The last leaf has been raked

My husband and I just finished today raking for the fall. Grand total for the season... 86 bags!!! Our neighbors laugh at us because we have no toys, no blowers, no baggers, no power mowers. Just the two of us and two rakes! It feels so good to look at the yard, all clean and tidy, and know we did it all. Anyone else just finish? Now, time for the Christmas lights... no rest for the weary.

We have woods in the back and on the side. When the wind shifts and blows from the north, it blows our leaves into the woods. I do have to rake the ones that get stuck on the grass or in the shubs, but often I mow them up with the lawn mower. I remember our old house with all of those leaves that we had to rake. Oak leaves are the worse.

We have raked 3 times already. I also helped a neighbor one day. We have nothing but rakes also. I hate the fact that our tree finishes before our neighbor next to us and catty cornered across the street. The wind was going like crazy the other day. Wanna guess which yard it all ended up in??lol I am hoping the one neighbor gets out and finishes her yard soon or we will be doing it again. My DH is convinced we are going to get a mower with a bagger next year.
I do love how it looks right after you are done.

We have curbside pick-up by the town, but we were first on the list this year, so they came to our neighborhood when like 10 leaves had fallen.

Since then we have been mulching them up & putting them in big garbage bags, which I will take ot the dump and dump in the "yard waste' area.

We have a mulching mower, so I mulch them up with it first, then put the bag on it and pick them up in the bag.

I had to rake at my moms house today, she has a lot of tress, I would rather have needles stuck in my eyes before I see another rake
