?

It was good, but I can't watch it again! I had a feeling of dread watching it, there was no hope for anyone it seemed :guilty:

I know that sounds weird for me to say that. I can't watch the Titanic all the way thru either. :confused3

That book sounds like something I would enjoy. Thanks!

I can't watch Titanic all the way through either. I like the story before the boat hits the iceberg, but after that I stop watching.

Hey we're

I love this picture!

I'm totally the same way, love the story but hate the tragedy! Too many people involved, especially seeing the mother tuck her two children into bed knowing she can't save them :sad1:

Bonnie, how old is Ainslee again? (or how old will she be?)

Javamom, great to see you, good story.

Everybody, just checking in, taking DS to dr. and then stopping by work again. If the air conditioning is on, I'll stay and work. If not, I'll come back and have some tea!

Adorable pic! I hate seeing the mommy and the new baby frozen in the water.

That's the part that gets me the most.............I have to stop watching before then.

Hi paige! Ains will be turnign 5.

Wow, and reading already! My 4 year old only recognizes L right now...........but I'm hoping his pre-k program will change that!

My oldest didn't read before K either.................

Hello Paige! Is everything ok with DS?

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only who does this! My family thinks I'm nuts just watching the beginning and turning when the iceberg hits. And because it's based on a true story, that just really makes me sick!

Okay, I'm off........don't wanna be late for the doc! Just annual ADHD recheck. We're going to ask if DS can have a time-release Ritalin this year, so he doesn't have that lag midday in middle school.

I don't know when, or if, he'll outgrow the need for it. We don't have him on it in summer and I've worked with him some..........poor kid takes on average 10 minutes a sentence to write. That's just in my classroom........no TV, no other kids.....he just can't keep his mind on it.

The LPC and the dr. that diagnosed him said he was the most severe they've ever seen. And he wasn't diagnosed until 2nd grade. They said for him to have been doing so well academically and behaviorally, that he'd been giving 110 percent. Made me feel kind of bad that we'd been asking of him almost more than he could give.

Not one of my finest hours.

I had all my girls learn their letters and sounds, and write their first and last names when they were 4. But I also know that some kids are just not interested in that stuff when they are 4.

Awwww, he sounds like a great kid. Good luck at the doctor's, Paige.

I'm like that with Holocaust stuff, too. I'm fascinated by it, but it makes me sick, because it was true. Have you ever been to the National Holocaust museum? That was an experience I'll never forget.

DS has been diagnosed with it as well, he takes Concerta and does the summer break as well. I hate giving him the medicine but he says it helps him slow down some!

I'll see ya when u get back :wave2:

No, haven't been there and I haven't watched Schindler's List either. I'm probably one of the few people who hasn't seen it!

I am a very sensitive person. My sister was in a car accident when she was a month away from her due date. She broke a couple of ribs and bruise up a little, but when she went into labor 5 weeks later.... I could have cried! Her ribs were still healing, I literally hurt in my body all over for her. I felt so bad for her. Just like when DS last week had to have stitches (where he's teeth went through his chin area). I teared up and physically felt pain for him.

I know, I'm weird :guilty: I guess this is what they mean by sympathy pains :goodvibes

Good morning everyone!

We watched War of the Worlds the other night too... I also worried I would have nightmares, but haven't. KNOCK ON WOOD!

One of the scenes was filmed less than 10 minutes away from us! The scene toward the end where they kill the alien thing - that plant with the two tall towers I pass on the highway when I go to the grocery store! :rotfl:
