Boy do I love military and hospital speak. I grew up with it.

How is your training/teleconference thingy going Lara?

I love the ones that aren't really "official" military language but everyone in the military uses them, you know the ones that mean something bad, but you don't get in trouble for :rolleyes1

It must be over with by now..she must have hit the door running when they dismissed her!

I REALLY need to go do something productive, but all I really want to do is hang around until Judge Judy comes on at 2:00, then go and sit on my big behind and do nothing.

Loser mom that I am, when it got cold here (around October) enough to start wearing long pants to school, my kids pants were kinda short...not embarrassingly short, just to the top of the shoe. Well, they have grown about an inch since then, it seems (not overnight, mind you) and I still haven't dug out and taken in the bigger pants I bought for them months ago. They are really skinny, so I have to take uniform pants in at the waist. DS8 can wear DS9's old pants, but I have 6 pair for DS9 that I need to work on. It takes about 3 minutes per pair, but I just hate doing it!!!

OK, I am going to go do it NOW! Tomorrow will be the day that you CANNOT see their white socks when they walk.

I'm being a LOSER big time today, I think I deserve it after tackling DD's room yesterday. BTW her room is still clean :woohoo:
All I've done today is sit here at the computer and DIS, upload our photopass pics to the photobucket account (the trip was in Sept.)and look on ebay at what prices people are selling collectible barbies for. I have alot of older (90's) collectible barbies and so aren't really "collectible" one they just say it on the box. Been thinking of giving DD one or two of those ones & it looks like she might get a few cause they are nowhere on the list. Just gonna check afew more places to make sure.

Hi! I finished up about noon and sprinted for the door to get out of my office for a while. Now I have to get all the work done that I couldn't do this morning.

Just wanted to let you know I'd survived.

That is the worst part of those things. They expect you to do the work you missed while attending.

THIS has been my day thus far! Mon-Fri I wake the kids, get them on the bus and then go into work (medical billing) from 8A-11A. Get DD off the bus at 11:15 (1/2 day kindergarten) and then it's usually run errands, start supper, misc. garbage, etc. DS6 gets off the bus at 3:15P and then we do dinner and I go to job #2 for 5P (usually M-W-TH and every Sat/Sunday - retail sales) So yes, I work 7 days a week AND I have a 5 & 6 YO. Anyway morning starts ok - get to work, fine, leave work, fine. Decide it's the 31st of January so I really should get a new inspection sticker for my car (expires today). Get to the garage - 2nd person waiting so shouldn't be more than 10-15 minutes. Well, flunk due to needing a new tire - to quote the guy, there's NO TREAD on that tire at all :scared1: Yeah, I knew I needed it but I was hoping to pass the inspection and get the tire over the weekend. So now we have to go to the other side of town, leave the car for 45 minutes while I look at fish, chinchilla's, bunnies, and such at Petco to keep DD occupied, bring the car BACK to the inspection station (now there are 6 cars waiting at 10 minutes each :headache: ) Drove by with my big R sticker on my car and hoping to go back in about 1/2 hour and checking again. Due to that stupid thing, I have gotten NOTHING done, spent $200, still need to make 25 somethings for DS6 1st grade class SOUPERbowl Friday thing tomorrow, and DD is telling me she is NOT going back out. Oh, and DH just called to tell me I have to drop the kids off at the in-laws tonight 'cause he's working till 6PM and "will there be anything for me to eat"......yeah, cereal!!!

Did some replies get deleted from this thread? I feel as though I read messages that are no longer on here???

Ugh that sucks. I still have not heard back about my car. And it's really starting to worry me. Normally I drop it off on my way home from work and they work on it the next day and I usually get a call before noon. Well it is now after noon and no call. The longer they wait to call me the bigger the bill gets I know it. Can I cry?

Go a page or two back and see my trail mix ideas. Throw those in a tupperwhere contanier with some cups and voila. Hope this helps. Can you buy Munchkins or something near your retail job? Can MIL make something with him?

Actually, I'd like to change what I wrote earlier. It is a nice ITEM, but make-up is NOT a nice GIFT. Actually, after what you wrote about her, it's kind of a RUDE gift!! and ANTI AGING CREAM FOR CHRISTMAS???:scared1: I think I would have been offended, too..is she one of those "perfect WINNER" people we talk about??

Oh no. She's far from perfect or even a WINNER. More like just annoying. For her baby shower she requested no one bring a gift unless it's a gift card or sensitive baby wipes. My theory is that she knows nobody else will have the same "good" taste" as her & buy stuff for the baby that she doesn't like. Then she'll either have to take it back or re-gift, which I wouldn't put past her to do. The only time I want makeup or beauty products as a gift is if I specifically requested a particular item. Actually, the stuff I got for Chrismas I threw away. It was sample sizes. I wasn't going to use it & I have enough stuff cluttering up my bathroom.

Wanna know what I did today? Well, after my nap :rotfl: I ate a little lunch then called a friend. While I was talking to her I walked out onto the patio 'cause the weather's nice. I saw our resident black snake whip through the bushes & went over to see where he went. Note: He was out in the yard, I was inside the screen enclosure. I don't mind the black snakes but I'm not going to pet one. Anyway, the snake had caught himself (or herself) a lizard & proceded to eat it while I got to watch. It was like Animal Planet all up in here today.
Then I went to take the load of laundry out of the dryer that I had in there from yesterday (naturally) & realized that I hadn't turned the dryer on. :headache: I dried them anyway. Ah well, it's just underwear & socks, nobody will be sniffing that stuff anyway. I hope. :scared1:

My day from **** continues....
Got the sticker so that is done.....thank god! Won't have to do that for 12 months now - both cars are up in the same month so I try to do 1 at the beginning (cost us about $300 this year due to repairs, but that car has almost 130,000 miles on it) and the other car at the end of the month ($200 for that one between tire & inspection) so that was fun.

Stop at grocery store, pick up cupcake crap, chicken to throw in the oven, come home, and my cupcake pan has vanished :confused3 Why is it when you NEED something it vanishes into this black hole only to appear when you have either purchased a new one or don't need it anymore :headache: So now I have cake batter mixed and ready and NOOOOOOO PAN!!!! I may just stick a straw in it, call it my dinner, and say the heck with it and buy store bought

These were kinda what I was going to make:

but frost the whole thing green, pipe in the 50 yard line and use a candy for the football (chocolate cupcakes).

We don't have car inspections here. One benefit of living in the boonies, I guess?

I have been randomly cleaning in my house. Well, when I have passed through a room and would see something that belonged somewhere else, I would take it to the right room. Now I have piles of stuff in each room that need to be put away, but at least they are in the right room. Gotta start somewhere, right?

Wow that looks like alot of work for cupcakes. This from the person who eats cake out of the pan and doesn't frost anything.

That's what happen with DH when he took his truck in for his inspection. He knew he need new tires and was planning on gettting new ones before he left for school. Nope had to get them that day :headache: Luckily getting the new tires put on and then going back for the inspection didn't take too long.

Thank God we don't have vehicle inspections here either! I remember, back in the day, when we did & it was a pain in the butt. You know, back when nobody wore seatbelts, they were just shoved into the back of the seat cushion because they were in the way.:lmao:

You can pipe in frosting? Like in a straight line? Wow. I can't even draw a straight line. I'm impressed!
