I was thinking I was all set and not worried about the shutdown, then Southwest bumped us off our flight and I don't want to make changes until I can see if I can get a room for an extra night.

With that same thought of stalking, wonderingif any other stalker are actually hoping they DON’T fix the waitlist system? I know I’ll likely be in the minority here, but I’ve scored some highly sought after reservations by stalking where I know at least my waitlist wasn’t picking it up, forget the others that were likely ahead of me lol.

They didn't really "bump you off", they just changed the entire schedule and moved you to the closest comparable time. You could always book a nearby off-property hotel worst case scenario or pay cash for the extra night, although in my experience, one-night waitlists are pretty successful (this is pre-covid, though, so no guarantees). In the past, Southwest has allowed 72 hours to make the one-time free change, but I'm not sure what it is now. [I have a flight in on the 7th and received the same email It doesn't say how long we have to make the change in the email so I'm not sure.]

I ran into the same problem with American moving my return flight forward by 5 hours on my last day. I ended up booking a cash room at CBR as a safety measure, pushing the return out by a day, and then waitlisting for some studios. I managed to get a 1BR for the night at SSR by stalking the site for a week but I'm still regularly checking for studios.

I have only had a waitlist match 1 time. I’ve snagged my exact waitlist off the RAT at least 5 times and grabbed other sought after rooms that I find near impossible to not have matched someone’s waitlist out there! I’m just hoping to be able to purchase 1 time use points online and they fix the bugs on the site, which I think most of us expect more bugs after lol.

I got the same email from Southwest last night too. Instead of my 7AM - 10AM non stop flight we got switched to a 6AM - 11:30AM with 1 stop . After being pretty irrationally mad last night I calmed down a bit today and told myself it is what it is. I didn't realize they changed schedules on other flights as well so at least we aren't the only ones I guess.

I'm in a similar situation with a flight change. I booked at All Star Movies for a single night, but I'm hoping to be able to book a studio instead.
