Our AKL experience was being first shown a 'savannah view' room that instead looked out towards the parking lot and two huge metal doors leading to the lower level of the main lodge. I asked to be moved and we were like you Karolyn, given literally the last room on the farthest wing. DH was very unhappy but the worst was that all the balconies on the Y shaped savanna area were visible to everyone and the people next door had a screamer son they sent out to their balcony to have his tantrums; not to mention that many people went out to their balconies to conduct loud cell phone conversations. Using our balcony was very difficult! Tim's buddy who we had brought along was having a birthday and I told the desk etc.; was never acknowledged and they never let us know that the balloons his parents had sent were even there (I know they are verboten in rooms) until we were checking out. 90% of my photos there were taken from other than our own room. Boma gave away our reservation and we waited 1 hour after our original time for another. I'm sure there were more negatives but thank goodness time has faded them away. We moved to a concierge level room at Hard Rock Hotel, Universal for LESS THAN our 'savannah view' room with a pin code and had a great three days.

Last minute trip that year for us and this was the only DVC DD could get. Day 1 of the trip saw a 12 hour drive turn into a 17 hour drive and it was downhill from there! We loving call it our "trip from hell"! RUDE (and somewhat frightening!) fellow guests at the Villa, our room was the LONGEST walk from the elevator we've ever experienced, transportation problems, the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in at DW, lack of places DGD's would eat at; a view of a parking lot and pasture with the tallest weeds ever and I ended up spending the last day of the trip at a 24 hour clinic with a badly infected finger. No fault of the Villa but bad memories of Kidani in 2012!

How similar our experiences were! Bad views and compromised views! Noisy, rude fellow guests! Long, long hallway walks! Agree about transportation problems there too. At least though we stayed healthy at AKL! Our worst DVC bed ever was at BLT and I spent a full 24 hours in it with that norovirus!
