The Incredible Family's First Trip to WDW update 7/6 photopass pictures

Great update! It was the same for us at Conservation Station and the characters...there was nobody in there so we just walked up. That volcano looks really good...we ate at the Rainforest Cafe at DTD but didn't get one. That's awesome you were able to get it for free!

It was a great place to meet characters I will have to remember next time to take the autograph books with us. The volcano was really good, we probably wouldn't have ordered it if we hadn't had the coupon though, it was pretty spendy for what it was.

Wow! Free dessert always tastes better. What was in the volcano?

Wow! Great updates! The volcano looks yummy!! It seems like you got a lot done and the waits were not horrendous! That's great!! Looking forward to more!

Thanks, we did get a lot done and wait times weren't bad at all. I've been gone on Violet's 5 day 5th grade field trip so I am hoping to get the next update done tomorrow.

May 3 MK/Epcot
We got up had breakfast in our room and headed of to MK. We parked and took the ferry across and got to the gate at 9:01. After walking in we see Chip and Dale and almost no line so of course we get in. They were fun and JackJack loved them.

IMG_2682.jpg

IMG_2683.jpg

Our main goal of the day was to do the things we missed the first day so our first stop was the jungle cruise, no wait, we just got right on. Dash got to steer the boat and got a boat license.
IMG_2685.jpg

She was so excited but Violet kept trying to burst her bubble by telling her the boat was on a track and she didn't do anything. Next we rode Aladdin's Carpet ride and then we explored the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse. It was getting close to 10 so I took the girls over to get in line to meet Ariel. I told dh we would meet Ariel and then go to Toontown to meet the princesses so we would meet him in Toontown. He stayed with Jackjack at the treehouse for a little while longer and we headed off to Ariel's grotto. On the way there we ran into the Fairy Godmother with no line so of course we had to meet her.
IMG_2688.jpg

We got there about 9:50, it was supposed to open at 10. Even being there early we didn't meet her until 10:30.
IMG_2691.jpg

IMG_2693.jpg

Since it took so long to meet her we rushed over to Toontown to get in line to meet the princesses. The sign said 30 minutes, but I think it was more like 20. The first princess we met was Princess Aurora. JackJack has a friend that loves her so we had gotten a postcard for her to sign. She also kissed it which his little friend loved.
IMG_2700.jpg

Next was Cinderlla
IMG_2703.jpg

IMG_2704.jpg

Then Belle
IMG_2708.jpg

There was a family in front of us the grandpa got his picture taken with each princess, it was pretty cute.
When we left here I saw the wait to meet the other characters was 15 min so I was going to go find dh and bring Jackjack back in to meet the characters. We went out to the play area, no dh, we looked at Donald's boat, no dh, we looked at goofy's barnstormer, no dh. From what we could tell he wasn't in Toontown anywhere. So, we went and waited in front of the judge's tent. Eventually he came down the sidewalk and he wasn't looking very happy. Since it took so long he thought something had happened and he was even talking to castmembers to find out where we were. I really didn't understand why he was so upset, I told him exactly where we would be. :confused3 He thought I should have found him after we were done with Ariel but I was just trying to get done as quickly as possible. Oh well, nothing I could do about it now. While we were on on princess mission dh took jackjack on goofy's barnstormer and he had a great time, they even gave him a little card that said first roller coaster. He was asleep now so we skipped the characters and went to the tea cups. The girls had been wanting to do this so off they went, this is one ride dh and I just don't do. They only had to wait for 1 or 2 cycles and it was there turn. Just before they got on the mad hatter and alice got on, they got a tea cup right next to them. They were very entertaining to watch.
IMG_2710.jpg

IMG_2713.jpg

IMG_2716.jpg

Next we headed to tomorrowland to see the Monsters, inc laughing floor. It was entertaining, the girls really liked it. We then went on TTA, I could have ridden this a few more times, it was a nice break and neat to see behind the rides. Now we only had one more thing to do, go get a dole float of course.:woohoo: On the walk over I had to snap this picture.
IMG_2720.jpg

I thought it looked sweet and I knew it wouldn't be long before the wouldn't want to walk with Papa like this anymore. It made me a little sad too, to see how fast they were growing up.
We made it to adventureland and we came upon Timon and Rafiki. I got in line with the kids and dh went to get our dole floats.
IMG_2724.jpg

The dole floats are wonderful, I wish you could get them in the other parks too, I would eat these everyday. He also got some chocolate softserve, the kids liked that better. We decided to ride the train around the park since we hadn't done that and Jackjack loves trains. We got on at Main street and rode around the park. Then we left MK and went to ride the monorail back to TTC. DH asked if we could sit in the front (thanks to the dis) and we just had to wait for one monorail and it was our turn, they only let 4 people in the front so I went in the first car with the stroller. The kids thought it was pretty fun, dh said the driver didn't seem to be that interested in having them in there though.
IMG_2731.jpg

We got off at the TTC and then got on the monorail to Epcot, the girls wanted to ride in front again, but it looked pretty crowded so we decided to just ride.

We got to Epcot and dh headed to soarin to get fastpasses and I took the kids to clubcool to sample some of the flavors we liked. JackJack was asleep last time so he didn't have any. He liked the ones I gave him, I think the watermelon one and apple one, Dash wanted to give him Beverly but I wouldn't let her.
IMG_2735.jpg

IMG_2738.jpg

After DH met up with us we headed to the world showcase and started with Mexico. We rode the boat ride, did the kidcot and of course tried on some hats.
IMG_2743.jpg

IMG_2745.jpg

IMG_2746.jpg

Next up was Norway. DH has some Norwegian heritage so he was excited and wanted his picture with the viking ship.
IMG_2750.jpg

Then we rode maelstrom and watched the little video. JackJack loved all these boat rides. Here is a pictures of the girls and dh entertaining themselves in line.
IMG_2755.jpg

Now it was finally time for what I had been waiting for for months. School bread! I got that, Dash got a cookie, violet the cloudberry horn, and dh the pototoe pancake things.
IMG_2752.jpg

IMG_2753.jpg

IMG_2754.jpg

The school breat was wonderful, in fact I wish I had bought a second one to take with me to eat later. Dash liked the cookie, I didn't get a chance to taste it. Violet was disappointed in hers because she thought there were berries in it and there weren't , I thought it tasted good though. DH liked what he got too (I can't remember the name right now) We went into the shop and again had to try some hats.
IMG_2756.jpg

IMG_2757.jpg

IMG_2758.jpg

IMG_2759.jpg

IMG_2761.jpg

IMG_2762.jpg

JackJack found the swords and shields and had a fun time playing with them.
IMG_2764.jpg

I bought a couple candy bars here, I tried the troika and bought a different kind to give my mom. I had remembering hearing the name troika on the disboards, but I don't remember what was said. I didn't like it that much, it was kind of weird. It had a jelly layer in it that wasn't my favorite. I don't remember what the other one was called but some other people in the store talked about how much they liked it so I hope it is good, I havne't given it to my mom yet.
Next was China and some more hat pictures
IMG_2777.jpg

IMG_2778.jpg

IMG_2779.jpg

Violet bought a Chinese shirt and pant set. It is really pretty, I didn't take a picture of it though. She has wanted a chinese outfit for a long time so she was very excited to find this. We also watched the Chinese acrobats, they are really amazing!
We kept going and went through Germany, Italy and the U.S. We still hadn't met Jasmine yet so we decided to keep going around and see if she was in morocco. On the way through Japan we had to get some more kaki-gori. We got to Morocco and only Aladdin and the Genie were there. We asked about Jasmine but they said she wouldn't be out today. We were disappointed because that was all we had left to do in Epcot.
IMG_2787.jpg

It was around 5pm now and our fastpass time for soarin was after 8pm so we gave our fastpasses to some people that were coming into the park. They seemed pretty happy.
I took a few pictures as we were leaving world showcase.
IMG_2790.jpg

IMG_2791.jpg

We left and went back to our room and then to Red Lobster for dinner.
I loved Epcot and would have loved to spend more time here, but the kids seemed bored with looking at a lot of the stuff. DH and I started talking about coming back by our selves.:woohoo:
Next up: I've got to write that one down

Great update...and pictures!

IMG_2791.jpg

Did you notice the hidden Mickey that the trees make in the reflection in the lake? It's sorta in the middle of the picture.

Seems like you and DH had a hard time meeting back up in the parks. I would have been really upset with all that lost time and waiting.

It looks like you guys had a great day. I think Ariel tends to open earlier than her posted time. We saw her at 9:00 this past April. It said 10:00 on the time sheet though...

I didn't notice the hidden mickey's until you pointed them out. Yes, the meeting up thing got frustrating. The sad thing is I made sure we both brought our cell phones so we wouldn't have that problem. But neither of us are big cell phone users so we didn't think about it. DH had his on him, but it wasn't on and mine was in JackJack's backpack that was in the stroller, so if dh had the stroller he had both cell phones. We will definately take care of that next time.

Ariel did not open early when we were there, in fact I think she opened a little late, I had Dash go and check while we were waiting.

Fantastic new installments! You really packed a lot into one day! It sounds as if the parks were not too crowded, what a plus! You pictures are great as usual!!
Looking forward to more!!

Enjoyed the last couple of installments. Sounds like you guys have had a great vacation so far. Looking forward to more.

The parks really weren't too crowded, I did think that they were little more crowded on that Saturday than they had been when we were at them earlier in the week though.

Thanks, hopefully I will have the next chapter up tomorrow.

May 4: Typhoon lagoon
We got up and had breakfast in our room again, another day of rice krispies. Then off to Typhoon lagoon. We got there at 8:45:woohoo: Once they opened it DH and Violet went off to Crushen Gusher and Humonga Kowabunga. I took Dash and JackJack to Katchakidee Creek which is the back of the park. It was quite the walk carrying jackjack and all our stuff. :faint: I got there and got us some great chairs under one of the covered areas and dropped our stuff. Then JackJack and Dash went to play. Once dh got back I went to buy a sticker for my cup and then we went to ride Gangplank falls. We got to where we get the raft and they told us only 4 people could ride at a time even if one was little like JackJack. So dh was just going to carry the raft up for us but when we got to the top the person working up there let us all ride. This ride was a little disappointing after the family raft ride at Blizzard Beach. We got to the bottom and the people working there were not happy with us. We told them that the guy at the top told us we could go and she said to us (mostly to dh, they saw him as the troublemaker) "now you are going to make us have to call up there and tell them that no more than 4 peopl can go at a time, if there are too many people the raft could flip over" Now I have a hard time with this rule because JackJack weighed 25lbs so how can us 5 going cause a problem when we would weigh less than 4 adults going.:confused3 Oh well, it wasn't that fun and we didn't plan to do it again anyway. Dh decided to take the girls to Mayday falls and keelhaul falls. I took JackJack back to the kid area and he played in the sand for awhile.

of50590396.jpg

I love pictures of toes in the sand. :goodvibes
After the sand he went to the slide and spent a ton of time here. While I was watching him on the slide I noticed a lady come and move one of our chairs to make room for themselves. I thought this was an interesting strategy, show up at 12 and just move other people's stuff to make room for yourself:confused3 DH got back and I mentioned it to him and he went up to take a look and then the lady moved. While watching jackjack I took a few pictures of the park.

I went up to put my cup down and noticed that someone had brought their baby with a little bed thing to put them in and the baby was asleep in there and no one was around. I looked out in the little kid area and didn't notice anyone even looking up that way to keep on eye on it. :confused3 This was turning out to be a very interesting day. We decided to head to Castaway Creek. It was pretty crowded in there and it took a bit to find a raft. Jackjack decided he wanted to ride with me and DH tried to ride on one of the little rafts, but it kept flipping over, I wish I had gotten a picture of that.:rotfl: But, he did find a big one eventually.
calebmama.jpg

papahaley.jpg

We came back and someone was sitting with the baby now, thank goodness. DH went to get us some lunch, he brought me mini doughnuts, he shared a hamburger and french fries with Violet, Dash and JackJack and Dash also had some chips. I went to back to get some white chocolate dipping sauce for the doughnuts. They were delicious but I ate way too many and didn't feel to good after that. :worried: DH wanted me to go on Crushn Gusher with him so we all went over there and the girls played with JackJack in the pool while dh and I went on the ride. It was a short line thankfully, the ride was pretty fun, but I thought I was going to fly off of it at one point. I was trying so hard to keep my hiney from dragging that when we went over one of the bumps I caught some air. We got the kids and then decided to try Shark Reef. Dash didn't want to do it so DH was going to take Violet while we waited. Then Dash decided she did want to do it, so I sat and watched. I finally saw dh and Violet but no Dash, so I figured she changed her mind again. They had barely started swimming when I noticed Violet being helped across by one of the lifeguards. Apparantly the cold water, snorkel and sharks freaked her out. We decided to go back for a rest, JackJack was seeming sleepy. I was sitting in my chair with him and there was a group of people near us that had 2 little kids in pullups, not swim diapers and as we are sitting there, one of the pullups explodes and there are those gel granules everywhere. The mom just puts another pullup on and leaves the stuff all over the ground. :confused3
DH had taken the girls to go on the mayday and keelhaul falls again, I thought JackJack was asleep but he wasn't. DH gets back and we all go in Castaway Creek again. As we are heading there we pass what looks like a grandma scolding her granddaughter. Dash informs us (she is our reporter) that the lady told the girl that on her birthday she was going to get her a present.:confused3 I told dh I had to write all this down or I would never remember all of it. I couldn't believe all the strange things that were happening. We finished up there and dh took the girls on somemore slides while jackjack and I hung out at the kids area. Then dh went to get more doughnuts and french fries. I really wanted some popcorn or something like that but no popcorn in Typhoon lagoon. DH took the girls back to mayday falls and jackJack spend the last halfhour on the tube slide in the kids area.
calebslide.jpg

of50590395-1.jpg

While we were waiting in line to get in, this little boy shoves his way in front of us and went to climb on his tube and in the process he fell and hurt himself, not sure where his parents were when he was pushing his way in line.:confused3 I had to drag jackjack away crying when it was time to leave. I got him all dried off and dressed, all our stuff packed and dh shows up with the girls adn we head out. JackJack fell asleep before we even got out of the park. We went back to our room and had leftovers for dinner and we were going to go somewhere for dessert. We headed to DTD but the parking was full so we went back to Bahama Breeze and it was pretty full too. We ended up at a place at our resort and Violet wanted a rootbeer float and Dash wanted a shake. They were pretty spendy so we just bought those and jackjack was mad.:furious: He didn't want to share he wanted his own. We got done and headed to back to bed. We put the girls to bed and dh and I went out to sit on our little patio. JackJack was playing out there with us. I came in because the girls were calling me and jackjack followed me in, what I didn't realize was he went out the front door and was trying to get something out of the car. DH realized he went out the front door and went to get him, after that we made sure we locked all the locks on the door so he couldn't open it.
next up: all I want is a stinking quarter

Great Update! Mind if I ask you a few questions? We are going to Typhoon Lagoon in October with my little boy.

Do you remember if there are tubes for the lazy river that don't have a whole in the middle? so a little kid can just sit in it?

of50590395-1.jpg

For the little slide...can you walk along the whole way next to your child? It looks like your DH is doing that in the picture.

And finally, do you remember how long you spend at the park that day? I'm thinking 3 to 4 hours would be the max for us...but I under-estimating how long we might enjoy being there.

Thanks so much!:thumbsup2

Yes, they have ones just like the one he is riding on the slide.

You can't walk the whole thing but you can see them the whole time and can easily get from the top to the bottom before they do.

We spent the whole day but we have older kids too. Although Jackjack loved it and had no problems staying form opening to close. You could probably spend 3-4 hrs. there and see all you want to, also.

Awww, that picture of JackJack in the Chinese hat is so adorable!

Thanks for answering my questions....I'm even more excited to go now....I never thought that DS might be able to do a little slide but it looks like we can try it!
