Yankee-Speak...paigevz said:Oh, I thought it was Stitch or Yankee-speak...............
I am yankee born...however, I have been transplanted to live in the genteel south.
I know I still sound as if I have Yankee-speak to them..but how funny some of them still sound to me. The ones that "come down from the hills"....they crack me up! I just nod and smile!

I'm currently working on a "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Look who's in our Pre-K room!" one. I'm doing a big palm tree, and a little palm tree for each child. Their palm trees will have their photo on them, plus on the trunk they'll put their name wtih those little foam letters. Those will be next to a self-portrait that they drew. The palm trees are a pain in the **** cause there are so many of them. (one big, 20 small).

So has school officially started for your DH yet? How's he liking it so far?
The plan is to have kids once we're sure he's full time. My mom will retire when we do and she'll babysit

Sarah, that's great news about your hubby. I hope you are able to start a family on schedule. Kids rock! And that's wonderful that your mom is going to be able to retire and babysit for you!
paigevz said:Hi, back from Open HOuse. I am very happy. The teachers all seem open, friendly and all knew who my child was. They all knew about some little things (his advanced math, missing sax strap.....little stuff, but just let me know they KNEW him and paid attention). The rooms were bright and attractive, with plenty of space. The atmosphere seems regulated but supportively so.
Mom had the entire hip replacement done. She was very sleepy when I talked to her, but seemed okay, said they'd already had her sitting up on the side of the bed. DS heard me talking to dh about it and cried..........I had to explain to him that it will be better for her, she'll not break her hip easily now as some older people do, it'll be stronger..........I pointed out my "plastic" knee to him. He thought it meant something bad, he said. I just got him calmed down.
I need to get both off to bed, it's later due to the Open House. But I'll be back soon!
Busy with the boys. Running like a chicken...hopefully WITHOUT it's head off!Bbgrizzle said:HI Jay! I know, it HAS been too long! Where have you been?
How did Ainslee like the get to know you thing?
But she was chipper when I picked her up and she liked her teacher. She doesn't want to start school next week though--none of the girls do.
