Morning Jeannie! Morning Nancy!
I'm SOOOO tired. Maybe I should have remembered to switch my alarm clock off last night? Just a thought...
I've just read 20 pages of ya yaing but that was fun! I wish I could remember what I was going to say about it but I'm too brain dead. I do know I missed congrats to you Pam for your 2K/should have been 3K - congrats!!! And you know Tyler too! Isn't he just adorable!
A mini-report (can't be a trip one cos I didn't go anywhere!) -
I completely forgot to warn Debbi and family that Germany's not all like Bavaria (which is what most people think of as `Germany´). Most of it's flat. So her DH was disappointed. Mannheim lived down to this disappointment (I'd been worrying about that). Because it got badly bombed in the war there isn't much that isn't post-war. You know what I mean - concrete, ugly. We've got a nice selection of churches but not much else... Tyler was my hero - not many 6-year-olds love churches! Debbi and I were fine in Mannheim of course - it's got shops! - Tim was very sad though... but Heidelberg saved the day - it's just so cute!
Debbi was really ill - really b-a-d cold both days. She'd got meds and they helped but you could literally see them wearing off. And the weather was grey and drizzly which didn't help. Could have been worse but...
We only got one lot of cakes in and they were SO disappointing. I still feel bad about that.
We went out for German food last night - they'd had pizza on Thursday and gone to the American base on Friday because they didn't understand the menu. German ain't an easy language. We never go out for German food so I had to walk round last night to try and find one - we were so lucky with the one I chose. Great wait staff! It looked like a small family business and the `Mom´ would have fit in so well at that MGM place. `If you've any questions, don't ask me´. She wouldn't let me have Spätzle with my meat. `They don't go together. You can have fries, fried potatoes or croquettes´. Roland had a different meat `You can have Spätzle if you want´. Tim couldn't have his steak well done. `It'll be slightly pink, tell him to trust me´. Debbi had a different steak, `How does she want hers? She can chose´. I loved her!
I can't think of anything else right now - that's more than enough for the skimmers anyway! Sadly, Tiggerlover's gone now but I had such a lovely Dis meet - anyone else want to come?
Have a great day everyone! I'm doing my third Christmas market in 3 days today - bliss! See you all later.
