The Jonas Brothers do NOT deserve a Grammy.

In "Tonight", they stole a melody from Panic At The Disco.

Listen in this song, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTx_N_9lgc4, from 2:18-2:27.

...Got that? Good.

Now listen to the intro for this song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10YQiIft3c4&feature=related

See the resemblance? Plagiarism does NOT deserve a Grammy.

What also does not make sense is saying that they are plagiarising and dont deserve a grammy yet you have a picture of Kevin Jonas as your signature?? wouldn't u want them to win if you like him?

Yes, they deliberately went out and stole that. Get the pitchforks. Oh no something sounds slightly similar to another song now they dont deserve an award.
dude, it barely sounds the same.
The JB one is more uptempo IMO.
There are so many songs that sound similar.

And if theres any reason they 'dont deserve a Grammy' is because their nominated for Breakout Artist and they've been around since 2005.
But can you really say they dont deserve it ? They've been working their butts off for the past years. From CD's to Movies, the book, quite a few tours, etc. You can not like them, but you cant say they havent worked hard.

They've made money, so dont you think if they were doing this for the money they would stop now ?

ITA.

I think that Lady Antebellum should win it. Charles, Hilary, and Dave > Kevin, Nick, and The Enemy.

Just because Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas broke up (not pointing fingers or anything) doesn't mean Joe and the boys get the automatic boo-who.

I dont know if the actually seem like they care about their fans and really enjoy their music was aimed at the Jonas Brothers, but if it was, how can you say they dont care about their fans ? Im not going to argue this with you, cause that would be silly and clearly your not a fan so you really wouldnt understand how much they truly care about their fans and they really love performing and playing/making music. And if the to get annoyingly rich and sell out. was also directed at them as well, seriously, how would you know? Like I said before you clearly not a fan. They've been doing this for a long time. I dont feel like going into specifics of how much they love what they do, because it wouldnt matter much to you.

Its one thing to not like their music or them (or any other artist) but making assumptions that they dont care or are just in this for the money because you dont like them or their music is a little silly.

I freakin' love you.

If you were a fan, you would know how much dedication they put into making every performance special. And, just for your information, the two songs have a similar beat, but so what? There's only so many songs out there in the world that have an original beat, God forbid they have a same chord.

The awards aren't meaningless because obviously people would want them to get the award. And TBH I think paramore are actually really talented...you don't see the Jonas Brothers writing a song for Twilight do you?

Lol. First, a female vocalist fits better with the theme. Second, it's marketing - Paramore appeal to the target audience of Twilight. So do the Jonas Brothers, but they're under contract from Disney and likely wouldn't do a song for a dark PG-13 vampire movie.

I didn't see the resemblence at all...
And I think that even if I did see it...9 seconds of something that sounds similar shouldn't disqualify them for a grammy.
They've done incredibly well and have a great career going for them. A lot of fans and some people really love their work.
If they win, so be it, I congratulate them.

Just stating, I for one don't like their music, but I don't think they shouldn't win it just because I don't like the music. Obviously there are enough people who do like it or they wouldn't be so big.
The only thing I disagree with is them being a "New Artist".

Why thank you. :P

::yes::

me either! i love the jobros and they deserve all the awards that they have! yall r just hatin!

Alright, seriously. I don't know you, so I'm just judging you from the comment you just made...

But people like you are the reason the Jonas Brothers and their fans in general get such a bad rap.
Bad spellers so motivated by their hormonal "love" that they don't think before they speak/write so as to make sure that what comes out is a) intelligible and b)intelligent, of which it generally is neither.

Grow up, listen to some music, and then come back and enjoy the Jonas Brothers for what they are - musicians. If you even like them by then.

Ok I admit, I am not a fan, and I agree with you. I jumped to far to many conclusions. I preach to people day in and day out about how they need to be more open minded toward music and like them souley for the fact that THEY like it and I essentially made a fool of myself for being so closed minded toward them. Yes I am not a fan, but that does not give me the right to beat on them and make untrue assumptions. So I do apologize it was both stupid and rude of me. I just get the stereotype that anything Disney touches(That is not animation) turns to trash.

...What kind of stereotype is that? Last time I checked, Home On The Range was crap, and so was Chicken Little, mostly, and so have been alot of recent Disney animated films.

Disney's recent live-action offerings have been on the whole phenomenal, and their television station is one of the highest-rated on the air.

And last I heard, the theme parks are still doing marvelously.

So I have no clue where you're coming from.

I mean, I hate the jonas brothers.
I love p@td.

but seriously, I think it was just coincidence...

Its cool. :)

I don't really understand why you guys are fighting so much. If you don't like them, don't talk about them. It would seem that if they disgusted you that much then you would just try to avoid any subject about them, instead you guys are making an entire thread dissing them. They have worked just as hard, if not harder, than any band out there. Whether you like their music or not, they are nominated for the award, and you can't change it.

Shelly, dear, I've loved Lady Antebellum since their debut. Their entire debut album is good, especially with tracks like Long Gone and I Run To You. It is definitely no secret that I dislike the JBs. The main reason is not because of Joe's break up with Taylor. I, on the whole, just dislike Nick's singing voice, it sounds whiny in my opinion.

So, please, learn everyone's side of the story before you make your assumptions. Don't listen to what the first impressions tell you. I don't worship the ground Taylor walks on. I don't hate every single thing that the JBs have released. When you Look me in the Eyes wasn't half bad.

If you haven't heard Lady Antebellum's debut album, I suggest giving it a listen. =)

Nicely stated, Billy =]

Lenka or Yael Naim definitley deserve that award more than JB.

I'm not making assumptions. I'm just saying that "The Enemy" is a big clue that it had SOMETHING to do with the breakup.

*little rip in heart at Nick's singing voice comment*

Yes, I know you don't worship the ground she walks on. I'd like to say the same about the Jonas Brothers, but the truth is I love them too much to not want to worship the ground they walk on. Hence why we have different stands in this.

I've never even heard of Lady Antebellum. Maybe I'll YouTube it.

If you ever get broken up with over the phone, you'd understand. Trust me.

Lady Antebellum is possibly one of the best new country groups to emerge in recent years. Well worth the Youtubing.

my first impression of you is that you have an unhealthily single-minded fancy for country music

Not so much these days. A year ago, I would have told you sure thing. But this year, I have broadened my taste in music. Now, I listen to pop more than country.
