The looooong Splash Mt Refurb

DLR has occasionally done soft/early-openings (mostly after major refurbishments - like for BTMRR - or for new attractions), but it's often just for a limited time or sporadic periods during the days leading up to the re-opening. There is no way to know in advance if it'll be open for any amount of time on the 1st or 2nd. I would not count on being able to ride it before the 3rd.

Ups, i think i will miss it. I`ll be there at the end of april . Thank you for the info;)
I think it is supposed to open the 1st or 2nd week of April. We pushed our trip back to the end of April to make sure we would see Critter Country. It is our favorite land.
On a competing Disney Information website (we cannot post the name here), they've listed the tentative closure dates as January 12 through April 3. No confirmation from Disneyland yet, so we're still waiting to see what actually happens.

The website's calendar has just started showing days into the beginning of April. Friday April 3rd is the first day showing a refurbishment list that Splash and the rest of Critter Country are NOT on.

D1sneyfam1ly, when I posted about the competing website, it was back on December 4, 2014, which was well before the official calendar was posting anything about April dates.

The ride is in desperate need of a major refurb. I cannot even ride it anymore without a visit to my chiropractor. If disney would put in the same smooth track they installed in Big Thunder Mountain, the Matterhorn would be fantastic.

It is rough, and the new bobsleds were a serious fail. However, there are a couple ways to make it a little less painful. I fold up a jacket under my butt to smooth out the bumps, and I hang on tight.

I am hoping for a soft opening. We are set to leave So Cal on Easter Sunday and may have to swing by for one ride on Spalsh before heading out of town as it's closed our Disney days.

I am excited to see Splash after the refurb. I was sitting outside the Haunted Mansion watching them working on the main drop the other day. I also noticed the huge amount of work going in at Hungry Bear...Kind of hoping for them to put in a small stage area with the Country Bear animatronics for dinner shows!! How cool would that be?

I would love splash mountain to get the side by side flumes, but I don't think it's going to happen. I've been wondering about the Hungry Bear possibly getting some of the country bear animatronics, too, though. I feel like it would be such a nice throw back to the early days of Disneyland. From the looks of it last time I was there though, all I can see is the deck wood being replaced.

That would be awesome, but in have to say HB is our little corner of quiet and solitude. Nothing beats one of the far tables or even the table on the first floor near the F! Launch. A honeybee cupcake sounds so good right now! :)

Yes, or a churro.....

I love looking back while exiting the last section of the Pooh Bear ride and seeing the "stuffed" animals from Country Bear Jamboree :)

We're going to DL on April 1&2 and Splash is supposed to be open on the 3rd. The official calendar for those dates has it closed on the 1&2 but open on the 3rd -- so that is on the official website.

My question is what are the chances that it is open a couple days early?? Would love to get on!

Sometimes they do a soft opening a day or so early! :shamrock:

Still keeping my fingers crossed that they'll reopen Splash earlier the week before Easter in response to expected crowds (and our one day in the parks). Otherwise we'll be waiting until July 2016 to go to our laughing place.

Me too :) Our last day in the parks is Apr 2. I have prepared my kids but I am hoping for some extra magic :)

Me three! Does anyone know the best way to find out if we are over in DCA? Would Ask Otto say if it were open for a preview?

It'll be interesting to see if the attractions do re-open on the 31st, but the shops and Hungry Bear remain closed for the rest of the week or if everything (or nothing) opens on the 31st.
