Hello, folks! :wave2: It's been a long time since I was this glad it was FRIDAY! I finished my first week of work and I'm exhausted! Plus I have a cold. So I"m probably gonna sleep a lot this weekend.

What's everyone up to? Of course there are no green lights on when I arrive! I miss everyone!

Welcome home (for the weekend). You have been missed. Do tell, how are you feeling about your job after your first week? Have you worked out a way to handle your assistant?

Sorry to hear about your cold. Be sure to get a lot of rest this weekend!

What's for dinner tonight?

Hi Jay!
Nope DBF didn't want to go to Disney with me. Hes not a fan :sad2: So I'm going with my mom-who is also a Disney nut! It runs in the family you know.

Last night I added lots more pepperoni (the frozen ones give you about 5), roasted garlic and taco flavor shredded cheese. It was really good!

Hi Karen! How have you been? I've missed talking to you!

MMMM...roasted garlic. YUM! Has DBF's brother been back yet? How fun a mother daughter trip! :)

Being a "party animal", I would go and hang out. You might even consider driving there, just in case it does get awkward or uncomfortable. You never know. This way, you can always take yourself shopping. : :woohoo:
Great advice. One more thing to add...HAVE FUN! :)

Hello, Jay!

I feel better about my job; more excited now. I've been making my plans of how I want to start the new school year. Right now the kids are still doing summer camp and the actual school year starts Sept. 5th. And after the second day of working with my assistant, I decided I like her and I"m glad to have her. I can't always understand her with her Romanian accent, but she is a hard worker. She is super organized and likes everything to be clean, but she does it herself, she doesn't make me worry about it. She is in her late 50's, and is set in her ways and can be a little bossy, but she really helps me out with the kids (unlike the other girl I had been working with initially) so that made the past 2 days less stressful. Also, she's nice and she does listen to me when I tell her about a change I would like to make. She is not gossippy, thank goodness! So I actually think it will work out okay.

That scary boy has been a lot better. I'm sure he was testing me those first few days, but now he knows my boundaries and although he still gets agitated when he doesn't get his way, there is no more throwing things or hitting, at least not the pasat 2 days. We do seem to have a lot of kids who throw tantrums though.

Dinner was a frozen meal, it was chicken enchiladas, not too tasty. My family didn't want any part of it! :guilty:

I'm glad to hear that the outlook is a bit better then it was on day 1!

I hate it when my family won't eat something I cook...even if it is just throwing something frozen into the oven...and sadly, we have more than a few of those days! ;)

Hi all!
Glad things are going better Bonnie. Romanian culture probably ingraines the habit of coming off a little bossy and maybe even rude, even if that wasn't their intent. I've met a couple people from there and they have all seemed that way at first, but when you get to know them they are pretty nice. I'm glad you 2 are getting along!

Haven't eaten dinner yet, although I know its going to be leftover chili. Its yummy, just not motivated to heat it up yet

Hi Jay! Hows it going?

Hi cousins! I am really happy for the weekend! We have tentative plans to go to Oklahoma to see Mom, but I haven't been able to get anyone on the phone since her surgery.............we do know it came out all right, as my father called my dh, but that's the last we've heard.

Fairly good news today, all but 4 of my kids passed their reading test.........2 were in a different group that did it written, so I pulled them to go over it orally and they got 70s. The other two are very low ESL (age 3 oral language skills) so I plan to pull them aside Monday and go over the story again. Then for spelling, all passed! It was just short a words: am, sad, hat, bag...........but I'm happy they can do them. All finally understood our race to 100 game (they have a hundreds chart, throw a die, and add the numbers as they go to the 100), and all were able to write upwards of 30 and most around 50 and 60 when I gave them 3 min to write as high as they could go. They can tell me that freezing and melting are phase changes, what they are, and how caused..........they can also tell me the three kinds of matter. About half understand evaporation and condensation.........we've still got another week or two on it. Not too bad for one week, huh? (We've had two weeks, but the first one is all orientation/procedures).

Good morning all. Stopped by to wish everyone a wonderful day. It is raining buckets here, so I am off to do errands. We were going to have a Disney day, but now we have a rain delay. :sad2: I'm sure I can find something to buy, if I try hard enough. :lmao:

Edited because I was venting, and I feel better. Don't want to bring my cousins down.

Mom's back in hospital, maybe will be transferred to a rehab hospital for a couple weeks. Japan trip is currently off due to financial concerns (hospital bills..........mine, Nick's and Mom's).

Sooooo, what's for dinner?

Dh made a lasagna last night, and we only ate half, so will probably have that with a green salad.

Happy Saturday! (Or Caturday, as Karen's cute picture said!)

Brent and I went to DMV to register our car and to get our Virginia drivers licenses. Well, we ended up not having everything we needed (we looked on their website and nowhere does it tell you what you need to bring. We just brought what we used to need in Vegas and nope, that's not enough here). So we left with our tails between our legs. We went to lunch at TGI Fridays so that the trip wasn't a total waste :) .

Paige, I'm sorry the Japan plans are postponed due to the hospital bills you have incurred as of late. I sure hope your mom gets better soon!

I have a mountain of used tissues next to me. I'm getting tired of having a runny nose!

How's everybody doing? And let me be the first to ask the question of the day: What's for dinner tonight?

We'll be having some kind of frozen meal again, I'm sure. I'm sick and not gonna cook.

No, worries, Bonnie...........the best things in life are free! We have experience with hospital bills, and we know we could take our time with it, but we feel it's better to be out of debt than an overseas vacation, the plane tickets are the HUGE cost........besides, my cousin didn't know when he'd know if he could take off anyway.

The good news is that with our projections, we can tentatively, possibly, still plan on an October 2008 trip to WDW!

You are wise to choose to eliminate the debt first. Yay! I'm glad you can still do a WDW trip. That's awesome! :cheer2:

Hi ladies!
Home alone. DBF went to his Bachelors party thing and it turns out that I was not invited. Of course I found this out after I was dressed and ready to go after an entire week of DBF reassuring me that it would be fine if I went. So I went shopping instead. That was fun. The Disney store on Michigan Ave is HUGE! I loved it in there!

Paige,

So sorry to hear about the trip...but you are more than right, the best things in life are free! You still have your mom and you son to hug...that's better than any trip anywhere!! How is your weekend going?

So what did you find to buy?

Sounds good. Tonight we had homemade pizza with a salad. Simple, fast, DONE!! ;) I had an afternoon of scrapbooking at the local coffee shop with a group of friends. That was productive/fun way to spend an afternoon.

Hmm...if I had to find something to fill in doing...going to a HUGE Disney Store would be a top favorite! :) Did you get anything?
