Hi Betty!!
To answer your question...nope, I NEVER peeked....of course I believed in Santa until I was in high school!!!:p Hmmmm....actually I still believe in Santa!!! And it's not because I was a good little Catholic girl...heh heh...can't fool ya'll with that one can I?;) I just totally LOVE surprises!!! I am still that way...lucky for me  dh doesn't give a hang about surprises...he just doesn't get it! He gives nice gifts but he will shop for tham and give them to me right away...unwrapped...because HE can't keep a secret. So usually I don't have a gift under the tree anyway now...no need to peek.
Glad to hear teaching is going so well Betty but we sure do miss you around here!

Good night Michele

Have to share one more thing.....DD has a crew shirt that has the cutest saying on it (I'm having her order me one).
On the back is a picture of a girl holding an oar and it says "Babes with Blades". :teeth:

Well, DH is watching Sopranos and DD is taking a bubble bath (she misses having a tub).

WAAAAHH!! Jennifer those are PRECIOUS!!!!:p:p:p:p

Somebody grab Miss Marilyn an antacid before she goes night-night!

Pam did you give me your cold? (JK-I know it was my darling Nick-y-poooh.:()I'm glad you're all better to make us all happy with your earthy cuisine.:)

Elaine what did you do for dinner? And are these riots REALLY like that??? Not just rowdy fans tp-ing the campus?
Have to confess, I was a bit worried about the lime green underwear. The hatties are so much more appropriate for a family environment.
Worried, my eye. All I remember is Beth returning to a quiet Beach House one evening, stripping down to her YaYa undies(if that;)) and running free and unfettered onto a moonlit beach-is she an elder YaYa, 'cause that would explain A LOT;). (I'm an elder YaYa in-training...got my Ben-Gay, Geritol and Nyquil.:))

Jennifer-how was Waking Life?

Dream-I'm excited about a YaYa meet! When were you thinking?

Betty! What a coup on that DRESS!!!! I LOOOOVVVVE it when that happens!:p:p:p Let us know if she goes!:)

Nancy-I'm so happy your DD is home with you. It sounds like there's just so much love and friendship between you too. I just spoke with my Mom too-there was a lot of yelling (not in anger-we have a slight language...mm, not barrier...but small speed bumps and we think increasing volume will increase clarity  but we're really chummy too. Makes my Dad a little jealous. Poor thing. He and Nick get along great though.;))

Jay-suckup.:):):);)

I forgot who spit out the coffee-Karen, right---I saw that this morning and am only now getting the full comic effect. And there was a frightful tooth-pulling-Michele!

Oh and Kim-I too knew right away which devilish charmer was yours!;)

AAAck-I can't do it! I know I'm not caught up but I'm afraid of how many other posts have come in since I started...MOTHY people.;)

 Night Michele!!!

UGH!!! THe boards are so slow so I am getting so behind.

Betty, don't worry about the OU partying thing. I am sure you've heard about Halloween but that has been curbed in the past years. In general from what I've seen OU is not nearly as bad as OSU so you won't have much to fear... I survived 4 1/2 years at OSU so I am sure your son can do OU just fine :)

For Christmas I never peaked. I did however enjoy trying to figure out what the gifts were while they were wrapped. It was neat. My family would try to trick me because I got pretty good at it. They would be so mad when I would say "Oh that's a T-shirt, a penny and a stone" because they would throw the penny & the stone in to try to trick me. I didn't want to spoil the surprise, I just like figuring things out like that I guess.

I had to share a funny cat story. I was walking through the kitchen by the cat fountain (water fountain for my furbabies) and I saw Gwenie sitting on the floor with her paw draped in the fountain... she was playing and battng with the water. It was so cute & funny!!!

Oh and wish me luck on Wednesday. I procrastinated and didn't get the Zip Zaps when I first saw them for my cats for Christmas. Well on Weds they are getting a new shipment in so I will try to get them on my way home from work. I just hope I get out an hour or so early :)

Believe it or not Jeannie, I just had toast. I really couldn't think of anything else I wanted and it was getting late so I didn't want to eat a lot. Oh well :)

I am not joking, the riots were like that. I saw the scenes on the news (espn) and it was awful. They showed charred cars, overturned cars... an entire street had all the cars in view turned on their side (not top either, just on the sides which was kind of funny to see). They showed burnt papers, furnature, kids rioting in the streets holding signs they dug from the ground. It looked terrible!!! These kids are well beyond TPing (didn't even see any of that) and it was just a sad sad sight to see.

Hi Jeannie! I have no date in mind for the meet other than "summer"...specific enough for ya? :p Whenever we can get the most of us together in one place...wherever it might be.

Jeannie.....wanted to wait until you were back to give my movie review(didn't want you to miss it in the skimming ;) )

Interesting movie, like nothing I have ever seen. I would recommend watching it. It wasn't lighthearted, nor was it heavy. It was a real mental workout with a lot of interesting points of view and theories about exisitence. Get it and let me know what you think.

I love surprises for myself, but much like Jodies dh, I can't keep a secret to save my life!!! Why do you think I posted the hat pictures? ;) :p

Hi Betty. I bet Allison is going to look beautiful!!! We want details next weekend!!!!

Hey Elaine, what cat fountain? I need to hear about that!!! Butterscotch sits in the window sill of the kitchen over the sink and waits for someone to turn it on so he can get a drink. He would love a water fountain!

Nancy...how could I not send you a hat!!! I'm waiting patiently for our Feb. trip (or some dis meet before that) to wear my pin!!!!!
When do you leave?

Ok, moving me and the computer to the bed........

Edited:Elaine, Yikes-I missed exactly where we are talking about? Was it an isolated incident or does this happen in most (forgive my sports ignorance) big 10 sports schools and other big sporting scholls/towns(?)?

And I can believe the toast. Around here, when I'm just not in the mood, I open up a can of Campbell's tomato soup and leave it at that. Before I met Nick...it wasn't even in cans; we're talking about powdered soups and Cup O Nooodles. I can't believe some of the amazing cooking that goes on among these ambitious YaYas on a daily basis-y'all are luck I don't live nearby.
I'd be like Kramer on Seinfeld...coming over, dipping my finger in your stews, opening your fridge and picking at leftovers...heehee. :):):)

I can totally see you as Kramer, Jeannie!!! :p

In college it was Ramen Noodles with butter and salt for us!

oopps... forgot to say, Betty, takes me around an hour to make each hat.

Michele, I'll be sending it trough the reg, mail.

One more thing I forgot to mention and now can't think of it.....

kramer.jpg

Have you also seen Vanilla Sky Jennifer? I enjoyed Vanilla Sky and I thought Waking Life might be sort of like that but now I'm interested in maybe making a comparison since you recommend it. I'll let you know....Uggh! As soon as I read my overdue, recalled library books!!!:p:p:p

Aah perfect Jodie, SUMMER Yaya meet. What if we all turn out to be really quiet IRL?

:p :pBWAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHA!

What is really sad is that I wasn't in the mood to make even soup or Ramen noodles (imagine that). So since I had a very late lunch I figured toast was good :) I wouldn't mind cooking more but I guess after some of the days I have at work I am just too tired mentally to deal with that. Today I was dealing with my cold so I definitely wasn't in the mood

Jeannie, the riots used to be a normal thing for the OSU fans. None of the other Big 10 schools were ever this bad and we had gotten better over the years. But last night was just "it" for OSU fans and they just let it get way out of hand. I think this is one of the worst I have heard about since the "weekly" rioting started back in '95. So what I was talking about was just an isolated event fortunately. I think they were just mad because the new goal posts are virtually indestructable and they couldn't get them down ;) I just hope it doesn't happen again after the Fiesta bowl!

Jennifer, the fountain I have is called the Drinkwell pet fountain. They love it. It has running water that is filtered and unlike some, it actually gives a small continuing stream of water for cats to drink from (like they would from the sink). My babies love it and both drink up the water from the little stream that falls. It is $50  (give or take) but it was so worth it and it keeps us from spending money on water dripping from faucets for them :)

Well all I am off to bed now. I am not too tired but I figured I ought to go just to be good to myself since I have been fighting the cold. Night all!

Good night Elaine.

I'm fighting a tickle in my throat too-we've got to quarantine this place :)!

KRAMER!!! Gotta love that guy!!:p

Jeannie? Us quiet? Well maybe for 5 minutes and then there will not be another quiet second the whole time we are together!!!:p

I know what I'm sending this bunch for christmas......lysol and cough drops!!!!! Hey, when we do meet....is anyone going to risk hugging anyone else.....given that we share all our germs here, I guess we'll all be immune!!! :p ;)

You remember the study showing how women who share their lives together like at a dorm or a sorority get their MONTHLY FRIEND at the same time??? Heaven help us if we're PMSing at the same time!!! Jay might want reconsider...no man-not even a bother!-will be safe!:teeth:

I just wandered oer to the Debate Boards...used to think they were fun...now they look like reruns. I think I'm going to call it quits for the night.

I guess Nancy's gone for the evening :). So-Good Morning Carol-I'm going to bring Nancy and her double-barrel checkbook as a shield if we ever have a shopping date together :p !

Night Jeannie!!! Oooo....the Ya Yas pmsing at the same time?!?!?!?! QUICK! Think of something else or you'll have nightmares all night long!!:p Sweet dreams you guys! I am turning in too...been a long day.
Good morning Carol!!!

Jeannie....I'm not gone for the night.....it is still early for me! ;)
Oh no, the cold is working its way too you! This is a scary one.
Oh and Jeannie, I love Campbell's Tomato Soup :teeth:

But it is going to be harder to get computer time...another one here for the week to share it with. I don't share MY computer well.

So Good night to most of you

Jennifer...I leave the night of the 3rd :teeth:

Well, it looks like I've been deserted another night :(
Where are all my evening chat buddies?

So...I'm allowing Christin (DD) to take possession of the computer and am off to read for awhile.

Good night.....and Good morning Carol

I'm such a liar...I didn't turn in after all! :teeth: Having Thanksgiving anxiety attacks-what to cook, game strategy etc. (MOM is NOT a cook and has turned this sort of thing over to me and Nick .)

I thought you wouldn't be back bc you'd be busy catching up with DD, Nancy...Let us know what you buy when you two get some quality girls only shopping in!:):):)

Now, for real...
