It's Chris Evans. He was the Torch in the Fantastic 4 movies, and he was also Jake (aka "the jock") in Not Another Teen Movie.

Ahhhh. My son dressed up as the Torch a few years ago. The costume came with an awesome head piece made of plastic which made it look like he was sprouting flames. Sometimes I wear it around just to scare the dogs.

:wave2: Afternoon Libs! The days are getting closer and I can hardly maintain my excitement! How many days Jen? :hyper:

My first crush was Donny Osmond. :lovestruc

:scared:

Oh...and 44 days!!! :teeth:

Hey, peeps! I'm unpacking my new Dell computer. I'll be rushing off soon to buy the correct wireless card to hook it into our network. Color me excited. Did you watch our soon to be Prez on Meet the Press this morning? That man can think and express himself so well! What a wonderful change. :woohoo:

In addition I'm so very happy that General Shinseki will be Secretary of Veterans Affairs, a responsibility very dear to my heart. I think he'll do an amazing job. And the stick Obama stuck in the eye of Bush and Rumsfeld (who didn't like Shinseki's honesty) makes it even more wonderful. :thumbsup2

George Michael was my first crush. He was the first of many gay boys I've had crushes on. My most recent is Neil Patrick Harris.

I missed most of it. I'm going to catch it on MSNBC this evening:happytv:

Evening libs!

I spent the day decorating my house for the holidays.

I cleaned my house from top to bottom this weekend! I even cleaned out the fridge. Had to make room for all that arugula. ;)

My DS and I also went and picked our children from the giving tree. We got all of that stuff today.

We also adopted a student from the HS I work at. I suppose we adopted her children...she is a single mommy to 2, and is working to get her HS diploma.

It was a wonderful day!

I hope all of you have a wonderful conclusion to your weekend!

Jen, sounds like you had a full day. Hope your adopted momma and her kids have a wonderful Christmas. Did you get all your arugula?

We have not decorated yet. I know, I'm a bad person. Next thing you know, I'll be having Bill Ayers over for tea.

Cooked for the in-laws all day. My FIL is the nicest man, but it's a lot of work. I even made homemade ice cream--I have an Italian ice cream maker with a freezer built-in. It's my pride and joy. I demanded it after giving birth to twins! Some women want jewelry, I want kitchen equipment . . . . .

I never got George Michael. His hair is too poofy. Also, those shorts from his Wham days are permanently scaring my mind.

Now Anderson Cooper? He is my gay man crush. The silver fox . . . . .

I was only able to fit 3 packages of arugula into the fridge. The rest of it is full of organic fruits and vegetables that I picked myself at the local farms in the area.

It's a slippery slope having Bill over for tea, dontcha know? First...palling around with terrorsts, NEXT...leading the nation. :confused3

I always ask for kitchen equipment as well. That and a star adopted in my name.

AC. Yummm.

I love all 360 degrees o' that man.

Hi folks - I haven't been around for a while - had a busy weekend this weekend, culminating with a day spent in NYC today!

Our agenda -

- Leave Jersey at 8:30 am
- Quickie bfast at Dean & Deluca in Rockefeller Center and some tree photos
- Mass at St. Pats, with Cardinal Egan
- Back to the tree for more photos
- Disney Store for our away from FL shopping (sadly, they are closing this location)
- Mickey Mantle's for lunch and Giant game (we didn't win, but Dallas lost, so we won the division! Woo Hoo!!)
- Back to NJ - 3:30 pm

I'm tired!!!!!

So - has Bush and Co done anything stupid this weekend while I wasn't looking?

;)

Can you believe Gloria Vanderbilt is his mother? Somehow, it seems so appropriate.

I'm so PC I don't even have a fridge. In fact, I forage for all our food. That ice cream maker actually fell off a Hummer driven by some conservatives on their way back from a canned hunt. I have no idea why they had an ice cream maker strapped to the back of their vehicle.

Sounds like you had so much fun. Good for you!

And really, did you have to ask? Are they breathing?

Sounds like you had a great time. I love going into NYC during the holidays!

Good evening, fellow libs. THought I'd share that I was reprimanded for the first time today--twice actually, for the same thread--for "minor personal attacks." I've been on the board for NINE years (actually, before then, since it was before this "disBoard" opened). This is my first "infraction." One was really very minor, commenting on negative assertion in someone's signature, something I've always found offensive. The second was against a poster who is so full of Anti-Obama venom that she needs no introduction....

I can't decide if I'm ashamed of myself or proud that I finally said what I thought to two arch neo-cons who post often. Hmmmm.

Ashamed wins but only by a bit.

Just sharing.

Knew only you all would understand. I'm going back into nice mode....

Well, you have me beat. I don't forage. My idea of foraging is heading to Wal-mart on a Saturday afternoon with the masses. O' course...when you only have Wal-mart, you have to suffer in silence.

There are times I'm more vocal about my dislike for the devil. (aka: Wal-mart)

I usually sob when I turn my cart up and down the aisles.

We were so lucky we went before today's cool front. It is really freezing out there tonight!

My DH went to the Giants game today, and he came home an ice-cube. He's finally dethawing. It's so cold and windy out tonight!

Nice is fine. But, don't stop standing up for what you believe.

And don't be ashamed. We've all been there. :rolleyes1

You were brave enough to type what many of us think!

All I know is THANK GOD Obama is our next President.
