The Liberal Thread #2 - No Debate Please

Many of these same people going into apoplexy over Obama's former pastor (now retired) never had a problem with Falwell or Robertson or the rest of the religious right hatemongers. Not even a peep.

And there's no more entertaining show then watching white people getting all indignant over black people complaining about racism and discrimination. It's like it offends their sensibilities even more than the actual racism and discrimination.

They are drooling over at the Pastor thread. I wonder how long they can keep that going.

Btw, is there a "John McCain" thread where folks on the other side of the aisle can discuss the merits of their candidate and the good he'll do for the country?

Or is their entire argument based on "NoBama" and "geez those Dems/libs are killing each other?

At this point, surely they have something nice to say about their candidate and where he plans to take the country? He really does have plans, right? Maybe folks on the other side of the aisle ought to worry less about Obama's FORMER preacher and more about why people should vote for their candidate?

Geez, what a fresh idea. :lmao:

From DailyKos:

The LA Times, the Baltimore Sun, CBS News.com, and, unsurprisingly, Fox News, also got into the act, drawing attention to [the Rev. Jeremiah] Wright’s controversial remarks, and in some cases to his history of similarly inflammatory rhetoric.

Meanwhile, John McCain has a Christian ally of his own. At a rally in late February, McCain appeared with Rod Parsley, the pastor of an Ohio mega-church, and called him a "spiritual guide."

Parsley has his own history of controversial statements. As David Corn reported this week for Mother Jones, Parsley has called for Christians to wage war against the "false religion" of Islam, in order to destroy it. He does not distinguish between Islamic extremists and ordinary Muslims. "What some call ‘extremists’ are instead mainstream believers who are drawing from the well at the very heart of Islam," he has written.

And it’s not just Muslims he’s got it in for. Last year, Parsley’s organization called for people who commit adultery to be prosecuted, and in January he compared Planned Parenthood to the Nazis.

But the press has largely shrugged off the Parsley story. I couldn’t find one mainstream American news outlet that has so much as mentioned Parsley’s extremist views since McCain appeared publicly with him in late February.

Oh the drama! They do love a good feeding frenzy. ;) And guess who'll they'll blame when this so called scandal disappears? The big bad Liberal Media again for not keeping it on the front page every day until the election.

And don't you just love how the Cons have annointed Hillary the "Chosen One"? Gee, a few months ago she was the Witch Queen of The Universe. You need a score card to keep up with their flip floping. :rotfl:

They anointed her a LONG time ago... Where have you been?

Gas is more than $4.00 a gallon in many areas, the second largest mutual fund holder (Bears Stearn) nearly went belly up yesterday, the Iraq war is still going on & BEST YET?

Bush yesterday said serving in Afghanistan was ROMANTIC.... yes folks, that's what the man said...

And have we mentioned what Rod Parsley espouses????

Oh, and the Cons. are DYING to run against Clinton.

I'm still waiting for the "John McCain is our guy and here's why you should vote for him" thread. Anybody on the other side of the aisle care to give it a whirl so the good folks here can see that the argument isn't "well, because".

One last note: I love the "righteous indignation'ers" judgment angle when it comes to what they claim is Obama's bad judgement. :lmao:

Almost to a person, these "righteous indignation'ers" have never questioned Bush's judgement, have by and large agreed with his conduct of the war/economy/wireless wiretaps/etc.

With such a track record of recognizing good/bad judgement when they see it, pardon me if I find the "righteous indignation'ers" a bit lacking in judgement and downright hysterical.

Here's to another great show by the those on the other side of the political aisle. They practically do our work for us. :drinking1

Yeh, but they don't need to do that, the Dem's are imploding in on themselves, McCain's win is all but certain to be honest... The DNC has shown nothing but poor judgement in this ongoing saga, there's nothing pointing to that getting any better... These people are hate mongering, fear mongering Monsters, and that is all they are. Iraqi armed forces were interviewed by CNN reporter Arwa Damon, they all want a Democrat in the WH because they see what the Republican's do... it makes no difference... we invade their country, Bush says it is romantic to be on the frontlines and nobody says anything. The American people will do as they have always done, vote for fear...

Oh, I remember not so very long ago when Obama was the breath of fresh air and Hillary was dirt. I recall a few even hinting, to my shock, they liked him enough to perhaps even support him. Like I said, you need a scorecard. If Hillary pulls this off somehow you'll see the tune over there change again, I'm sure.

It's the NY Times' fault!

We will start to see the revival of the Clinton scandal threads in about 5 weeks after Clinton wins PA by 15.

I don't think the scandal will disappear when it comes out that Obama lied about hearing offensive statements.

This article is from August 2007: http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2007/8/8/194812.shtml

I recall him saying that he had hear one or two offensive sermons and he brought it up to the pastor... it seems he did not go as regularly as the most self righteous

But what I don't see people talking about is that Clinton herself exaggerates her own experience time and time again http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2008/03/14/clinton_role_in_health_program_disputed/

I've never counted either of these candidates in or out, regardless of what others may have said, I have my personal preference, but I seriously doubt if either one of them will be voted into the WH....

What has gone on with the Economy is nothing but shameful, yet nobody talks about it. The damage we have done to our own imagine is shameful, but nobody talks about that either... These are non-issues while the other side of the aisle is just sitting pretty.....

There is no honesty in Politics. McCain has flip flopped like a caught fish on nearly every topic, yet you hear none of it... I'm curious why that is? because Democrats are too busy killing each other's candidate... that's why...

I'll take the first shift in the search for the "John McCain is our guy thread".

No he specifically said that he never personally heard any of the offensive statements and that he would have walked out of the church if he had. If the article is true than that was a lie.

I'm also searching for the Obama outrage from the Beltway Republicans. If this is such a big scandal, how come I haven't heard Bush screaming for Obama's head? Or any other prominent Senate or Congressional Republican leading the charge with sword drawn?........ All I hear are the pundits and the 30%ers. I guess the big bad liberal media just isn't reporting it. ;)

I think someone should start a McCain thread & invite the repubs to join in why they love him. That thread should die in about 3 minutes.
