Enjoy FL and Fort if you are there. First blizzard burial of trailer in yard starts tomorrow. This is Connecticut signing off for a few days me thinks...

Prepare for the worst and we'll hope for the best for you NE peeps. pixiedust:

Wishing I was down there right about now! I'll be living vicariously though you!

I might end up camping after all though... We have well water and forced hot air heat in the house. So, if the power goes down we have no way to keep the house warm. If the SHTF like it did a few years back before we had the class c, my plan is to boondock in our yard. At least then we'll have the propane heat and be able to cook.

It figures that my rig's generator has needed a new carburetor and I haven't gotten to fix it yet! So I'm heading out this morning to get two new golf car batteries for the coach. That will at least allow the heater and lights to work if we lose power.

Be safe everyone!

Well to all in the path of the storm, stay safe and warm. I am on the western fringe and at elevation, we are still looking at over a foot, on top of the 10 inches already on the ground. Trailers first big snow !!! Of course this does mean I get to do some snowshoeing this upcoming week, oh yes. :yay:

Yikes! Hope it's not as bad for y'all as they're predicting! Keep safe and warm!

We also have our own well, and even down south we've had ice storms that have cut the electricity, but we've used our generator for the well and a few 'set' outlets.

Hope you're not going to depend on your batteries for long though - even new, they don't last long, especially for a furnace fan. We learned the hard way several years ago - even the bare minimum necessities will suck the juice out very fast!

Will hope that the blizzard conditions will not be as bad as it looks now, but just stay safe and warm. :goodvibes

Yeah, I was nervous about that too. The two golf batteries we got have a total of 430 amp hours of storage. It should keep us for at least a while. If not, I still have the option to start the engine and charge the house batteries with that. I am soooo wishing I hadn't procrastinated replacing the carburetor on our Onan generator! :kickingselfinbutt:

What's a blizzard?

It I wasn't smack in the middle of it, my wise guy response would have been, "That uber tasty frozen treat with yummy stuff mixed in from Dairy Queen!"

However, because I am smack in the middle of it, my answer is, "A bunch of winter crap."

At least we have all of the camping gear to cook and see if we lose power! OK, and that little generator...but that makes us seem soft ;)

GOOD LUCK! Hope you have your groceries and a fireplace or something! I wish you could send us a little snow down here in TN! Not your blizzard but enough to make snow creme! Do you all do that in Connecticut!

Everybody in the path of the storm stay warm and safe. All the coming snow and ice will melt (someday).

Days are already getting longer - I hope Puxatawney (sp?) Phil predicts an early spring. :beach:

A whole lot of snow, so much people can't get out of their homes or drive in it.

That is correct, so all the flat landers visiting up north please stay inside where it is safe. :thumbsup2

Just kidding, In the northwest part of Vermont we are only expecting to get about 4 -6 inches.

Tomorrow the weathermen will be calling it The Blizzard of 2015, while everyone up north will be calling it Tuesday. :rotfl2:

A whole lot of snow, so much people can't get out of their homes or drive in it. May have high winds. Electricity will be out, schools closed etc., They will all be snowed in!

That sounds like Atlanta last year! we got two whole inches that caused Snowmaggedon 2014!

Southern children pray for snow so they can get out of school! LOL! Only takes an inch in the mountains! LOL! Sometimes all it takes to close the county schools is a little rain and cold temps to freeze the back roads. Schools in town aren't as lucky! LOL! Has to snow a couple of inches! LOL!

Should be alright. This morning on my way into work I seen a bunch of Canadian power trucks heading south. Not sure what states they were heading to though.

A good friend is a pharmacist in Boston. She was telling the stories of the panicked many coming in the last 2 days all concerned about the "blizzard". Her response? "People, it's January in New England. What were you expecting?"

At least they know what to do with it and things aren't shut down long. Not like 6 inches in Atlanta.
