The Josh D'Amaro slander needs to stop

In this whole ongoing search for Bob Iger's replacement as CEO of The Walt Disney Company, what really upsets me about it is that people on social media like to slander Josh D’Amaro, who is in charge of the parks division and is becoming the most likely pick, because they think he is like Bob Chapek, who was CEO from 2020 to 2022.

That is not true! D'Amaro is not like Chapek, because he is friendly to cast members, knows what park guests want, and has a good relationship with the other parts of Disney. Plus, D'Amaro has always been with the parks unit since he first came to Disney in 1998, starting out at Disneyland Park in California. Chapek started out at the home video unit, before moving to consumer products, and then to the parks, which made him terrible.

I am unfamiliar with a desire to malign D'Amaro. In fact, lately media reports indicate his stock is rising after the Kimmel situation...

A cynical person would say Iger red the tea leaves where Disney was going and headed for the hills.... A more malicious person might suggest Iger set Chapek up to fail and just wanted to avoid being blamed for some major issues... Who knows...

Either way, D'Amaro, despite holding the same title as Chapek is a very different person. He will still need to explain why he is qualified to lead a major film company - as that industry is quite dependent on relationships/connections in a way I do not imagine Disney Parks would be...

I thought he would be like Bob Chapek when he briefly took over Disney, but i was wrong about him the more i researched. I'm sorry about that.

I suspect some part of this is just Disney fans being unhappy with changes to WDW under D’Amaro.

This is the world we live in today. People feel embolden behind an anonymous post. Just look at some of the vile posts on Charlie Kirk, whether you agree with him or not should there not be some grace for a man who was murdered? Our politicians on both sides take way too many unfounded hits -- if you try to point out the inaccuraties there are those who will scream that there freedom of speech is being violated. In other words, it is a no win situation.
