We took the kids over to the Humane Society today to meet Tazz!! :bounce: They all reacted so well to each other. Tazz jumped happily to each of them, didn't play favorites (any parent with more than 1 child knows how important this is!! :earseek: ) and the kids can't wait to bring him home on Wednesday. :hyper:

Here's a little peek at our newest fur baby!!

PS These are DH's legs...............NOT mine!!;)

AWWWW!!! I don't even particularly like dogs!

I kinda thought those were man legs, but thanks for clarifying!

He's so sweet. What breed is he?

Have fun with the new edition.....

He's a one year old Pomeranian. He really needs a good grooming. His fur is kind of matted. We already got the shampoo and brush ready for him! :earseek:

Very cute.
smilingmouse he is a Pomerainin.

Gee, now that I'm a mom to a dog, I better change my tag so as not to offend any dogs..............or hydrants!! :earseek: ;)

I love Poms! He's so cute! We have a 5yo pom we got from a rescue in 2002, we renamed him Basil. We had another one who died in 2000 (Peanut Butter). He was a great dog. I love Basil too, but he's got some issues as his was severely abused by his former owners for almost 3 years. He's come a long way though and my daughter loves him (though I don't really trust him around her yet)! Here is his with his Halloween costume last fall.

Even before I would consider adopting Tazz, the afternoon we spent with him (before the kids met him), I took the time to try to "annoy" him. I did anything I could think of that kids could possibly do (not that I would allow them!!). I offered him a snack to make sure he didn't grab it out of my hands, then took it back off of him. I picked at his feet, opened his mouth to check out the teeth, looked inside his ears. :earseek: He never showed the slightest hint of aggression. :D

My first pom was like that, so I guess I just assumed the 2nd would be too. I think he just had too much abuse in his life, but he really put most of it behind him, just weird things that occasionally set him off. (We got his vet records and he was severely underweight, had a vase thrown at his head, jaw broken, cracked ribs from being kicked.) So despite his little quirks, we love him anyway cause he's the friendliest little guy when he wants to be. Good luck with Tazz, he's a cutie!
