The Ingredients for Pixie Dust, a June 2010 TR - 10/2 DIsney Halloween PTR started!

So after a wonderful dinner at California Grill, it was great fun to just walk out the lobby of the resort and walk over to the Magic Kingdom! And that is exatly what we did!

Here are a few photos I took walking back to our room -- we all changed shoes...

It was parade time when we got there, so we enjoyed walking along side of it, but had our sights set on the Laugh Floor and a good spot to see the fireworks! Here are a couple shots as we waited to go into the Laugh Floor... my kids LOVE this attraction... we texted a joke, but it didn't get selected. Oh well, it was still fun to listen. I think as the evening wears on, the CMs have more and more fun with their script. Rather, I think they take more liberty with the time, because there are not gobs of people waiting to fill the auditorium for the next show. Every time we have been to the Laugh floor in the evening, we really get some extra laughs in...

Once out, we had about five minutes before Nightastic! We positioned ourselves on the bridge from Tomorrowland. the view was good, not perfect, but much better than out first MK night, and it wasn't terribly crowded... it was a good spot! And then the show began!!!!

FIREWORKS!

Now I am not an expert photographer. I just took these firework photos as best I could. I think I managed to get some good ones! :thumbsup2 Later, on our last MK night, I got more in, and, our last night in Disney I took more from the Narcoossee's dock....

After that fabulous firework display we went over to Fantasyland, and grabbed ice cream and a rootbeer float. We didn't want to walk out just yet, with the crush of people, and the tables outside in Fantasyland gave us a good excuse to sit and enjoy our treats and the evening ... :p We then headed out and back to BLT. We had changed our plans to go to AK in the morning (those FPs were burning a hole in our pockets!! And we also had to pack and check out, as well -- as we were OFF to THE BEACH CLUB!!!! When we got to the room, I got the boys in bed, and I did some packing. DH took a few things to the car, to make it easier in the morning, then we both hopped into bed with some television before we fell asleep!

DAY FIVE RECAP

1. Animal Kingdom day with a quick jump to the Magic Kingdom for fireworks that evening.

2. Lunch was OOP with our TIW card, the boys were on the DDP at Yak and Yeti, with some snack credits (jalepeno pretzels, slushies, and ice cream) thrown in for good measure! Dinner DDP/OOP at California Grill!

HIGHLIGHTS
getting the FPs for the Animal Kingdom rides that were closed... my Lost on Safari! Kali River and Nemo! GOING to California Grill and watching the sun set!!! Running over to the MK because we could!

CHALLENGES
Facing a hot day when the rides were not cooperating! Untangling kite tails!!!! Deciding what to have for dinner at California Grill!!!

Oh FUN! Blue Zoo was my date night choice but now that the in-laws are only with us for 5 of the Disney nights...a date night seemed rude. Jiko is WAY up there too for me, for a date night.

We enjoyed BOTH of these choices, they are really good... the drink menu at the Blue Zoo.. OMG. That is all I am going to say.... OMG. Burnt orange something... cant remember exact name .... seriously out of control good. Carmelized burnt orange on the glass with sugar... like a creamsicle. AMAZING....... AND not sticky sweet. Blue Zoo is so COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL inside!!!

Which Universal Property are you looking at? We may pool hop at all 3 lol....supposedly you can.

If it was just Jeff and I, we'd probably go for Portofino.

Hopefully the crowds will be better when you go, the reports are scary!

I don't know what to expect. But we are going to give it a shot. I am not sure which property he is looking at. Portofino looks lovely, but it is expensive!!

That black one seems like a perfect travel dress :thumbsup2

I think so, too!

So excited for you to get to go again! :dance3:

I know! I am pleasantly surprised that I will be there during the holiday season again!!! Heck, I am more than surprised!! I am thrilled! I am now going to work on the Christmas Party... :rolleyes1

How exciting. Where will the boys be? With grandparents..or do they get to tag along?

My MIL will stay at our house that week, take them to school... WHAT the raw end of the deal, I know!!!! :rotfl:

YAY for another trip and at Christmas time, that is fantastic!! I can't wait to hear your scouting report from "the other park."!!!!

It was a surprise, but I am thrilled! Just right after Thanksgiving really -- so definitely a kick off to the Holiday festivities! I am looking forward to it, too!

Yay for another Disney trip!!
I  conferences/workshops in Florida ;)
I have to order MVMCP tickets too.

I agree! Great when it works out, right??!! :thumbsup2

Great news! Somehow I knew you'd squeeze some Disney in there!:goodvibes
I look forward to your "other park" review. I think DH and DS will go there next summer.

Well I am glad you thought that! I wasn't so sure!!!! If it had only been the cruises and Vero Beach, that would have been fine, but it was a nice surprise!!!

I love the pics of your boys with their kites outside the resort..they turned out so good.

Your dinner at Cali grill sounds really good and i can't wait to hear about the MK

Thanks! It was a fun evening!!! I liked being on the ground floor there at BLT, it was relaxing....

Love the fireworks photos!
Snacks in the MK while the crowds leave sounds like the perfect ending to the evening. Isn't it great to just walk to the MK?
Can't wait for the BCV portion of the tr!

GORGEOUS fireworks photos!!!

I crack up everytime I see the inhuman resources sign. :rotfl:

Can't wait until "we" arrive home at the Beach Club!! :yay:

How great to be able to pop into MK for the fireworks! :thumbsup2

I'm so excited to stay at Boardwalk this fall & be able to walk to Epcot & DHS!! :cool1:

I think you did fab on the fireworks pics.

Another disney christmas vacation in the works huh. What kind of persuasion do you use on your dh cause obviously I need some help from a master. Notice I don't have a ticker anymore. :guilty:

Congrats on the bonus trip!! Have you talked DH into new APs yet? :rolleyes1

Love your fireworks pictures!!! :cloud9:

Your Wishes photos are fantastic! Did you use a tripod? If not, you did great in capturing those photos just by holding your camera :thumbsup2

hey!

I'm going to have to come back and read the update but wanted to let you know Athleta just marked down a bunch of things. Both items I'd just ordered were marked down and I was able to get a $40 price adjustment on my order! So you may want to see if your dress was marked down as well.

:goodvibes

OOOH...time to move to Beach Club, can't wait to see the pictures there!!!

Very nice fireworks pics! I loved your angle from the bridge and I'm usually a directly in front of the castle kind of girl....

You got some great shots! Looks like a much better spot than where we were over towards CP.

It was a great ending! I love a good rootbeer float! The boys enjoyed their cones! We were imagining what the new part of Fantasy land is going to look like!

IT was so nice to walk, yes! We often would park at the Contemporary and walk to the MK, but we still had to get into the car. This way it was just right inside!

GORGEOUS fireworks photos!!!

I crack up everytime I see the inhuman resources sign. :rotfl:

Can't wait until "we" arrive home at the Beach Club!! :yay:

That gets me everytime, too!

Well WE will be there tonight! :thumbsup2

It is definitely one of the highlights, I agree!!

Well it isn't a Christmas vacation, per se. It only recently dawned on me that the holiday season would be in full swing!! We are NOT going into the parks. We are buying tickets to Universal this time, just the two of us... I hope to get a chance to go to the MVMCP, but I am not sure it will work out timewise... we'll see. But for the rate we can get, it was reasonable to stay at Disney, and of course the resorts are nice... and since the airfare is free, we are going to add a few days fun to the start of the business trip.

I don't know how I manage to get him to agree... I think he went so many times last year because we had the passes and we had been able to get some really really good deals with points, and discounts. And he liked that we were getting the most out of the passes, etc... talk about fuzzy Disney Math!!! But this coming year, we wont be going to Orlando as a family. Probably wait until the new Fantasyland opens. We have Disneyland for two days and then we have two cruises and Vero beach... that is plenty of Disney fun for now... I think...

Congrats on the bonus trip!! Have you talked DH into new APs yet? :rolleyes1

Love your fireworks pictures!!! :cloud9:

No no! I don't see the APs in our future! Not this year. All our vacations are in place... but if we have another snow storm... :rolleyes1

Thanks on the pics! I tried! :thumbsup2

Your Wishes photos are fantastic! Did you use a tripod? If not, you did great in capturing those photos just by holding your camera :thumbsup2

Thanks! No I held my camera -- it has some sort of "anti shake" feature, that helps to steady the camera when you are shooting...

OOOH...time to move to Beach Club, can't wait to see the pictures there!!!

Thanks!!! I took pictures a few more nights, of Illuminations and of Nightastic!

Time to move, yes! I ended up with a lot more pool pics there!

Very nice fireworks pics! I loved your angle from the bridge and I'm usually a directly in front of the castle kind of girl....

Thank you! Oh I agree, I am too! I have the directly in front of the castle shots too! Later in the week!!

You got some great shots! Looks like a much better spot than where we were over towards CP.

I think it depends on where you stand, but definitely the wagon wheel is a great location and mainstreet proper if you want the best view!

Great update! What a fun afternoon and evening, well deserved after your hot and semi dissapointing morning! I think you got some great fireworks shots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Portofino is pricey! Heck they all are. I'd have been happy at RPH and have heard good things about it, rooms are a little small but that's ok.

OH you are making me wish I had a date night! Maybe we will sneak away for a date lunch...or drink! :rotfl:
