The LOSER thread..we've moved...new address and directions on the last page

Awwww crud. I left stuff in the dryer overnight too :headache:
Time to put it back on the wrinkle release cycle & maybe I'll remember to take it out this time.

So can anyone join this thread, or is it too late? I see its already over 300 pages and I have read a few things here and there but basically I was too lazy to post. I belong here! Really, I am a total loser! I am sitting here in the recliner, drinking coffee :surfweb: and hanging out on the computer when there is so much to do. DS said before school that he doesn't feel well, which means I will be getting a call to come pick him up--after recess, I'm sure! (He's very predictable. The school nurse will feel sorry for him when he walks in with that pathetic face and she'll say, "he just isn't one to come in here that often--he must be sick!" So I SHOULD be in the shower right now so I can be presentable when I go get him, but I know that recess isn't until 10:30-- I've got almost 2 hours!:rotfl:

This week my MIL has been in town. (She's with her boyfriend who is here for a convention or something) She's come to see the kids in the evenings but I haven't invited her over during the day at all. Is that wrong? DH says he totally understands, so that's good. I did vacuum and clean the downstairs bathroom the day she came, so I called it good enough for cleaning this week.
DH and I were talking yesterday at lunch and I said "I really should look for a job and contribute to the income, but then what would happen to our weekly lunch dates? And I have to take the kids to & from school & swim practice so I can't have a real job. Really, what's the point if I can only work a few hours a day a few days a week?";)
So here I am at home, both kids are in school, my house needs cleaned, I need to buy groceries, the laundry isn't done (is it ever??) and I am on the DIS.

So, do I qualify? Am I a LOSER, too?

Welcome!!!!

You contribute enough already to the family income....look how much money you are saving by NOT having daycare expenses. There is always a way to rationalize things ;) I LOVE how the nurse just KNOWS they are sick but the minute the kid gets in the car you get "the smile" and they want to play nintendo or can we go to the McD's playground, etc. My kids get a "free" day every now and then....yes, I am one of THOSE parents that just takes the kid out of school just because, but don't claim your sick because you can only stay home from school when things are coming out 1 of 2 ends :scared: or a limb is hanging off :scared1: Otherwise, don't ask!

Thanks. Every now and then I feel guilty about not working. It's not like my kids are babies--10 & 13. I even got my substitute teaching license last year. Just never actually put my name on the list. I used to tutor some friends' kids in math (if I had a real ie paying job it would be as a math teacher--that was what I went to college for) but I didn't feel right charging the going rate so $10 an hour wasn't helping much.
I figure I have 1 1/2 hours til DS calls me. I only need 20-30 minutes to get ready so I've got an hour to do nothing and DIS. :lmao: He will come home and lay on the couch for a movie or an episode of Mythbusters but then he will be up playing the Wii. Maybe I'll get lucky and he'll be having too much fun with his friends to remember to go to the nurse! I will wait until right before DH comes home and then I'll run the vacuum in the family room so it looks like I did something today. On the plus side, if DS comes home sick, I will have an excuse to have done nothing all day!

This is 1 reason I love crock pots & scented candles! Minimum effort on my part yet the house SMELLS like I've actually been doing something all day long. The only problem with the scented candles is sometimes they think I've actually baked something :headache: (still got that premaid/frozen Mrs. Smiths Cinabon Apple pie to cook in a pinch!)

Oh yeah, this is where you belong..what took you so long? Just pull up a chair, wait that one's full of clean clothes waiting to be folded...How about that one?...No, that ones got a bunch of stuff that needs to go upstairs. You could sit on the floor, but then you will be covered with dog hair. Here, just sit on this table, I'll shove all the old magazines on the floor..

Hey y'all I got the uniforms out of the dryer!! I put a wet towel in and spun them again for a few minutes, but it didn't work so I had to iron some of the pants.. the shirts were fine though, well, fine enough..

DDM, hope the list method helps you, I am not having a lot of success with it. I knocked off the goody bags, sweeping the floors, and cleaning slobbermouth's floor. That was all I could get done yesterday..

I will join in with you anyway...today I need to:

1)Clean kitchen so DS9 will have a place to do his homework.

2)Cook bacon for freezing...yes, I do this..

3)Sew on badges to DS8's cubscout uniform for the Blue and Gold dinner TUESDAY-reminder..need to buy another Tiger Cub badge because I lost the one we got months ago. Wondering what else came with that which is lost too.

4)Hem jeans..yes, this is still on the list..I wish I wasn't a troll...(short like one, anyway..)

Tell ya what..this is a short list, I'm not adding anything else to it just to see if I can get it done...

Looks like that "taking kid out of school for a day" thread got a warning & it wasn't our fault:lmao:

HRH - Is Slobbermouth doing better today?

My dryer buzzed about 10 minutes ago, did I get the clothes out? Heck no I've been sitting at the computer. Maybe I'll get up and get them out now...........................................................................maybe

Welcome Denise! I'm so lazy that I only check in here every now and then.:rotfl2: But I know when I do that there is someone here who understands just how hard it is to get motivated on a day to day basis. My huge lists of things to do today includes fixing lunch for kids, reading stories before nap, doing yoga while kids take a long(we hope) nap and then Dis'ing some more before scurrying around and trying to make it look like I did something today before DH gets home. It's a rough life, ain't it?:lmao:

Yesterday I found two bags of frozen apples in the freezer so I threw them in a pot with a little sugar ans cinnamon and scored MAJOR points for making fresh cinnamon apples with dinner! I think the apples were from last year some time, but they tasted just fine and noone got sick. Bonus!:cool1:

I just went over there, read that bozo's comments about the relationship between parents taking their kids out and bad spelling/grammer on the Dis. I posted something about it..then went back and saw others had done so, too..and they got a warning..looks like some went back and changed their posts. Mine, too..it now says, "comment on run on sentence deleted". What a jerk...not me, him..

MUST STAY AWAY FROM THAT THREAD TODAY....

But if any trolls pop up anwhere, I wanna know about it.

Slobbermouth didn't get anything to eat yesterday to see if we can clear this problem up. So I gave him a little of food this a.m., we will see how it comes out...literally...

Thanks--I do believe I can be a good LOSER. (Is that correct? Is it a good loser or bad loser, and which is better to be?)

We have B&G in a couple weeks. Somehow I volunteered to make cake--turns out they need enough for 80! :headache: What was I thinking?? :sad2: At least I only have to get troop # patches sewn on to DS's new shirt. I cheat and use the iron on stuff and then just tack down the edges with clear thread. My sewing machine broke several years ago and I find that this method is easier than dragging it out anyway! Already ripped the rest of the patches off the old blue shirt and put them in a shadow box. It is 'tradition' that the pack buys shadow boxes and the moms get together and put all our(yes, I earned these patches and pins!) achievements in there to show off at B&G.

I saw you posted so I went over and saw the deleted comment.

Poor puppy. I remember those days when our dog was still around. NOT FUN

WELCOME DENISE!

I may try the list thing but I really hate lists, I mean I raked all the toys into a corner or back into the baskets so the PT could have some clean floor space to work with DS5. And since I never know if she will have him ride the scooter I had to sweep and spot clean the kitchen floor. The bad part about her coming early in morning is that DS will drag everything out by noon so it will look like I havent done a thing

So I have also have the diswasher running, and took Oinky and DS for a haircut, so a errand done and the kid can talk about the pig watching him get a haircut. Look multiltasking, is that allowed:lmao:

I need to decide if I tackle the huge laundry pile, the bills or wrap DS10's Valentine Box.

This weeks stinks bc I never know when DH will walk through the door bc he is on sales calls and not in the office, so yesterday he showed up at like 2 but lucklily it was warm here so he went straight to the driving range.

Spot cleaning is my friend.:goodvibes

He quoted me BEFORE I got a chance to change it! I guess my comment wasn't so bad, he took it well..I did use that as an opportunity to say I never critisize spelling/grammar/typing on the Dis. I'd better keep my mouth shut today..

THIS is one thing about your dog you would never miss...yuck..We lost one of our dogs back in April. He was our yellow lab, Opie..the oldest dog we ever had-13. He had recurring tumors and old, old, age, we had him put down. The other three are just about the same age, one is faltering but hanging in there, the other two look like they could go on forever....

Shoot if I would have remembered what was in the dryer I wouldn't have worried about wrinkles. It was just play shirts, jammies & acouple of the kids bath towels. Like anyone would care about wrinkled jammies..................................................
oh wait a WINNER would care, silly me

Hi! Popping in for a quick fly by....

Hi Denise! Welcome, but up your feet and rest for a while.

My stomach still hurts, I'm afraid to eat anything, but I haven't had anything since my Cream of Wheat yesterday. I should do something about that.

First I have to go and teach a bunch of Residents how to be nice

OMG, you are my hero!! CLEAR THREAD?!! That ain't cheating, that's LOSER BRILLIANCE!!! I even sew a little, never thought of it. And I always hand sewed my DS9's badges, they looked terrible. Then I bought this new thing they have for the pocket patches where it's a clear diamond shape for the 4 diamond shaped patches..the patches slide in and the whole thing dangles from the button. It looks REALLY weird, so I am back to sewing. But I am gonna try YOUR way...

We are bringing in fried chicken and a big cake for our B&G, everyone has to bring a side dish for about 15 people. I am bringing ambrosia, which I have never made but I remember it fondly from my childhood. It has coconut, my kids hate coconut, Idont' care...I LIKE coconut.

Well that & the throwing up :rotfl:

Our dog was a yellow lab/golden retriever mix & she was 11. She was our first baby:hug: When I was about 8 months pregnant with #2DS she got really sick one day (coughing up blood) so I rushed her to the emergency vet, was on a Sat. & DH couldn't leave the house cause of a problem with work.
Got her to the vet , who told me that the blood was in her lungs & there wasn't much she could do (you know, the we could try this or that but don't think it will work) so I had to end up putting her to sleep.
