I am sure that this question has been asked many times but.... I have reservations for 6 on April 19 for the luau. I have not been since I was a child. The other 5 are my DH (really on goes with us for the golf - lol), DD (15 - very picky eater - no meat), DS (12) eats everything, newphew (age 22 with his bride- age 21) both not fussy eaters... so is it worth the $300 it is costing me or should we do to Chef Mickey's or someplace else instead? We already have breakfast at Cindy's and we love the rest. in Morocco... - we have planned some other big events like a day at Discovery Cove and a girls day at the GF Spa - so I really don't want to spend the money if its not worth it... thanks for your opinions... :wave2:

You know, I believe measuring worth is only determined by oneself. It may be highly priced for your family of 5, but if you truly desire to take in luau, then it is definitely worth it. I did the luau many years ago with my family and it is a very nice memory for us now. We actually could not "afford" it at the time, but the opportunity was there, and we went for the gusto!! So good luck in your decision..I am sure you will make the right one for your family.

A well positioned table helps too (middle, close to front - it seat roughly 500). I beleive they assign tables in the order you reserve, but it would be worth the call.

Our children were young (and tired) that night so we left part way into the evening, but looked really fun with some audience participation which your crew might enjoy.

Our family of 5 did it and yes it was expensive but we l loved it, food, entertainment and good service. I do think that child prices are expensive though.

We did it last month. This was the first time we had seen the new show. As always the entertainment was great. However the food is good, but will not wow you. Service too is good. I think it now includes beer and wine (no more tropical drink free :guilty:

They do take a group photo for purchase prior to the dinner.
Keep in mind if anyone in your party has the new DDE card there is a 20% discount on the late show.

We did this for my husband's 50th birthday 4 years ago with a big group. We had a front table and those tropical drinks were free (which I think offsets the price if you add up 4 of those drinks :rotfl: ). There is a little audience participation and they celebrated birthdays, anniversaries and weddings. Since hubby is a CM, we did enjoy a small discount at the time. My grandson, then 6, did not enjoy the food selections and they did bring him some mac and cheese--very expensive mac and cheese.

We have done it and won't do it again. It was just ok. The food was pretty blah and the show was ok. For less money and a whole lot more fun I would recommend Ohana instead.
