The Irish are going to Disneyland.

I'm in!

We are going on our first family trip soon, and I've scoured these boards for suggestions. Our trip includes DLR time and LA time, staying at Paradise Pier and in a hotel in LA (flying into LAX). We have a big-time shopper with us, so I am thinking the Farmer's Market and the Grove (next to it) will be on our itinerary.

During my research, I learned that there are one day bus tours from Anaheim to LA that might work for you. In the end, we opted for a split hotel stay because I didn't want to spend a lot of back and forth time.

If you are interested, my PTR/TR is a link in my signature.

Welcome. Will go join in we can learn together :goodvibes

Joining up! I used to live in England and went back this summer with the whole family but never made it to Ireland. Maybe someday. Do you guys have a plan for the jet lag coming over? Is the Disney part of your trip right after you get here or do you have a day or two to adjust? That is way cool that you are staying at the Castle Inn and will be in walking distance.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: your booked. That is awesome.

It looks like a nice hotel.

Andy says it is an 8 hour flight from here to Dublin when he comes in July.

Joining up!
Welcome :flower3:

Ireland is pretty similar to England it's nice here though just very far from Disney :rotfl:

It never really affects us going over for some reason. I think I live by American time anyway usually up late every night and up late in the day then if i'm not working so if I was in America I'd prob be sleeping at normal times. Coming home it usually affects us because it's an over night flight normally but we tend to just sleep all the day we get home and are fine after that

Disney is the main part. We will do other things like the outlets and Hollywood tour and stuff but first day is going to be Disney. Probably DCA because looking at the rides and that there's probably less in that park that we will want to go on.

I know. I think Castle Inn looks cool and then don't have to wait around for shuttle buses either :)

I know so excited.. :cool1: like everything that happened this week don't care because I'm going to Disney :cheer2:

Yeah it's a really really long flight. Is his flight over night? Our flights back to Ireland tend to be over night and it makes you soooooooo tired. He'll prob need a day to recover when he gets here. Did he hear as well Mr. Brooks has put on another 3 concerts in Croke Park now because the first one sold so quick.

That is cool that it doesn't affect you much coming over. When we came back from our trip to England I was wiped out for 3 days pretty much. It was really hard to adjust back to a normal sleeping pattern. We had been there for three weeks and from the time we left the place we were staying at to getting home was 23 and a half hours of travel. We got home late at night and I thought everyone would be exhausted and go to sleep but it didn't really happen that way though we were exhausted.:rotfl:

It's prob the fact I live by american time most of the time anyway. I dunno :confused3

Prob the shows like Aladdin.. rides like Little Mermaid.. We're very much small world type of rides. Peter Pan is about as thrill as we go like :rotfl:

One thing we did on our last trip was we visited every photopass photographer that we saw. It made for some very fun pictures. I have a very adventurous daughter and a willingness to pose the way the photographers suggest. The results were a lot of great pictures!

I look forward to your plans as you go along. Another ride that might make your list is the Monsters Inc ride. That is a fun one and one of my favorites.

I will prob pre purchase photopass. I did that for WDW last time and told Momma that every photographer we saw we had to let them take our pictures because I had already paid :goodvibes

Will definately do Monsters Inc. Anything that doesn't go fast or around in loops is good for me :goodvibes

That's a good idea. We ended up with nearly 650 photos.

That's the wonderful thing about Disney. There is something for everyone. One thing that was a do not miss for us was Mickey's Magical Map. It was a fun show.

I was going to suggest Monsters Inc but kaoden93 beat me to it. :thumbsup2 The two 3D shows are fun as well. Are you going to try Toy Story Midway Mania? The Animation building is a really cool place to explore and you can take a mini drawing class and draw a character, see the Toy Story zoetrope, ect. It's kind of a hidden gem in plain sight. I think it gets skipped over because it isn't a ride.

We prob will do all that :) I dunno bout Toystory Mania yet will see what the wait time is :goodvibes

How about my favorite Soarin'? I love that ride and following it up with a lunch of the wonderful nachos at White Water Snacks. Yummy.

I am going to DL in 15 days!!!! It's my first trip and I am combining it with business but I can't wait.
So how is your planning coming along.

We've never actually done Soarin even in WDW. Maybe we'll try it. I dunno yet.

Oh cool you may do a trip report on it so I can study and learn lol! I actually can't stop looking up stuff about the parks and food pictures and everything else :rotfl2:

Have you looked at the menus on allears.net ? I love being able to look at the menus and have an idea of where and what I want to eat. Of course I never stick to my original plans. :)

I was looking at the pictures of the food on the thread on this! :goodvibes

I think the only place we'll book is Storytellers because Koda is there and I need to see him :) Other than that we'll prob just go with whatever is nearby when we feel like eating.. I know looking at pictures though that straight away Momma will want Flo's because they have "proper" food
