Hi

My name is Lauralee (LL) and I am lurking over here from the budget boards after getting tooooo nosey for words about what goes on over here. Sounded like a hoot.

i am a solid #5 with some minor slippage to a #6 and (dare I admit it) #7 upon occassion.

I do know how to get peeps out of a rug, but it involves a large white boxer, a little bit of time and a drool factor, which may negate the fact that the peep is gone...:confused3

I have a white kitchen floor that, thanks to dh , 2dd's, said ddog and one very dcat remains mostly beige most of the time.

I have officially been the "meanest mom in the world" so often that I am eternally grateful that they don't give you an award for it.:thumbsup2

I have removed carpeting from my home because you just can't steam clean a carpet once a month (like it would happen if you could anyway), it doesn't hold up , but the mud sure does.:headache:

I have been in my house for 8 years and have used my self cleaner on my oven once, after a turkey mishap:scared1: , 'nuff said.

And finally, does the fact that, whilst reading the rules, the sun shined upon me and I heard the angels sing "You are home" count for anything?

Thanks for considering me for membership,:rotfl:

LL
Welcome I hope you don't mind the mess. We kinda like it.:rotfl2:

Morning all!

Start my new job today, which means that I will be here a lot less during the day.

Not to to far to the end of the thread....Thought of another potential name:

"Wasting away again in Loserville...searching for my lost shaker of salt, and lost shoes, and lost toddler, and lost...."
Hope the first day on the new job went well. I like the new name

may have to resign. here's the weekend recap (many of these tasks were team activities, esp. special time"):

mowed yard
cleaned up yard of all the kids' garbage
exercised x3
had 5 guests for cookout
cleaned entire house to com 1
washed and folded all laundry
special time
outing to new barnes & noble for all kids to get books
news shoes for "baby"
groceries
church
time on internet: 0 minutes and 0 seconds.
until now...to taunt you.
Wow JJ all I can say is:worship: :worship:
So what is special time:rolleyes1

Where are my manners? Welcome LL! You sound like a "perfect" fit here! Actually, no perfection allowed here, so you sound like an "ok" fit!

Today I did a lot of errands and my house looks like a wreck..Am I a winner for getting a lot of "outside" stuff done, or a loser because my house isn't fit to live in?

I will check in later to see how Lara's first day went, and what Shore's lawyer had to say..

bah y'all

Welcome LL!
Not much new today. I was 'supposed' to start going through DD's winter clothes and replacing them with the spring/summer stuff BUT life sidetracked me and I got NOTHING done. NOTHING. Do I care? Not really, but Mr. Crabby Pants will be...well, CRABBY about it when he gets home. Too bad. He'll probably be upset to learn that he is taking us out to eat as well. I figure I have earned it since he has yet to be maimed, drawn, quartered or thrown out! (I truly MUST be a saint! )

Hello, losers!!! Thanks for all the wonderful advice!!! You guys kept me from a complete melt down yesterday!!!:goodvibes Today I have done nothing but lay in bed....either got hit with the stomach bug or a bad case of nerves. This is the first time I've been able to lift my head from the pillow all day without getting so dizzy I get sick.

Evening losers.
Already fed the kiddos, corndogs for the boys & PB&J for the girl. Did you figure out it's a baseball game night? Yep we are now getting ready to go to the ball field for a 7:30pm game  The one good thing about it being this late, by the time we get home it's bedtime :cool1: :cool1:

I'll try and stop by after they are in bed.
Try and not to get into anymore trouble while I'm gone ;)

Okay, here is an attempt to post my kitty pics. This is what I do instead of dishes and floor mopping...

I'm going to be super busy at this new job...but in a different kinda way.

It was interesting...I did have a moment of panic when I thought "did I really leave a job where I had 10 years of experience, security and success for a totally new adventure?" Then I thought "Yes, I left a job where I was miserable and hated to go to work every day for one where I could feel like I was making a difference again!"

Lara, I'm glad your first day went well. I hope this new job is everything that you hoped it would be.

I'm hiding from my family. I made very healthy lentil and brown rice veggie burritos for dinner, and I think they're planning a revolt. I thought they were good, but I'm expecting a McDonald's run any moment now.

:thumbsup2 Yay lara! Glad to hear you like the new job!!

Um, wth am I doing here? It's 9 pm, I have to have payroll checks done by tomorrow, I have to enter in my checks I used for errands today (otherwise, I'll lose the scrap of paper I used to write the amounts down on), I have to fax a letter to the DLLR.

Crap, here I am acting like I don't have anything to do. I totally got lost in Loserville and forgot about real life.

I never said you were a loser mom..

Welcome. Alesia! :woohoo: :yay:

Hey now.... let's face it - we're ALL losers...

Um, wth am I doing here? It's 9 pm, I have to have payroll checks done by tomorrow, I have to enter in my checks I used for errands today (otherwise, I'll lose the scrap of paper I used to write the amounts down on), I have to fax a letter to the DLLR.

Shore - any chance that my name is on the payroll?

Looks like the losers have been winners today. I did manage to get some laundry done and vacuum the house and read 400 pages of my book. It's getting good! Right now I am frustrated and angry. It's a long story:

A few months back my DS10 was dealing with some bullies at school and at boy scouts. These 2 boys are his age (5th grade) and they were giving him a hard time one night at scouts because he was eating a hot ham and cheese sandwich and the cheese was melting off. So they call him "cheesy" now. Now, as much as we have tried, DS is very sensitive and reacts to everything--even though we tell him that is what the bullies are looking for. He just wears his emotions on his sleeve. I love it because he is such a sweetiie and often still hugs/kisses me in front of his friends, etc. Anyway, the teasing started in school, too--mostly in the lunchroom where these boys sit at the table behind DS and occasiionally toss stuff at him and his friends or say nasty things. All, of course, while the teachers and lunch ladies are away from them! After calls to the school to have them keep an eye on things, we receivedd the report back that the school had seen nothing. Great. I tell him all the time to ignore these 2 boys and since they aren't in the same class it's mostly ok. He still has to deal with them at scout meetings, though. I have noticed our scout troop has its own set of issues, too, which doesn't help matters. The older boys don't seem to want to be as welcoming to the new boys as I had hoped. I'm hoping that it gets better, because DS really wants to enjoy scouts.

Anyway, a couple weekends ago there was a campout. DS was NOT there because DH was out of town and while I'll do scout meeting, I am not much of a camper when it is 30 degrees at night. Not my idea of a good time. Plus, I had DD here and couldn't leave her alone. Turns out that there were boys from another troop in the same location, also camping. Two of the boys(the bulllies from above) from our troop apparenntly had it out with these other scouts and PULLED A KNIFE on them. Yes--pulled a knife. Since then one boy has come clean and admitted the whole thing. The othher is still lying thru his teeth that he wasn't involved, even though there were witnesses. Forward to last week, these two boys are both at the meeting where the boys were picking up the food donations for the food drive. Afterward, the boys were on the playground at the school and the boys tried to knock DS down. Another boy was wrapped up in the swing chains. All this while one of the boys' mom was watching! DH put a stop to it as soon as he could and talked to the mom--told her that J has been a problem foor Nick and others and he was not impressed with his bullying. Shhe said nothing. The other boys dad is the troop scoutmaster and did nothing--as usual. (His oldest son is trouble too, but that's another story) So now I am wondering why these 2 boys are allowed to even be in the troop. I think pulling a knife is SERIOUS BUSINESS and they don't need a second chance because what happens next time--someone actually gets stabbed? Nothing has been decided but DH is at the meeting now. He doesn't know if they'll do anything.
One good thing is that the one boy will be moving this summer. Not too soon for me!

We are thinking of moving DS to another troop, but he's not interested in giving up on this one yet. He has made a couple friends and is happy because the meetings are at our church--a familiar place--he doesn't like chhange very much. I'm really torn about letting him stay. I guess it wll depend on what happens to these 2 other scouts.

WHEW! Told ya it was long!! Sorry about the vent.
