The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow to close on November 6th

I'm going in November and the thought of going to that attraction had not even occurred to me. I'm totally fine with them closing it.

Along with the tortilla factory and sourdough bakery tours at DCA, one of the worst "attractions" in Disney Park history!:crazy2:

Wow! Open for less than 2 years. That's far more shortsighted than I expected from Disney.

How about relocate it and make it the preshow to POTC, now that the wait for that has increased w/ FP+?

It was horrible, primarily because they didn't explain to you what was so "cool" about it. We dined with an imagineer that was part of the team and she told us all about how they did what they did and the technology they had to create to do it. I feel like it should have had a little pre show showing you how the light effects worked before the (kinda boring) show part. Would have made it much cooler and fit with the hollywood behind the scenes thing the park is supposed to represent.

That's fine. There's already too much to do in DHS as it is! (Sarcasm). I was kind of looking forward to seeing this in December. Last time I was there it was some odd Narnia exhibit. Oh well.

Trust me, you're not missing much. It's like the pre-show of an attraction that doesn't exist. It's fine if there's no line and you've got some time to kill or you wanna get out of the heat for a bit, but it's not anything amazing.

We liked it well enough, the hologram tech was kinda cool.
And like the previous poster said, with so few things to do in DHS, I would not think shutting down an attraction would be a priority.

Don't get me wrong, I love DHS! My two favorite Disney rides are there Star Tours & Tower of Terror. But the park definitely doesn't hold up to Magic Kingdom or EPCOT as to activities to keep you busy.

Well, shoot, I kinda wanted to check it out on our next trip. Oh well, it doesn't seem like we missed much!

The only reason this annoys me is because now there's even fewer places for people to go in this park, thus clogging up the few attractions it does have.

Now I got to update our touring plans again. A few months ago I had to remove American Idol from our plan. A few weeks ago I had to take out the Backlot Tour which we hadn't done in years but were planning to do it this year. We had never done the Capt. Jack tour and were going to do it this year.

This makes me kind of glad we did this on our last trip. We also talked the kids into riding maelstrom because we were there the day before it closed. we did captain jack after we got aced out of toy story during their delightful test.

If only we had gone a few days earlier we could have done The backlot tour and American idol to complete the farewell tour.

Ok' I was sad when I heard about Indy. I didn't really care about idol, and back lot tours was pushing it. But this is over the edge. I have cancelled all my FPs and ADRs. Trying to get credits for my flights and cancel the hotel ....

Oh wait, did you say Captain Sparrow Tour... never mind.
;)

We saw people standing in a 45 minute line for this in June. :scared1: We walked in towards in the end of the day because they were getting ready to close the door and we were walking by. I walked out thinking of those poor people that waited for 45 minutes for that! It is something we would never ever go to again but now my DS loved Backlot Tour and was sad to see it go.

We enjoyed it.My Imagineer wannabe daughter speculated the rest of the day on how exactly they did the effects.
