The July 17-20th shutdown is over. Everything is Great Now!

With everything that leaks out of Disney I'm fascinated that we have no real idea what to expect.
This is what makes me think it is primarily back-end updates that aren’t customer facing. Hoping whatever it is goes smoothly!

I do e-commerce for very large companies. A 4 day outage to launch a new platform is unheard of.

Who ever is running Disney IT needs to be fired.
It’s only been 49 hours as of about now, hopefully only be about 2.5 days... but yes! The people in charge of Disney IT should have been fired long ago!

I think Disney IT consists of elementary school age children of certain Disney employees. Kind of hard to fire them. Dinner time could get a little weird.

Still not back.

yea, I stopped at the site this morning and poked it with a stick. It didn’t move so got away from it. Call me strange, but no way am I going to be the first one logging into that baby. I’ve had my points eaten by that monster too many times and having to call MS to find them (and reload them after several days) makes me a little more cautious.

4 day planned or unplanned outage of an e-commerce system is unacceptable. No doubt there is a clock ticking of lost revenue per minute.

However DVC Member Services is not an e-commerce system. Lack of availability during a planned outage is an inconvenience and not something to be going round firing people for. Who knows this might even be to ensure future changes can be applied much easier.
 
Still down as of 8:01. Was hoping by normal booking hours we would be up and running. Wondering it MS will still be down at 9 also but I’m not sure I want to waste the time to find out just to set up waitlists
