This was our third time at this restaurant. The first time was on our honeymoon in 1993 for lunch, and we really enjoyed it.

The second time was in 2006 for lunch and although the food was pretty good our waitress was horrible.

This time we decided to try the character dinner.

As you know it starts out with the declaration salad, and rolls.

Pretty good, tasted fresh.

Next they bring the Patriots platter consisting of ham, turkey and beef, with stuffing.

They also brought out gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

And a big bowl of Stouffer's Macaroni and Cheese

The stuffing was very grainy, my DS who loves, loves, loves stuffing, hated it.

The turkey was very dry, if you put gravy on it , it made a little more palatable. The ham and steak were not bad. The best part of this meal was probably the potatoes and the Mac and cheese.

For desert you get Warm cherry cobbler with melted? vanilla ice cream.

Tasted better then it looks.

The character interaction is very good here, ( kind of makes up for the lacking food), Pluto was absolutely Psycho. He was so funny, he spent a lot of time with us, and was very funny. He had me laughing so hard, I was crying.

Goofy and Pluto had a pretend fight in the middle of the restarant, and it was very cute.

We probably will skip this resaurant next visit. I am glad we were on the DDP, made it a little easier to deal with that this meal was $100 for the three of us without the tip. But can think of so many better ways to spend a TS credit.

we really enjoyed the liberty tree tavern and the food and characters were wonderful...the kids had on their handpainted { by thier mom] tee's with minnie & goofy on them and minnie & goofy kept coming back fto see them and look at the shirts and point to themselvess and even showing people at other tables..really fun { haven't gotten to this part in my tr yet...so behind...} dgs says he will work here when he grows up and lives at disney..here adn mickeys philharmagic...lol...got his dream job lined up already...

I have to agree with you... this was our very first ts meal at WDW in Oct.2006. We LOVED the characters here, the way they were dressed, the atmosphere was great, but I was so worried the food at all the restaurants were going to be this quality. I was glad I was wrong. Don't get me wrong, the food is not bad it just tastes like meals from a box. I just thought the food was average. I was glad we did this meal though, it was fun and I was really glad when we got our bill that we had free dining!;)

We had a less than pleasant experience there last year and probably won't return anytime soon. They stuck us in the back by the kitchen to start with. Then the characters were very slow to come and they didn't even all make it to our table (dd was disappointed about that).

Our server was also bad. We were one of the last dinner tables sat and he totally rushed us. The food seemed like it was sitting for quite sometime. It was definitely not fresh. Not a good experience. Our food was almost exactly the same but didn't look as good as yours.

Although I hear lunch is a totally different experience I definitely wouldn't return for dinner.

OH, I am so Worried!!! I have a ressie to eat here in Sept, I have never eaten here. Should I keep it and say Hey I tried LTT, or should I cancel and try to find something else? Is it worth at least trying once?

Yes, I don't regret going there at all. The atmosphere is really neat and the characters are all dressed up. Here's a picture of my girls with Minnie. Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale are there too. We got a lot of good character interaction!

It is worth it to do it once, just go knowing the food isn't the main reason your there, it's for the character interaction and you wont be disapointed.:thumbsup2

Did they bring the cherry cobbler back? I love the cherry cobbler, not so crazy about the apple. This will make my day if the cherry one is back!

It was cherry, ;)

Even though it was melted it was pretty good. :thumbsup2

We have been to the Liberty Tree Tavern twice in the past two years. Food was delicious, like a Thanksgiving dinner, and it was fun having the characters circulating. Definetly a thumbs up by all 5 of us!

I booked this for our night in MK to watch Spectromagic, because it was convenient. We really enjoyed it. The food was great. And since so many of the kids menus have the same things, chicken nuggets, fries it was nice to have "real food". The mashed potatoes and gravy and all the meats were very good. We had apple pie a la mode for dessert. The characters were great and my kids loved the way they announced us. Something like, "All Hail the Kinney family from the great state of NC."
:thumbsup2

[Does anyone know what type of sauce is on the platter? Is that on the ham? Thanks :)

It was on the ham, it was a type of brown sugar glaze I think, hope that helps, it was ok. The ham and beef were so much better then the turkey.

Mmmm that all looks so yummy. We were not able to get a reservation at Liberty Tree. I am so bummed!

Thanks Jakesmom1. I am not a fan of sauces. I'll just order it without any sauce. I would have been surprised.:sad1:
