Better "new" bands?
I actually can't think of any new artists that made it big this year who are better than the Jonas Brothers.

Out of the five nominees for Best New Artist, I think Lady Antebellum and Adele have a better chance at winning than the Jonas Brothers. I think they will probably have longer careers. The Grammys have little to nothing to do with public popularity, it has to do with artistic ability and uniqueness. That's a big reason Amy Winehouse nearly cleaned the floor at the Grammys this year...her music was fresh, new, and unique (I don't care for it) and the academy who votes on the Grammys seem to love that.

Well, new artist really has to do with the year that the artist gained huge significance so I think that this year would be the year they'd be nominated. But, I agree they do not deserve the Grammy.

Paramore were nominated last year for Best New Artist. Amy Winehouse won that award.

Response to A) Yes that is true, but atleast paramore is there for the music, not to get annoyingly rich and sell out. Yeah every band is trying to make money, but Paramore is one of the few bands that actually seem like they care about thier fans and really enjoy thier music(Which Is more than I can say for a lot of bands). Comparing them to the Jonas Brothers is (in my eyes) a spit to the face.

The awards aren't meaningless because obviously people would want them to get the award. And TBH I think paramore are actually really talented...you don't see the Jonas Brothers writing a song for Twilight do you?

But honestly, a lot of people have moved from JB obsessions to Twilight. Then once Twilight burns out, they'll both be done

I dont know if the actually seem like they care about their fans and really enjoy their music was aimed at the Jonas Brothers, but if it was, how can you say they dont care about their fans ? Im not going to argue this with you, cause that would be silly and clearly your not a fan so you really wouldnt understand how much they truly care about their fans and they really love performing and playing/making music. And if the to get annoyingly rich and sell out. was also directed at them as well, seriously, how would you know? Like I said before you clearly not a fan. They've been doing this for a long time. I dont feel like going into specifics of how much they love what they do, because it wouldnt matter much to you.

The songs dont sound alike at all and its in the music business all the time. Like the song by Rihanna SOS.... that was not an original she took the beat from the song Tainted Love by Soft Cell look it up on youtube....
