Hi all,
I just got home from our camping weekend and my DD kept me updated all along...even this morning before I left to come home...no kittens. She just kept telling me, "Mom, she is getting bigger and bigger...I think she is gonna pop"
I came home, settles in and walked into my bedroom and there in the closet is Sehnzi and her just born kittens!
I started counting right away and saw 5! Then I found another...and another and another.....
8 kittens!!!!!!
They were so newly born that 2 of them still had their placentas attached and 4 of them were still wet.
From a first glance looksie during 'weight in':
2 are black with white stripes by their noses (one has white legs)
2 are orange tiger striped
2 are all black
1 is all black with grey legs
1 looks like Shenzi
Shenzi is doing really well, purring and caring for them like a good mommy. She allows me to handle them (to weigh them), but I put them right back. I am going to have to keep a close eye on their weights to see if they are getting enough milk...I have kitten formula so I will supplement as needed. I want to make sure they all get the first day milk she has because it is so vital to their health.
I will definitely post pictures later. I have tons of laundry to do and gear to unpack...I will update later.
