Hi folks,
Just wanted to put up a note regarding planning your days at WDW. We're visiting Jan 6 thru 10th with a friend and her family. This has been planned since the summer because we had to work around the Disney 1/2 Marathon. So we made our ADR choices back in July. We had an original group of 12.......now down to 8. So we split making the resi's. My group was Dinner at the Flying Fish on Thursday night for 12, which we split into 2 reservations of 6 each. Our second one was a breakfast at Cape May Cafe on Friday morning, again for 12 with the same setup as for the FFish. So we moved happily on our way with a generic plan with our friends and a bit more detailed plan for my wife in I.......that took the other folks into account.
So about a month ago we found out that a small group of friends won't be going
...........so that impacts the numbers.........from 12 to 8. The only mistake I made here was not trying to get a resi for 8 when I first found out. Now I either need to make a phone call or.....just go with it. But that isn't that bad.
The Cape May resi was one that always concerned me because our friends will be coming from the CR, which is a haul to the BC, especially in the morning before parks open...........and because this is Magic Kingdom day! So we schlep to BC (not bad for us since we're at BWV's).......and then all the way over to the MK...........I get tired thinking of it.
So in discussing this with our friends they said it would be best if they didn't do this one.........which I had no issue with at all. So now its just my wife and I...........no worries. The Cape May Cafe breakfast is my personal favorite because it was my first character breakfast with my favorite character "Goofy"! It's been a tradition at every visit we make to WDW.
However, my wife and I just visited in December..........had a wonderful time at Cape May.........got a great photo with "My Dog"!! So she suggested we skip it this time, since its so close. What she suggested since we haven't done RD in a few visits and its in our plan for the day anyway! Lets do MK RD instead! Even with missing out on my tradition...........I loved the idea! So now we'll do RD (at 8:00am xtra magic hours
) and jump on 7DMT first thing
We have a big dinner at the Castle around 4:30 so it will be a full day........but since our friends are running Saturday morning.....they'll leave early..........Donna and I can go check out Trader Joe's after dinner.
None of this impacts our park choices or touring..........it in fact enhances our touring IMHO! In the end, being flexible and dealing with change can be done. The fact that we didn't over plan did make it easier.......It also helped that my wife and I and our friends aren't rookies.......we've all visited WDW many times so we don't really have any true must do's!
