I just finished Kingdom Keepers by Ridley Pearson. It was fantastic!!! I read all 330 pages in one day! I literally only stopped for bathroom breaks!!! The author said on his message board that he is going to start the second book very soon and he's going to try to have it published within the year! I am so pumped about this book and it was well worth the $20 I spent at Borders! I just ordered the audiobook from amazon.com. Here is the link for the book and summary: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0786854448/sr=8-2/qid=1149815035/ref=pd_bbs_2/002-0727492-0253655?%5Fencoding=UTF8 :thumbsup2 Buy this book!

Hey thanks, I can't wait to read it

This book looks really awesome. I don't know why but I haven't heard of this book before reading this thread. Talk about living in a bubble. I'm going to pick it up before we leave for Disney so I can sit at the pool and read. Thanks for starting this thread.

Being a teacher I am always giving my grandchildren books. This is one I gave as a teaser for Disneyland trip. We read from the book everytime they came to NaNa and Papa's and finished it when we were on the way. They didn't know they would be going to Disneyland. The anticipation they felt after finishing the story and then being told where we were going led to a fabulous vacation. (Eventhough the book is about Disneyworld and not Disneyland)

I now have the book on DVD and my grandkids always ask to hear it when we travel together.

I enjoyed the story as much as they did. :cheer2:

qtwns Here's info on the 1st Jack Sparrow book. It's a kid's chapter book but I enjoyed it. You can also go here to amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/14...f=pd_bbs_1/102-2617679-6096920?_encoding=UTF8

Book Description
Before the Black Pearl, there was a teenage stowaway named Jack Sparrow...

The story of Jack Sparrow starts here! Teenage stowaway Jack Sparrow has assembled a motley crew and they’re on the quest of a lifetime. Their goal: to locate and procure the legendary Sword of Cortés, which will grant them unimaginable power. But will this ragtag team of adventurers survive their first mission or will they succumb to the power of the sea, vicious pirates, ancient curses, and the stormy threat of nature itself?

Where can you get this book???? I have wanted to read it...can I only get it at WDW or online? or is it in bookstores?

I am a good ways through this book now. The book has been a fun read. I think that any kid who is a Disney fan will enjoy this book. The inaccuracies in this book, IMHO, are basically part of what makes this a fictional story. I dont think it takes away from the story at all but if anything adds to the imagination of the young reader. My 3 oldest kids are very excited to read this book and they keep asking me if I am done yet. I thought of reading it aloud to all 5 of my kids but decided against it due to the fact some parts may be scary to my 6 year olds. One of them inparticularly was very hestitant to go on alot of rides the last time and has mentioned she would like to try to go on HM and POTC on our trip next April and I do not want to do anything to ruin that for her.

The only thing I can say negative of the story is that is seems like once something big starts happening and the story picks up it seems to end rather abruptly and a next chapter starts. I have gone away a few times feeling that there should have been more to a particular excerpt. Keep in mind though this book is meant for kids not adults. That could be something a child would not even notice. Like I said before though it is a fun book.

I found The Kingdom Keepers at Barnes & Noble's website for only $4.98 ($4.48 if you're a member)! That's even cheaper than used at half.com!
Here's a link.
