Here is just a few things that happened to my 8 yr old daughter today that made it a magical day for me as well and gives me hope for the future.

1. Got there at park open and did the M/G with Merida and we were the only ones there for at least 10 minutes. The photographer took more then the usual shots and Merida took my daughter all around the M/G area and talked to her about all kinds of things.

2. My daughter wanting to play the part of Mrs. Potts and then got selected for the same part in Enchanted Tells w/ Belle and I got to be one of the guardsmen.

3. Getting pictures with all four characters (Daisy/Donald/Goofy/Minnie) in Fantasyland.

4. Having lunch at BOG when a CM comes up to us after our food is served and asks my daughter a question about "what is the beasts favorite dessert" and my daughter answers "the grey stuff" and the CM says she is correct and presents her with the grey stuff cupcake for free.

5. Walking out of BOG and a man has a quarter fall out of his pocket, my daughter picks it up and runs to the man and tells him he dropped it. The man tells her thank you and as we walk away he runs back to us and kneels down and tells her thank you and proceeds to give her a 5 dollar bill.

6. Being chosen for the Captain Jack Sparrow show and then as all the other children leave Captain Jack decides to try and dance a bit with my daughter and then both of them try to see who can Arrrrrrr the loudest.

7. Getting off Splash Mountain and right before we exit the gift shop my daughter wants the Set of 8 Pennies from Splash Mountain for $5 with the $5 she got from the man earlier. The machine takes our money :( We let the attendant at the gift shop know and he pulls out a box of pennies that were already done and proceeds to go through them to find all of the eight that my daughter wants and gives them to her. His name was Esteban.

8. Going to Starbucks and waiting in line to use 1 QS meal for 3 Snacks, a CM comes up to my daughter and compliments her on the dress she has on and makes small talk with her and then gives her a huge chocolate chip cookie for free.

9. My daughter's first experience at Casey's Corner and somehow talked me into getting her a footlong chili cheese coney because she wanted to be like the other people getting hotdogs.

10. Finally, watching my daughter tear up from watching Happily Ever After in my arms, giving me a hug and telling me she loved me.

I realize that some of you feel the magic is gone, but for some I believe the magic is still there. What are some things that bring out the magic in you?

Love this my eyes are leaking a little. glad you had such a magical day. pixiedust:

Our very first day at WDW my daughter lost her flip flop in Muppet theater. The CM there couldn't find it so he sent us to Guest Services. The CM there told my daughter that Mickey Mouse left her a present... a $30 gift card for a pair of shoes! She said they wouldn't want her without shoes for the day. From that point on we were hooked!

Sounds like an amazing day at MK. Thanks for sharing with us OP!

What an amazing day! Enjoy all the magic that the rest of your trip has to offer! :)

This post is precious! Love when people share the small little magical things.

The magic is not just for kids though:) Trust me, that magic is still there for us "kids at heart" too.

Hopefully, you'll have some more magical experiences to share!

It's those moments that you don't go looking for that are the most magical.

Maybe if people stopped searching for magic and just let it happen then they would see what there is to see. Stop expecting specific things to happen and be happy with the small little moments.

A friend is down there right now with his wife and 5 year old daughter. They went to BBB in its new location at Disney Springs. His daughter wanted to be Moana but BBB does not have a Moana dress.

While daddy ran to WoD to get a Moana dress, the CM's at BBB told the little one that "we are waiting on the mice to finish making your special dress" and played the scene of the mice making the dress in Cinderella.

This is why Disney is the best. Enjoying all those little things makes it so memorable.

Well, that made me cry hot tears. My kids are grown now, but we had some memorable magical moments, too.

Once when my daughter was about 6 we went to Epcot and they had the fountains that splash up. (The first time we had ever seen one; this sort of thing was brand new.) My daughter was fascinated and played around the edges for a bit, and finally I just took off her socks and shoes and little sweater (it had been a cool morning and was just heating up), and let her run wild in the water in her dress and undies. She must have ran in and out of the fountains for an hour, just playing her little heart out. Other kids briefly joined in, but generally, other parents yanked their kids along, not wanting them to get wet.

Eventually I fished her out and dried her off with the sweater. Her warm socks and shoes kept her cozy until her dress dried. I'm so glad that I let her guide me in what would delight her most!

Once I took my 11 year old son and his best friend that uses a wheelchair (and the friend's Mom) to Disney, and of course CMs (and people at our off site resort) were just knocking themselves over to please the two boys. Once we had exited Star Tours (which we rode 4 times in a row due to the difficulty of harnessing in the disabled child, they let the boys go nuts on it), and as we left we saw Chewbacca. This was BRAND NEW at WDW, and there was a line, extending opposite of the way we were walking. (And rolling!)

The CM with Chewbacca saw us and pivoted him towards us, saing "Chewbacca, here are some very special friends of yours!" and allowed the boys to greet him. A huge thrill for two Star Wars geeks.

Another time my daughter was 8 and she had a very realistic baby doll (a Lee Middleton) that she adored and brought on vacation with us, sometimes carrying the doll through the parks. We were at Epcot one day in France and a handsome CM came up to her and said: "Oh, is zis your bebe'? May I kees her?" Then he proceeded to kiss her doll, and then kiss her. She was over the moon! I had to laugh at a place so magical a child can be young enough to want to carry a doll, but still be old enough to be thrilled to be kissed by a handsome French youth.

The most recent time I was there, we had FP to see the Frozen live show, which was super new. We had front row seats because our elderly Mom in her wheelchair was with us. I didn't expect to love the show, but I was just swept away by it, and seeing the joy on the faces of the children in our party, and even the little girl next to me, singing her little heart out - I just sobbed. It was such a pure Disney moment of the joy of childhood!

We're going this fall and my mantra is just to be mellow and let the magic happen!

My DD excitedly greeting anyone and everyone else with a Happy Birthday button to tell them "Happy Birthday", which culminated in an entire section of the lazy river in Blizzard Beach singing to her!

Then the EPCOT CM's in Japan wrote her name properly in kanji on her Happy Birthday button at dinner, which meant we had to go get another one in English :)

I definitely have a photo of her First Parade - there is lots of wide-eyed wonder!

And of course, Arneil, the doorman at POFQ, oh he was wonderful. Every day, twice a day, he gave her wishing coins for the fountain AND he told us a number of great stories. So much that her last wish was, "I want to be in our Disney home forever!" LOL I hear he recently celebrated a work anniversary? I hope that he is there when we visit again!

I think there is something in my eye. What an awesome day you had! Thanks for sharing!
