The kitchen rest @ hard rock

I was looking at the website & this rest caught my eye, it says it character dining but no characters are listed. Has anyone ate there are there characters? if so which ones? do u need to pay in advance to make res & do u need to stay @ teh hard rock to eat there? thanks

They don't tell you in advance. They just say "Universal Characters." But, about an hour before the meal, concierge was able to let me know. It was Scooby and Shrek the night I checked as well. (End of August) As PP mentioned, you don't need to pay in advance. Concierge can make reservations for you on the day of the meal.

We ate there in June and it was Bart and Homer Simpson. Glad to see they change the characters out every now and again.

It was Wed. and Sat. when we were there last month. I don't remember the exact times, but it was dinner hours.

We had Homer and Bart in August as well...the Kitchen has a kids buffet for dinner- it is off to the side a bit so it is easy to go unnoticed. It has great kid food and I believe it was only $8.95

The Kitchen is great! We ate there last summer when we stayed at HRH. DH had a chinese chicken salad served in a collander, I had wonderful pot roast, the kids had steak (kids menu). We saw the Simpsons as a bonus. Food eas good and portions quite large. Highly recommend it!

In August it was Shrek/Scooby on Wednesday and Bart/Homer on Saturday, from about 6 to 9 pm. Very low key and nice, though I don't recommend the brick oven pizza. Dessert was yummy, some kind of chocolate cake w/raspberries.
