Have any of you DISers ever stayed there? DH and I decided to go away for a few days with the kiddos and I've always wanted to stay there. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and I have fond memories of hanging out on the grounds on a beautiful summer's day having cocktails with my friends before I was married. It's very expensive, however, and was just wondering if anyone has actually stayed there.

Is this the place you're talking about?

If so, then I do know someone who has stayed there this past Feb. My mother and her boyfriend spent a weekend there and loved it. They were raving about the room, food, atmosphere and staff. They had such a great time and plan on going there again.

We may stay there in October, but I think we are leaning more towards The Cliffside Inn , which looks really nice too. Not as fancy but wonderful suites!

DH and I are dying to stay at the Cliffside Inn. That is my type of place!! Have you seen some of those bathrooms!!!??? I do believe they don't allow children. Or only allow older kids. That's fine by me because I need alittle alone time with DH;) I don't think this place will work for the OP.

It is lovely, but make absolutely sure you don't stay in any of their accomodations outside the main building. DH and I did, and it was a major-league dump -- way below a one star hotel.

Desnik - We just booked the Cliffside and I am sooo excited. Its very pricey, but for two nights, we will swing it! We booked the garden suite which the bathroom is 35 feet w/ a double jacuzzi & fireplace! We can't wait!

Tarheel - Were you talking about Cliffside or The Castlehill Inn?
I just pm'd you :)

I was talking about the Inn at Castlehill. It's been many years, but I would still be very wary of any room outside the main house there. It was awful and prepaid. As much as we liked the grounds, we were very happy to leave.

My mother and her BF stood in the main house. They said it was so beautiful. They didn't say if they saw the outer buildings. I do believe that that is the only place at the Caslehill Inn that you can stay with children. I think they call them beach cottages.
Sorry you had a bad time there, hopefully they have refurbished them!!!
JKMastalski The Garden Suite is the one that the bathroom has a heated floor!!! It is pricey but, like you said for 2 nights, so worth it! Oh you lucky thing! Please you have to post about your stay when you return!!!

Oops! I actually meant to write without the kiddos, so yes this would work for us as well. Do they have a website? I'll go check it out.

As far as the outer rooms at the Inn @ Castle Hill, from what I've read, they've totally refurbished them although we wouldn't be staying in those anyway.
