We feel the same about the old AK Lodge too (Jambo House now)! Even though we used the only discount code ever mailed to us to book it the trip was nearly a disaster overall only salvaged with a nearly perfect stay at Universal.

That's a tough decision since I haven't experienced many of the new attractions but my treasured old one is this!

Last minute trip that year for us and this was the only DVC DD could get. Day 1 of the trip saw a 12 hour drive turn into a 17 hour drive and it was downhill from there! We loving call it our "trip from hell"! RUDE (and somewhat frightening!) fellow guests at the Villa, our room was the LONGEST walk from the elevator we've ever experienced, transportation problems, the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in at DW, lack of places DGD's would eat at; a view of a parking lot and pasture with the tallest weeds ever and I ended up spending the last day of the trip at a 24 hour clinic with a badly infected finger. No fault of the Villa but bad memories of Kidani in 2012!
