The Incredible Family's First Trip to WDW update 7/6 photopass pictures

Great update with fantastic pictures! I SO want a mickey rice krispy treat! Man, talk about a great sugar load!!! You really got a lot accomplished and I'm so happy the girls got to see the parade!!
Good going Mom!!

Your TR is really well-written and so much fun to read! You got me with this photo, though...I am a complete, 100% sucker for treats with icing. This picture seriously makes me want to drool and I'm considering daving it to be used as wallpaper! Yum...:lovestruc

What a nice surprise for your kids to see the Disney Channel stars!! I bet they loved you after that. ;)

I have to say I love the picture of JackJack and all that candy...too cute! And those cupcakes...MMMMMMM. I want one!

IMO you didn't really miss much by not seeing the backlot tour.

I can't blame the girl....I don't like them either!

Thanks for the update:woohoo:
I know it isn't one of the must sees, but since we hadn't been here and I have no idea when we will be back it was something I just wanted to see.
I have more understanding on these food issues than dh, he buys stuff he likes and doesn't understand why no one else wants to eat. Although, everyone in our family likes the turkey leg except Dash. I think he got her something else later, but I can't remember.
I just started reading. Great report!

I'm like you with the contacts and the water and stuff...it's hard to explain to a 9 and 4 year old how fun water slides are when you won't ride them though!

Looking forward to reading more!
Welcome, thanks for joining. Luckily I don't have to convince my kids that water slides are fun, they love them and they have dh to go with them. :)

They were so good, I was tempted to get another one near the end of our trip to bring home. :rotfl:

I thought they looked amazing, Dash was pretty taken with them to. Since we were getting the rice krispie treats, we didn't buy any of the other amazing stuff that was there. I didn't even look too close because I didn't want to be tempted;)

Yes, someone who worked there thought it was cute too and brought him a basket to carry it in. In my head I was cursing this lady as it wasn't helping us to get the stuff put away.:sad2: He was willing to put it away when dh promised him chocolate, all except the plastic straw that you can fill with the different flavored powder candy. For some reason he wanted that empty straw. He grabbed it again when we were walking out and I had to wrestle it out of his hands to put back. :sad2:

Great TR! Very enjoyable :goodvibes

popcorn::

Thanks, glad you joined in.:goodvibes

I will be gone this weekend, I am going on a girls scrapbooking weekend with my friends :woohoo: So I won't be able to post the next chapter until Tuesday. :sad1: Have a great weekend everyone.

Fun day!!! We never did make it to DTD. Or any daytime parades. lol!

Man those sweets look good.

Grrr. Sorry. I started my diet today and those yummy pictures sure didn't help but I will solider on. You are a great Mom, my DD would have love to see that parade. I only let her see one parade are whole trip (yes I am evil) In general I tend to find a lot of people pushy and mean at the parades so I avoid them like the plague. But I am glad you all had a good time.

-Becca-

Wow -- looks like you had a busy week! I'm living vicariously through you as the girls went on all of the rides, (RR and ToT) that scared the pants off my DS.:goodvibes There's always next time!

How did the kids like the shows? I'm with you and that they were a little cheezy, but DS loved them, especially Indiana Jones. He's been on an Indy kick for months and can't wait for the new movie to come out.

The parade bonus was cool too. We were there for the last day of the Disney Channel Games and I thought about trying to go over for the concert at Wide World of Sports but since it was our first day at WDW we were pooped. I also figured DS won't miss what he doesn't know about :rotfl:

I thought so too, it's a good thing I didn't have a chance to go back there.

I'm not a huge parade person either, I wouldn't mind missing them. I agree about people being pushy and mean. Good luck on your diet, I had not so great a weekend eating wise (how can you not when you spend it with your girlfriends?) So I have to jump back on the wagon today.:scared1:

I didn't tell my kids anything about the DC games until after the parade and I just told them we weren't able to go to them so I wanted to make sure they got to see the parade. So they thought it was all good.
They kids really liked the shows. I hope your ds will go on the rides next time. My kids LOVE the big rides, I'm sure he will one day too.

I am hoping to get my next update down this afternoon.

May 1-Epcot
We had breakfast at Sizzler's this morning. Not bad, cheap breakfast buffet, they had lots of good fruit when we were there.
We made it to Epcot aroun 9:20 and headed straight to Soarin. It was a 25 min wait so the girls and I got in line and dh got a baby swap pass. I love this ride and so did the girls. DH got fastpasses for later in the day while he waited and then he got on with the girls. Next we headed over to Living in the Land, JackJack loved riding on the boat. The greenhouses were very interesting, I love the pumpkins
IMG_2496.jpg

Then we watched Circle of Life, after that we went over to the Seas with Nemo. This is when the drama started for the day. Dash wanted to ride with dh but Violet had asked first so Dash got stuck with me and JackJack. She was just ticked off, I tried talking to her, telling her dh could ride with her on the next ride and all I got in return was grutns. This is what I was becoming:furious: The ride ended JackJack enjoyed it and we walked around the seas looking at all the sealife. I thought it was fun, we got to Turtletalk and JackJack fell asleep. Violet went and sat with the kids and Dash wouldn't she was still in her mood. During the show she finally started to get over it and I was able to get this picture when we left.
IMG_2498.jpg

Then I had to take this one.
IMG_2499.jpg

On the way to Imagination we stopped for a pretzel and chips. JackJack was awake now, I guess he just needed a cat nap so he and Dash fought over the Doritos. We went in and rode journey to imagination and I have to say I wasn't impressed. Then we went to watch Honey I shrunk the audience. When we went to Disneyland and Violet was 6 I took her to watch it and in about 5 min she lost it and we had to leave, so I was curious to see how this one went. We made it through:woohoo: and now I don't feel like I ever need to go see it again. :rotfl:
Now we decided to head into the world showcase and our first stop was Canada. We went immediatley to the kidcot station to get the kids masks and get their passports signed. JackJack had a great time
IMG_2505.jpg

Now Dash has another breakdown. She is a great drawer and colorer but she is a perfectionist and she messed up on her mask and was upset and wanted a new one. I wouldn't let her get a new one, I tried to help her, I tried to talk to her, dh tried to talk to her, and we were about ready to leave her there when we were done.:headache: While the kids were coloring I was enjoying this garden.
IMG_2504.jpg

We decided to try and ignore Dash's attitude and went in to watch O Canada, it was enjoyable. Then we had to take this picture.
IMG_25071.jpg

Now off to the UK where we got the typical phone booth picture.
IMG_2508.jpg

DH bought JackJack a soccer uniform, he was so excited to find it. We also bought some cadbury chocolate here, yum.
Next up was France and the pastry shop. I'd been waiting our whole trip to get to the world showcase and start trying the food I had read about. I got the napolean
IMG_2512.jpg

DH and Violet both got a chocolate chip cookie
IMG_2511.jpg

and Dash got a cream puff
IMG_2513.jpg

They were all very tasty although I think I would try something else the next time.
Next we went to Morroco
IMG_2515.jpg
IMG_25161.jpg

Dash saw money in the fountain and was again trying to fish it out. What was with this girl and the money in the fountain, I told her to put it back and we went to find the kidcot station. We get back there and the girls are coloring some more, JackJack fell asleep again and then we started looking around the shop.

Next we were off to Japan and I couldn't wait to see the candy making lady. We had about 20 min until her show so we lined up in front of her cart and the kids watched a story teller and drummers. DH went to buy kakigori. This was great, but I only got a taste because he bought 1 for each of the girls and that was it. While we were waiting I took a few pictures.
IMG_2517.jpg

IMG_2518.jpg
The candy lady came out and she asked Violet what she wanted her to make, again Dash is bent out of shape, one per family. Violet picked a blue wolf.
IMG_25251.jpg

This lady was amazing, I could have come back and watched her again and again. Here a few more of her creations.
IMG_2533.jpg

IMG_2539.jpg

The girls were wanting to go on some rides so we decided to head back, on the way we met up with the Beast.
IMG_2541.jpg

In Morroco we tried to see Jasmine (Dash's favorite princess) but they cut the line off right in front of the girls. :(
I thought now would be a great time to try out club cool, we were all hot and thirsty. I had already heard about beverly and was trying to figure out how to get a picture of them drinking it without them being suspicious. So I told them that after each one I was going to take a picture of them with a thumbs up or thumbs down. The first two weren't too bad and then we got to Beverly, they all took good sized drinks of it too, not just a sip.
IMG_2546.jpg

I was laughing and I confessed and dh said he felt like he had been wronged and was a little miffed. Oh well, the pictures was worth it. :rotfl2: :lmao: We tried the others and I thought they were all fine. The watermelon, apple, and gingerale were probably my favorites.
Here are some of the topiary pictures.
IMG_2542.jpg

IMG_2543.jpg

Then we went to Spaceship Earth, almost no wait. It was pretty fun, JackJack was awake now and he enjoyed it, in fact in the end dh and Jackjack were in the picture and not me. But, I was fine with that. Then we went to mission space and I was not going to go on the orange side so the girls and I headed ot the green side, only 15 min wait. The ride was okay but nothing special. When we came out I saw a play area in side so I went to get JackJack and bring him in to play while dh and the girls went on the orange side. While dh was waiting for us JackJack had fun chasing birds again and he made a friend that enjoyed it too.:)
IMG_2547.jpg

IMG_2549.jpg

IMG_2550.jpg

IMG_2551.jpg

IMG_2552.jpg

IMG_2553.jpg

I took JackJack to the play area and he was having fun crawling through the tunnel and then I heard him calling for me and saw that there was a section that went higher up than I realized and he had gone up there and couldn't get down. I waited a little bit, hoping they would get off the ride soon and one of the girls could go up and help him, but no such luck. So I had to try and climb up there and help him down. I tried to come out non-chalantly:rolleyes1 so no one would laugh at. Eventually they came and the girls wanted to play a little bit and I guess JackJack got himself stuck up there again and the girls got him down this time.
Next was test track we had gotten fastpasses so the girls and I went on. Now I had high expectations for this ride and I was disappointed, it just seemed like a letdown, I was expecting more and it wasn't much. We came off the ride and began looking for dh, couldn't find him, we walked around for a little bit when I saw a playground and there was dh. He had gone to mexico and bought tacos and then went to the playground. They went to ride Test Track and I watched JackJack and ate the taco, yum. JackJack enjoyed the black beans that came with it too. Then the playground closed adn I went back to wait for the rest of the family. JackJack must have been feeling a little hyper :hyper: While we waited in reached in the bottom of the stroller and grabbed the candy that the lady made in Japan and I managed to get it from him, but little piece got broken, then he grabbed his mask and ripped it off the stick, went to the garbage can and opened up the side of it, found a stick on the ground and tossed it, then he grabbed his sippy cup and threw it almost hitting someone. This all happened one after the other so as I was trying to fix one thing he was on to the next. DH and the girls finally got off the ride and we headed to mexico to get some more dinner. We found a bench facing the water and sat and dh went to get a combo plate, a burrito and enchiladas. For some reason there was no echiladas but there was a taco salad. :confused3 Dash had the burrito, Violet had some of the combo but she wanted to enchiladas, and dh and I shared the salad and then shared whatever was left of the girls. The food was all really good. We decided to stay here and wait for illuminations, it was starting to get dark so I pulled out the glow sticks I had brought and gave them to the kids, they loved them. I took some pretty night shots.
IMG_25571.jpg

IMG_2559.jpg

Once it started we stood up and walked over closer to the water, if we had stayed at the bench there was a tree that would have blocked most of our view. It was really neat, I'm glad we watched it. When it was over we all pushed and shoved our way out of the park. We made it back to our car and headed home to bed.
Next up: Where's Papa?

That is too funny about the Beverly! When we were there I was thirsty so I suggested we go in there to try some free drinks. Well, this boy, maybe 11 or 12 tells me to try it. He kept saying how it was so good and that I should have some...I know from on here that it's nasty so I said nice try. He wasn't about to fool me! :teeth:

Oh, DH tried this afterwards, he saw a kids that was probably 11 or 12 and he tried to tell him that Beverly was really good, but the kids completely ignored him. I think since he had been taken he wanted to get someone else. He said he thought it tasted like drinking skunk spray :scared1: I took a sip and thought it tasted like really bitter grapefruit, of course he took a nice big gulp.

Hi,

Just read your trip report and am really enjoying it!I love all the shirts and it is too funny about your daughter with the fountain. That is something my daughter would say to me. Looking forward to more:goodvibes

Oops! I read this forever go and thought I commented but didn't. Obviously I am not the brightest crayon in the box. I love the pictures at Epcot and the Candy Lady sounds amazing. I wish we had seen her. Sorry Dash was having a stressful sort of day. Cat had a few meltdowns on our trip too.

Can't wait to read more!

Thanks, I couldn't believe how she kept trying to fish money out of the fountains, I guess she thought it was there for the taking.:confused3

She was amazing, I had heard about her before and she was on my list of must sees. Dash on her own is usually fine but Dash + Violet =:stir:

May 2 Animal Kingdom
We went to breakfast at Shonney's, it was fine it was as expensive as Golden Corral but I didn't think it was quite as good. Then we were off to Animal Kingdom, we got there about 9:15 and headed straight to Everest. The standby was about 20 min so I got in with the girls and while dh waited he got us some fastpasses. We loved the ride. I knew about it going backwards but didn't tell the girls and they loved it too. We got off all excited, the girls were ready for DH to try and it. We came out of the shop and looked all over out there, no DH. I thought maybe we should head to Dinoland because I had told dh abou the boneyard for jackjack to play in. I didn't think he would go over there, but I didn't no where else to look. We walked over the bridge to Dinoland and a little ways down the path and the girls didn't want to go any further they were concerned that Papa was back at Everest and we just didn't see him. So we went back, looked everywhere couldn't find him. So we headed back over to Dinoland and went all the way to the boneyard but didn't see him anywhere there and headed back. I'm getting pretty peeved now because of all the time that is being wasted. We walk by the Nemo show and they are telling everyone the show starts in a few minutes and there are still seats. If he had been where he was supposed to be we would have been able to have dh and the girls ride and made it back in time to watch Nemo. :headache: We just go back to Everest and sit on a rock and wait. Finally dh wanders in with jackjack in the stroller. He had gone down the other way and he and JackJack and been watching the apes.
IMG_2567.jpg

IMG_2568.jpg

He didn't think we would be done so quickly and he took JackJack to watch the apes to keep him entertained. DH and the girls went to ride and JackJack ran around there and climbed on the rocks while we waited.
IMG_2574.jpg

Right before they got down I saw a dad with 2 kids putting on hats from the college in our hometown and I had to say something. Turns out he lives in the same town as us, what are the chances? Then dh and the girls come over and we head to dinoland. I take the girls on primevil whirl, can't say it is one of my favorites, very jerky but of course the girls loved it. It was only a 10 min wait so I got off and saw dh and jackjack on triceritops spin. So we swapped and he took the girl to PW and I took jackjack on triceritops spin. There was no wait, we got on and around we went, he LOVED this ride. We didn't even have to get off, we just stayed on our dinosaur and rode again. No I am noticing the dream team at the exit of the ride and am getting a little excited. So we get off, but they just stand there, one of them comments to me that jackjack is a future pilot. We have to wait for the next ride and I am hoping they don't pick these people while we are off but they don't. We get on again and ride for a couple more times and then the girls get on and join us too. DH took some pictures of us.
IMG_2578.jpg

That ride ends and the dreamteam still just stands there, I get off to say something to dh and the girls stay on, I point out the dream team to him and get back in line with jackjack, now as the ride is ending I see the dream team step forward, and I'm thinking the girls are going to get dream fastpasses or something but they just pick this one man and walk off with him. Of course I am on ride but I want to know what he won, so when I get off I ask dh, of course he didn't eavsdrop for me but he did take a picture.
IMG_2586.jpg

Now we are off to Dinosaur, dh gets a childswap and he goes back to the boneyard. This ride was pretty good, it was scary in spots but the girls did fine. We went to find dh at the boneyard and it took a little bit to find him then he took the girls and I watched jackjack. I have to say that this is probably a great place for kids that are a little older and you can let them play and no they won't get themselves stuck somewhere, but for jackjack it was a horrible place to try and keep an eye on him. He would climb up one thing and by the time I went up the stairs we was somewhere else, I was so glad to see dh and the girls get there. We left there and went to the maharajah jungle trek. This was really neat and we saw lots of cool animals here are some of the best
IMG_2587.jpg

IMG_2588.jpg

IMG_2589.jpg

IMG_2591.jpg

IMG_2592.jpg

Then we got fastpasses for kali river rapids, the ride was broke down right then. So we decided to go to Flights of wonder. JackJack had fallen asleep so they let us keep him in the stroller and I sat in the back with him and dh sat up front with the girls. Violet got picked to throw a grape up for a bird to catch and she almost hit the ceiling.
IMG_2611.jpg

This was a pretty neat to see the birds, the storyline was a little cheesy though. After this we were getting hungry so dh bought 2 giant pretzels and some frozen lemonade. We found a place to sit and it was so hot. I love those pretzels though and they are huge. After this we went back and rode everest with our fastpasses. After I rode with the girls I took JackJack back to see the apes and dh knew where I would be so he would keep an eye out.
IMG_2605.jpg

Then on to Kali river rapids. This is so short, I have done the grizzley river run at Disneyland and it is so much better. The girls got absolutely drenched and I had water all down my back. DH went on with the girls and he got the water down his back too. I would do this again if it was really hot and I wanted to cool off and the line was really short otherwise I would skip it.
We decided to go check out the conservation station and parked the stroller because we saw so many strollers parked we thought we couldn't take it with us, apparantly would could have and wished we had. Jack jack was so excited to ride on the train.
IMG_2627.jpg

He loved brushing the goats too.
IMG_2633.jpg

Violet was tired of the goats so I went inside with her. She really wished we would have been there in the morning to see some of the vet procedures but she had fun in there anyway. When dh, Dash and JackJack came in we went to meet some characters but since we didn't have the stroller we didn't have our autograph books, so no autographs.:(
IMG_2635.jpg

IMG_2637.jpg

IMG_2639.jpg

The great thing was no lines, none the characters where just kind of standing around waiting for someone to come so they would have something to do.

After we got back on the train we went over to the kilimanjaro safari. The wait time was only 20 min :woohoo: We got on board and were off. This was really fun, the kids loved seeing the animals, the only frustrating part was we had some people right behind us that kept standing up and our driver repeatedly had to tell them to sit down. When we were getting ready to over the bridege by the alligators he told them over and over to sit down and that we coudlnt' go across until they sat because if they fell out we couldn't get them in time. I was about ready to just let them take there chances.:rolleyes1 They finally sat down and we finally began a forward motion again, the other problem was everytime I went to take a picture they would stand up and block my view.:headache: But I still managed a few good pictures.
IMG_2658.jpg

IMG_2660.jpg

IMG_2672.jpg

The safari finished and it was almost closing time which meant it was almost time for our Rainforest Cafe ADR's. So we walked on out of the park and to the restaraunt, we only had to wait a few minutes until we were seated. JackJack was fascinated with everything in there. The girls saw people with light up cups and they wanted one so they decided to spend there money and buy a cup with Icee's. It was freezing in there, not just chilly but seriously cold. Violet was especially complaining but I couldn't do much for her. I got the bbq chicken wrap and it was really good. I had gotten a coupon in e-mail for a free volcano so we ordered that for dessert. Very big and very good
IMG_2678.jpg

After we were done I took the kids to the shop so they could warm up some while dh paid. They found lots of fun stuff to play with, Violet found a shirt she wanted so I went to pay for that while dh took the kids outside. Dash found something she wanted to show Violet and ran out of the store to show her before she realized what she had done, luckily no one seemed to notice, or if they did they realized she wasn't really trying to steal it and she brought it back in. We walked back to our car and there was a beautiful sunset. The perfect way to end they day.
